That being said, Transformers nowadays have great articulation, so I'm not sure where the benefit is with this Red line. Is it simply aesthetics? Because I also feel like current Transformers look pretty damn good.
The TF RED line isn't for me, but there's a place in the toy market for non-transforming Transformers action figures. Heck, I have Revoltech Optimus and Megatron figures on my desk at work. Having said that, i just got a few TF War for Cybertron figures for my 7-year-old son over the last few months. They are great! Earthrise Optimus is the best OP that i've ever seen. It looks as fantastic--in both modes--as my original 80s in truck mode and MP-1 in robot mode. Plus it has tons of playability. It immediately became my son's favorite toy.
As for the GI Joe retro line, I want the definitive version of the original toys or Sunbow designs but with the modern era construction and detail. My hope is that it is a continuation of the 50th/Ultimate figures. Those Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, and Snake Eyes were excellent. There were so many characters that were left out, though. <<cough>>Duke<<cough>> I guess we'll (maybe) find out tomorrow.
