Also on CC, I do believe I sanded down the shoulder and elbow joints, mostly to give myself some chances to refine my technique. I don't think I needed to sand down much. Part of this is because all the parts were made for each other (no frankenJoeing), and part because of that more rubbery plastic they used in 50th releases.
I don't always do joint sanding, especially on darker figures. Personally I don't know if I care, but since I've been doing photos publicly, I try to do more. Also with lighter figures, I will do try to stay with Tamiya or Testors.
If I have to use Citadel or Vallejo, I will do the works: shave down with exacto knife, sand down with sandpaper (coarser grits, then finer grits, then buff with felt or dryer sheets), then primer, then color paint, then varnish/clearcoat. Given the amount of coats described above, I work the joints down I lot more for this process. It's all real annoying just to avoid a little paint scratch a mostly hidden areas, really.
The strap is from the DG CC, used previously in the comic 2 pack with Tripwire I think. The one with the sword. Azrael13 had used this, but his was black, and I wonder if he was able to bypass painting this by using the figure that came with those weird Best of 4 pack figures. There's a lot of weird mold flash on the strap, and with the extra painting I required, mine doesn't look as clean as his.
The chest cross strap was cut from the belt right at the top of the belt. Also, it was glued down to the figure only at upper back. I didn't know where I should permanently attach it to the belt--so it's not attached there, and moves around when twisting the upper torso. But its mold is right on, letting it look attached visually.
Thanks Todd. The more good comments I get about the packaging, the less stupid I feel about spending $30.00 for it. It's nice to have untouched original 25th style versions of these guys, but not $30.00 worth IMO.
Yes, I'm cheap, and that's probably while the line is now dead...
Thanks about the cross belt!!!
