Thanks for all this info guys.
Basically I've never owned a Baroness figure. I would like to get the ROC versions of her (I tend to like the roc/poc/30th more "realistic" Joes than the cartoon/comic style of the 25th), I just haven't been in a rush to grab one because as many people who've reviewed her two ROC toys say...look like dudes in drag.
So with that in mind,
What I want to do is get both ROC Baroness figures, remove their hair, remove the paint on their heads and hair, and repaint those parts (eyes, eyebrows, lips, hair) so that they don't look manly and the fine details of the original sculpts can be seen as they were meant to be. This also all really hinges on if the plastic underneath the paint is flesh tone, otherwise if it is black then I will have to paint the entire head lightly enough so that it doesn't diminish the original head's fine detailing.
This guy removed all the paint from a ROC Baroness head and look how good the original sculpt is underneath:

Now, how would you go about removing hair without damaging or tearing anything apart?
I did some searching on Hisstank and folks say to heat up a mug of water in the microwave to "boil" the head so you can loosen the glue and pull off the hair. However, some folks say that boiling a toy may actually deform the plastic and damage the figure. What's the truth to this method? Is it safe?
