Myself, Chuckdawg1999 and cmderinchief have started recording weekly podcasts discussing news and stories related to the work of GI Joe. In this first episode we discuss the Skystriker's price point, Hasbro's profit report, and Wave 6 figures on JoeDeclassified.com, ALL while fighting the technical growing pains of an inaugural podcast.

What's on Joe Mind?

Please give it a listen and let us know what you think!
Starfighter:
Thanks. I hope that it is great. I hope and can't wait for it to be on iTunes.
Starfighter:
BTW, are you going to be on any forums for the podcast. I would suggest thecomicforums.com as you will no doubt gain more members if you do so.
Crosshair:
We're looking into getting it posted on iTunes eventually, just trying to get a handle of the whole podcasting schedule and the technical side at the moment. And for right now we're just posting links on all the Joe boards. After we've honed our craft a bit we'll branch out some more. That Comics Forum (and all the podcasts)...are they mainly comic related podcasts? Or is it a mix of everything?
TheFallen:
Finally. I have been suprised why hisstank doesn't have a podcast yet it's sister site, tf2005, does

I will give it a listen
soonerboy:
This is great news! Just hope your more consistent than the G.I. Joe Review podcast.
the Scream Man:
Always good to see another podcast join the fray sir! Have fun with it!

The Fwooshcast is one of the inspirations for starting a Joe-centric Podcast, Craig. If we can be half as good as you guys I'll be happy

Right now "What's on JOE Mind?" is based off of Declassified - only because that is where discussion started. The plan continues to be, if it goes well, to do the whole domain thing and be site independent yet remain community specific. The Joe community is just the right size to lend itself to do this. We'll see though, this is only the pilot.

Thanks for the reply. The Comic Forums are whatever you want. You can speak about the comics or anything in partuicular. It is the #1 source/community for podcasts related to toys/comics/movies/cartoons. It will certainly help you branch out and gain a name for yourselves. Thanks again.

Good luck with the nerw voyage and I can't wait for more episodes (and for it to be on iTunes). I hope that you can get at least 1 episode per month.
KushViper:
listening now
thanks for this!

EDIT: That was pretty good. I would listen to many more of these if you guys end up making them. i love the idea of having guests on the show and I agree that Marauder John would be a great one.
gn0s1s:
No iTunes link makes it much harder to gain listeners, since you lose a potential audience of people listening (and searching for podcasts) exclusively on their PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple TV. I don't go to the trouble of downloading podcasts that don't bother posting an iTunes link, it's free and easy to do. Looking forward to checking it out once it's there though!
cmderinchief:
Relax my friend. It takes a while for iTunes to post your podcast. It has been submitted and it is under review. Pay attention to this space. Once it is there, Crosshair will let everyone know.

Once you submit on iTunes, it can take anywhere near 4 to 8 hours to show up in their search field.
Mazinger:
That was cool. Thanks for doing the podcast. I have long commutes and listening to various podcasts makes them more tolerable.

Thank you for listening! Podcasts are life savers when it comes to commuting. I listen to about 3 or 4 a week, because the radio and all the commercials were starting to drive me crazy.
Starfighter:
I agree. Again, great podcast.

iTunes search is still not showing the podcast. I'm going to be patient there, but I tested the subscribe link above and it did add it to my iTunes client. Try it. PM me if you have issues.
Starfighter:
How is it spelled exactly on iTunes? Is it just like this "What’s on JOE Mind" with the spaces and apostrophe? Is it searchable with the words GI Joe Podcast? It should be up there by now if you submitted it yesterday. Maybe, iTunes is slow today.
the Scream Man:
Ill subscribe on itunes when i get home sir! I'm a bit stunned to be inspiration, Im used to be being inspired by others, not the other way round!
TheFallen:
I am not an expert on podcasts but I do have some criticism that I hope you can find constructive.

- you need to set the audio equally amongst all hosts. I couldn't quite hear one of you, and the background echo is way too loud

- you need to be completely engaged to the topics and discussion

- you need to consider what can be picked up as far as background noise is concerned. The clicking (typing?) in the background was very distracting

As I said, I am no expert but it was entertaining enough for me to continue to listen.

I too thought the Iron Grenadiers were pronounced the same way as one of the hosts. I only found out otherwise when I heard it spoken in Renegades

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the audio level is the hardest thing to adjust. We're recording from Skype, which creates just one audio file. Adjusting the volume for an individual feed is a bit difficult, but we'll look into it!

As it was our first podcast (we didn't do any practice runs) the pilot episode was a bit rough on the "back and forth." Keep in mind, we're 3 guys that have never met in person and have never talked together before, so we're still getting to know each other.

And we tried to be a bit quieter on the typing and background noise on episode we just posted, hopefully it sounds a bit better.

Again, we appreciate any feedback you guys may have. Thanks for listening!
Starfighter:
Everyone will be happy to know that it is now uploadable on iTunes.
cmderinchief:
Sweet, thanks for the extra set of eyes.

We will be having a special guest in our next episode along with our discussion on the Lexicon of Hated Joe Words, Army Building and Renegades.

Two episodes from now we will be conducting our first interview. Details to come later!
skinny:
hated joe words?
hmm like in the comics and toons? or are we talking collector related?
intriguing.
cmderinchief:
We gave it a wide birth, comic - toon - collector based. We'll talk about them. It should be a fun segment.
cobracobra:
This is awesome. Thanks I just talked to my buddy about going to Canada Con! Thanks allot.
I just added this to my bookmarks thanks again this is a really cool podcast.

Yes, thanks for doing a podcast. I enjoyed the previous episode.
cmderinchief:
Thanks guys. We're still ironing out a few technical issues (so we apologize in advance), but we appreciate the feedback thus far.
wormser:
i love podcasting. we use skype to host our conversation but we each record our own tracks with audacity and then send them to a server on filezilla and our friend mixes all 3 tracks together and eq's it all. sound quality is way better that way.
Starfighter:
Thanks for the update. My one complaint so far is the is that chuckdawg1999 seems to be very quiet in terms of volume as cmderinchief and Crosshair seem fine. You really have to turn up the volume to hear him sometimes. Perhaps it is just the mike being used.

We might have figured out the issue with the sound volumes, but if not we'll probably give that a try. Thanks for the tip!

And thanks again for listening!
polyphenus:
Great podcast. Listened to the first two episodes yesterday and will listen to the latest one this afternoon. So happy to see it on iTunes as that equals idiot's delight for me. Set it and forget it. ;-)
TheFallen:
Good job on the podcasts. Episode 1 (the second episode) was entertaining and so much better than the pilot episode.

I will continue to listen and I hope you can keep then regular

And isn't how that is supposed to work out that way? Glad you like it. We will continue to work on the production value of the show. We also have some interesting shows on the horizon. As those come together, we'll clue everyone in.

Cool.
