One of the most memorable unused designs drawn up by Don Figueroa for GI Joe VS Transformers crossover comics was an Optimus Prime that turned into the Rolling Thunder! Yes the same GI Joe vehicle that commands a strong following amongst the fandom with intercontinental ballistic missles and a whole lot of other weapons. Nothing like it has been made since.
While Figueroa’s design wasn’t used for the comics, it may actually see the light of day as a toy! Yes, thanks to sister site TFW2005 for the scoop, on Xovergen Production‘s upcoming Supreme Tactical Commander Patriot figure! The following information was provided:
- Late 2010 release
- Transforming figure
- Commander base

An early concept of Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime by Don Figueroa was produced for Transformers/GI Joe crossover comic but never come into fruition. However, it seems like a Japanese third party company named "Xovergen Production" will give us their take on Figueroa's design and turn it into a toy.
Xovergen Production has posted a silhouette of the alternate mode of Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime, or rather Supreme Tactical Commander-Grand Patriot . The site also mentions that this toy will be released at the end of 2010, and is comprised of a transforming robot and a commander base.
Below you can see the concept silhouette, concept drawings, & original ARAH Rolling Thunder:

If this was capable of holding standard GI Joe figures I would probably shell out a couple of hundred to have something to keep next to my BMF Falcon.

That's cool.
I'd buy it if
1. Holds 3 3/4
2. Is good quality ie doesn't fall apart
3. Under $200
I bet 1 and 2 are probable...3 not so much . I bet it is expensive.
