TheRealDubya:
I found these today at Fred Meyer. $2.99 for a pack of two. They are tiny.

I got:

S1-10 Roadblock
S1-38 Dark Nina Master
S1-39 Dark Ninja Brawler
S1-41 Joe Colton

Was rolling the dice hoping for Storm Shadow and Shockwave/blast.

It is cool to see these show up finally at retail. I havent decided if i am going to buy these yet or not. They do look cool. Or i mite just try to get a few of them that i really like.
HooveRtron:
Blind packing is dirty pool and it sucks that Hasbro has picked up this bad habit from Japanese companies. The SW ones weren't packaged that way! Man, I was really looking forward to these too. :(

  1. In Hand: Yes
  2. Retail: Yes - Fred Meyer, regional chain in the Northwest; $2.99 for a pack of two.
  3. More pics: No, just the pics in the first shot. It tells the tale.

Yes they were (and are.) These are almost exactly "Star Wars Fighter Pods" except without the gaming element and GI Joe.

I think Hoove was refering to the fact that most of the Fighter Pods series comes in actual sets carded, not add-on Blind Bags. They ran $5.99 for like 8 or 10 + the plastic balls to hold them, got a free set when I bought a TF last year at Target.
TheRealDubya:
I should probably also mention that I saw the Flint unarticlutaed on a motorocycle thing as well, same store.

Ah, good point - the multipacks. Forgot about those.
HooveRtron:
Yeah the SW ones I saw were in a big box set... if I've seen blindbagged ones I didn't really notice. Considering I'm going to want so few of them I don't know that it's worth throwing $ away on blindbagged things... mreh.

Yeah, it sucks, but I kinda wonder if kids like it. Reminds me of buying sports cards or Garbage Pail Kids when I was a kid - half of the fun was the not knowing. And then trading dupes with homies.
monstermonkey:
Eh, these look cool, but I don't think I want to spend $3 for a blind pack of 2 TINY guys. Between these, the KreeOs, and those other 3 inch blind boxed super-deformed Joe figures, there's a little too much cutesy Joe stuff all coming out at once. Doubt I'll buy any of it. I'd rather Hasbro would spend the time/money/effort/plastic on producing all that stuff in their "concept" case they showed at the Con. At least make the godamn Kwinn figure, will ya?

Don't let Flint hear you say that! But thanks for the intel!
Troops of Doom:
Pass. Sad to see this stuff on the shelves and not the main line. :(
Jinx723:
Just like all the other none 1/18th scale Joe stuff...

...if it's not 3.75" it's not G.I. Joe to me.
Regan MacNeil:
Can't say I'm too interested in the Squinkies, but what are those Wild West gunslingers? They're cheesy and cool like old Star Wars figures.
hahoo3:
I think I'll sell all my 1/18th stuff and start collecting these! I'll save a lot of money and room!!

Not far off - made by Kenner and the guy on the left actually uses a resculpted Luke Skywalker head:

Butch & Sundance
Cdt Weasel:
What are Fred Meyers prices like compared to target and walmart? These may be a bit cheaper elsewhere. The star wars sets came blind bagged and carded. The blind bags were also around $3 and the other sets still averaged more than $1 each. The first wave or two of the star wars had figures that could only be found in the blind bags, but every blind bag had them. The 3rd wave also had exclusive figures in the blind bags, but there wasn't always one in every bag any longer. The carded sets all had 1 or 2 exclusive figures to them (except the 4 packs) I only collected the first wave. There was no way to get the 1st wave without dupes. I forget the math but I think the minimum amount you could buy was 54 figures while there were only 48 different ones.
super curry max:
surely it won't be long before some rapscallion cracks the codes from the upc or other feature on the packages to determine what figures are inside.

People did it with the lego collectible mini-figs(though lego wised up after the first 2 series switching from barcodes to the dots, but there is still the identifiers there) and the transformers kreons have the special codes.
orezona:
Huh. I missed out on the news of these things. I guess for the novelty they are kind of neat but I'd hate to try to get a full set and end up with 900 Snake Eyes...

Interesting that a large portion of the designs are from the concept case. I guess Hasbro heard our collective whining and decided to make them into real figures!

These were shown at the same time as the concept case. Which means that Hasbro probably had some real intent on releasing those figs in the past and thought the minis would go well with them.

Super I doubt there is any kind of code for these. The star wars had none, they are just randomly packed.

Prices are the same.
Saboteur:
Thanks for sharing. Good to know more stuff is hitting retail.

Not too interested in these, but I do like that Wyatt Earp.

I'm holding out for the Kre-O stuff.
youdoitimbusy:
The turbinless bin ladin one is alright. The rest are a pass for me.
Python_Puckman:
Meh. I'd rather have them continue the Combat Heroes line with more vintage characters

What you said. Or do some Playskool Joes like the Marvel and Star Wars ones.

In terms of blind bag, cutie Joe product, I think the Kreos offer more. Figures, vehicles, playsets. Kreo seems overall a better product.

I was just going to say this. There are likely numbers somewhere that will match up to what's inside. Someone just needs to buy them all and make a list.

*not it
ChadVamp:

ilzuccone:
blinds bags aren't for me.
ChadVamp:
There is a checklist.
ChadVamp:
Total of 43 figures in series 1. Tons of ninjas!
fireflyguy:
Cool! I'm gonna pick up at least a few of these.
Dolemite:
The whole money-grubbing concept of blind bags can go fu*k itself. If I find these at retail, I will covertly rip open bags until I find ones I want to buy.

Thank god I don't live in your area....

I love the blind bag concept. Gives a level of surprise and excitement.
fireflyguy:
After looking at them again, in bit sure I'll try to get a whole set. I hate all that ninja crap.
skinny:
depends on how they are packaged, you might not have to rip them open (if you get caught on camera doing so you could be detained for shoplifting suspicion)
you could just feel the bags if not coded. That Zartan looks like he would be easy to find as well as Zap.

It would be neat to see kids go gaga for these like we went gaga for star wars cards. Imagine kids trading their duplicate ghost ninja for a snake eyes etc etc.
In fact someone should start a trading thread that is stickied in the BST just for that purpose!

This is why companies keep making these stupid blind bags. You're part of the problem.

Valid points, although many blind bag figures are usually wrapped in a thin piece of cardboard or something to make it harder to feel exactly what's inside.
ChadVamp:
Just FYI the flexible nature of these figures makes it very hard to feel out what figure is in the bag.
I just posted a bunch on eBay for a buck each and a few figure lots. Check me out!
Dolemite:
Link me, bro!
