Cartoon Network's Adult Swim has it on schedule for 12AM-1:30AM, on the night of Friday April 24th, which is actually April 25th.

I think the ratings are going to go through the roof.Maybe CN will pick up 5 min shorts to stick with there other shows. That would rock. arashikage tat: How funny, I tried the same thing yourfacehere: Ah Adult Swim.
Those ol guys are good for most anything.....
Just glad that they'll be the ones showin it.
Not much censorship on their end. Wry1: Holy f!*king sh!t!!!! If this is true..........wow. I haven't been this stoked for something to come out since the 25th line started! Lantern_Lad: Quote:

...and the 26th is Sunday. Just think FRIDAY NIGHT!
(the day doesn't change for me unless I go to sleep or see daylight again.) Sunblow: YES YES YES!
It's an absolutely bizzare time-slot for a premiere, but whatever. I'll take it! (All I need now is cable TV . . . ) Troynos: Quote:

If done in a good way, it would only be a good thing. There's nothing wrong with killing off characters, it makes the viewer more invested in the show and the charaters remaining. Who really ends up caring about Duke if you know he'll always survive? Where's the tension when you know beyond doubt that they'll get out of any situation.
I like it when heroes die and they fail. It makes the stories more real and makes you more invested because now you know that someone won't always walk away.
And the love letter is giving us Joe fans a Joe show that is truer to what we grew up with but giving a modern and updated feel. The movie is Joes for a new generation. Resolute is our Joe all grown up. blzjoe: thought this was gonna be on spike? glad its not i prefer [as] Mr. Focus: Quote:

Whether you like, dislike or indifferent... It's going to be an EXPLOSIVE year for the G.I. Joe franchise! GI abe444: OOOOHHH man I can't wait !!! phxbigdog: HeLL YEAH!!!! Can't wait!!! Bridegroom: I seriously could not think of a better place. This should be a great audience for Resolute. Nostalgia fans of Robot Chicken and Anime/Animation fans of Action Adult-Oriented Cartoons. Perfect. COL Abernathy: Best Frontpage news EVER!!!!
Seriously, Shin, how fast did you post this thread when you found out? Point-five seconds? I bet u couldn't wait to share this news!! General Hawk: Freaking AWESOME. I've been waiting for this announcement since I saw that trailer at JoeCon last YEAR. Finally!
Bring it on! W00T!
Justin firefly069: This really doesn't come as a surprise, I know myself and many others thought this was the way to go. So good job Hasbro!
What do you guys think:
1) Will they make a series out of this?
2) Will this be the future of the Modern Era line?
3) Will they sell the DVD?
I am hoping they can make a resolute series, I think it would be awesome and would totally work well.
As for people saying that they can keep the 25th line going forever, I don't think so. The most popular years were 82-87 after that there were only a handful of good figures.
I mean they can single card the 7 packs and the comic packs in the future to keep the line going, and will repaint them just to piss off the collectors, but really there aren't many characters left that are popular to the MAJORITY of the fans.
I figure that there is 80-100 unique characters tops, that are popular to the majority of fans, and most have been made. BigErn: Quote:

2) Possibly
3) Definitely Sigma6_fan85: doesn't make sense..it says friday 25th but 25th is on a satureday....but then 12am 1am would be satureday. Tomax & Xamot: Awesome!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this is true!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the info!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jmacq1: Quote:

I wasn't on this site when it happened, but judging from what I saw on other sights, DDP's run on G.I. Joe suddenly went from "pretty cool" to "OMFG THIS IS TEH SUCK!" right about the time they started killing off established characters. A.V.A.C.: oh yeah, other than fox, adult swim is the best for "toons". can't wait to see the whole thing. i've seen the trailer and it is gritty and crunchy, thank-you tit-mouse!!! Fierce Krypton: dang, this means there isnt going to be much press... just show it and its over, no time for people to catch on and watch, kinda a shame. Shin Densetsu: Quote: |

| Don't count on that. Fierce Krypton: Ok.... I must ask... does this channel come in HD with comcast? If not I am gonna be ticked! shlappyguy: Cool to hear-- I hope it ends up online somewhere soon, as I don't have a television. NSA: Popular Television shows, popular among young-to-middle-aged males, ending up online at some point?
Fat chance! spazzy: Cool got my calendar marked.
Also for Robot Chicken SW II, almost forgot about that. zartan2010: Well I have my fingers crossed it does make sense that it would be shown on adult swim since it supposed to be a lot more violent than original cartoon with some of the joes and cobras getting killed off. MeLikeJinx: Wow... I might have to buy Resolute Duke now. LOL. Shin Densetsu: Quote: |

| I think 4/29 is the date that it goes on the Adult Swim site for streaming. SNAKE EYES: Quote:

Smurf: i want this to be true, but i wont put much into it until i see it. the people at adult swim have some crude humor and this would be a good way for them to tick people off. but adult swim is the best place for it, they could do the first as a pilot, then do 15 min shows like robot chicken and others. Gunzlingr: For christ's sake, look at the schedule people. If it is a 15 minute show, it is scheduled for 15 minutes, not a half hour let alone an hour and a half. I have also never known them to joke around with the schedule other than 1 April Fools a few years back where they said they were going to start showing only Saved By the Bell during the [as] block. Nemesis_Enforcer: If this is true, I'm happy. Hotstuff_LouieB: In the words of 3P0. "Oh thank the maker!" bryan_f_davis: Quote:

When you get to the hotel that night, open the lap top, and enjoy resolute before bed. VIPER 48: I will be tuning in to watch it. It will be the day after my Birthday...! guillermoarce: this sounds like april fools day prank i dont buy it Shin Densetsu: Quote: |

Some kind of official announcement.
It's very weird... Shin Densetsu: We have 2 weeks before premiere, there is time for commercials. The Conflict: im excited about resolute finally being aired but after that whats next? I feel to many people are under the assumption that resolute will turn out a fulltime series and alot of figures. I honestly dont see that happening. Ive said it before and i'll say it again, people might be putting to much hope behind resolute, thinking it will preserve the old ARAH look and feel. I would love for resolute to become a full series but most likely it wont and they will create some horribly drawn cartoon that resembles ROC more than anything else. That would be the most profitable and logical thing for them to do since ROC is the new face of gi joe. Shin Densetsu: Quote: |

| I disagree. Since Resolute consists of short episodes, it wouldn't interfere with a movie influenced mainline cartoon. A new series after the movie could be on during the day time, while Resolute could be shown at night/online via the Resolute site/Adult Swim site.
It's a win/win situation for both Hasbro and fans, kids and adults. Keeps both parties happy and is more profitable than picking one over the other. In this way money is made from both. DarthBrett: Looking forward to seeing this finally air! I really have a feeling that this will be a really cool and overall highly entertaining cartoon. Hopefully it is a hit and a regular series gets made (probably way more likely if the movie is a big hit). ironknife: holy crap holy crap holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Conflict: Quote:

In this way money is made from both. | You make a good point, but what exactly would motivate hasbro or whoever,to continue resolute pass the initial hour? I strongly doubt it would be for us ARAH fans who would make up the majority of resolute viewers. If they cared so much about the adult fans, why did they end the modern era line? I know i'd rather have the modern era line continue over a potencial resolute line. Now dont get me wrong, I think resolute will be cool but Im noticing alot of people acting as if resolute is going to be the new face of gi joe,I just think resolute is going to be a one shot deal, a one hour gi joe cartoon with no continuing series or future figures to follow. | All times are GMT -4. The time now is 03:10 AM. | | Cool Stuff | | |
