G.I. Joe Resolute Premieres On Adult Swim 4/25 Picture-2
For fans wondering when G.I. Joe Resolute would finally premiere, wait no further, it will premiere on the 25th of this month! Cartoon Network's Adult Swim has it on schedule for 12AM-1:30AM, on the night of Friday April 24th, which is actually April 25th.

We have had no word from Hasbro with regards to this, however we do have something to look forward to later this month!

Yo Joe!

    Something seems off..

an hour and a half time slot?

What happened to only being 60 minutes in total and 5 minute episodes?

(edited out about the time, got my days confused)

Edit: I'm wondering if they just completely retooled it. That's why it was "delayed". They just took the original story and made a movie out of it, instead of a bunch of episodes.
BigErn:
Best news I've read in awhile, awesome. Sounds like they're showing the whole thing, that's an unexpected treat.

The extra half hour is for commercials.
Nemesis*Prime:
If this is correct I'm estatic, if it's another prank I'm gonna be pissed.

I was hoping we'd be able to see the whole thing at once anyway.
shdwknt:
this would be CRAZY.. the worst part - i will be in a hotel in canada prepping for a toy show.. I will miss it - dvr is a good thing.. but shit still wont be home till late sunday.. probably wont get to see it until monday!
tkprime:
    About Frakking Time!
Lucs:
Man glad this wasn't posted yesterday, I would have thought it to be an April Fool's joke. Still it's odd that it hasn't been announced by Hasbro yet or had any commercials. Guess I'll take this news with a grain of salt.

Good spot though, especially if it's true

My thoughts exactly! Please, please, please let this be true.
JoeFanatic:

CobraRebellion:
    yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssss ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COBRAVAMPIRE:
    This information excites me.
TK1945:
I kinda figured Hasbro was being mum about this because it was in negotiations with someone to air it.

Why air something for free if you can sell it?
xhairs:
    oh cant wait.
DESTRO:
This is the real deal! I can't wait to see this show!
Mr Duke Togo:
Does anyone know where this listing was actually found? I can't find any tv schedules that go out any farther than the 16th.

Kalibus:
Awesome! I love adult swim. Some of my favorite shows(Robot Chicken, Adv. Bros., SuperJail) and now G.I. Joe. Sweeeeet!
arc30:
    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! That's my B-Day! That's all I need baby.
green_shirt:
I will gladly take one movie over a bunch of episode any day
HInsider:
12am is some primo air time.

    It's linked on the frontpage.

Also folks, this is 1 HOUR & A 1/2 long!
Chigger58:
Best Joe news in a loooooong time! This had better be true although it's really weird neither the network or Hasbro has come out and said anything. My buddy can't find anything for CN schedule wise that goes out that far so we're interested to see where the info came from.
I have to agree that this is great to hear that it will be on tv instead of online too. I just hope this isn't all they have planned but it sounds like all the webisodes were put together for one shot. Hope they plan on pumping out a lot of eps once this thing takes off.

That's what you get when a Terrorist Organization is shown using Nuke's in a G.I. Joe Cartoon.

The night time version of Cartoon Network starting later at night. Think Nick at Nite only with cartoons still and more mature.
Yo Broseph!:
Adult Swim rules! It may not be a great time slot, but Adult Swim has a big following and has made a number of properties pretty successful and has brought a bunch of Japanese Anime shows to U.S. popularity. This is good news for Joe Fans. Way better than Spike.
karamazov80:
Yeah, they decided against the mini-episodes, I guess?

    Thanks man.

I also read the original post from yesterday. So this started as an April Fool's joke and now its suddenly real? Not sure I buy it. I hope I'm wrong but I'll wait until an "official" announcement is made.

Thanks Shin for the front page credit

The April fools joke that I started that turned out to be real, and I almost went with Spike since that rumor has been floating around the Tank for awhile, but I figured I would go with CN's Adult Swim since the company that is animating G.I. Joe Resolute also does Metalocalypse which airs on adult swim also.

Then with some help from jedicrippler we find out this joke was no joke my friends, but now it is an actual release date for Resolute

That's not all that impressive when there's a lot more offensive scenes in cartoons that air between 7 and 9 on Sunday nights.

Yeah but they aren't G.I. Joe cartoons nor written by Warren Ellis.

    Still might.

But it's still very very odd that there's no official announcement or word.

I've heard of shows premiering under the radar, but not this under...
Yo Broseph!:
The other positive is that a lot of Adult Swim shows have been successful enough to sustain multiple seasons. The core built in audience of Adult Swim viewers that are (non-joe fans...or lapsed joe fans) can really add some numbers to the following if it's as good as it looks.

I wouldn't be surprised if they wait to launch it after the first season airs, and offer streaming videos of each episode there. I don't know if further seasons are planned, I just said season because it's shorter than saying "first episodes that amount to an hour but the last one is 10 minutes long with the others being 5 minutes long".

    yup okay

Hasbro took what it could get. That's all there is to it.
kingsurlycrab:
Man, I really hope Adult Swim puts this on iTunes... I don't even own a TV, haven't for almost 10 years, nevermind cable. Well, I suppose there's always, ahem, other methods... Though I would prefer simultaneous iTunes or DVD release.

    Awesome!!!!
Yo Broseph!:
It's late at night because Cartoon Network's programming shifts dramatically from children to adult starting at 11:00pm if i recall correctly.

    Let me re-ask the question...

Why is it not on during a children's timeslot like after school? Is Resolute not kid-friendly?
Shin Densetsu:

It's on during a time when most kids are asleep and most adults and older fans are awake. Cartoon Network does this with most of their anime, and has done this for more mature animated movies in the past, with more violence than something like Ben 10 or Pokemon.

Ellis is a great choice. Excellant writer. One of the best out there today.

Man, just imagine what he could do if given the Joe comic to create/write...

    No, it's not kid-friendly.

Get to watch Snake-Eyes put his sword thru an enemy that's already on the ground. Great stuff.

No, it's a more violent version of the cartoon. Grittier, people die, all that jazz. It's not for younger kids.
