BTW am I the only one that thinks Duke looks like a young Batou (From Ghost in the shell)

airborne rocks too..... Man I'm feeling this. It looks to me like the perfect update to the old classic. Our GI Joe all grown up.

I agree. ITs too sigma six in the look. I never liked the anime stuff and Destro looks ridiculous. Firefly looks like hes about to chow down atr a rib hut with that dumb lookin bib thing. Airborne is about the only one who looks decent AND WHY DOES SNAKE EYES HAVE PANTS?!!!!! C'mon people. We can do without all the funktified stuff and get back to basics. no weird vest for duke, no pants for ol' snakey and give destro his IG look if ya don;t wanna do the old school outfit...not a freakin mafia coat and robot arm. LAME.!!!!

I know you feel that they are "sigma six-ish." Having seen the clip first hand at JoeCon 3 times (as I've said before) it is NOTHING like sigma six. It is far more real world military in nature in terms of the character's outfits. Duke is wearing realistic body armor with ammo pouches. Firefly is wearing a protective "EOD bib" to shield his body in case whatever explosive he is setting (after all, he is a saboteur) goes off. (though it would make more sense for him to wear a full suit in that case.) I'm going to take a wild guess and say he probably doesn't wear that all the time. Snake Eyes . . . honestly, with his role and the kind of violence he pulls off . . . he could wear a damn tutu and it wouldn't matter. But, yes, he wears pants, not tights. Looks every bit the commando he's supposed to be.

I get the point that you don't like "anime" style animation, but it's not anywhere near as bad as you're making it out to be. The characters are a lot more serious and edgy in the toon. There is nothing about it that would be considered "kiddy." There is minimal exaggeration in the character proportions. (Except Destro . . . I will totally give you that, I'm not sold on his look yet . . . depends on how he plays out in the toon.) Please trust those of us that saw it. There hasn't been a single naysayer of those that have seen it, even people that don't like "anime."

Well I'll check it out when it hits but So far, realistic or not, its not winnin me over.

And believe me I like Scarlett's backside!! lol
But I'd also like to see what's going on front-wise so I can appreciate ALL of Scarlett!!

Hello, thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I am writing about the forthcoming GI Joe Resolute animation that your studio is producing. From what I've seen online, it is going to be great! While I could not make it to the SDCC, I have seen some photos of the still character images you've had on display there. Sadly we can't get a very good look at most of them without actually being there in person. I am writing to ask if you could please post those character sheets, or any other goodies, online for us fans to get a better look at them? I know that you've got a serious fan base out here and we'd all love to see more of the animation! I do understand, however, if this is not possible.

Yeah, Firefly's "bib" is just some type of Kevlar vest. I'm sure it helps him not die if and when he's planting explosives and they accidently explode, or ya know, in case he's shot at.
I think Duke's vest resembles a modern US military vest. It's probably kevlar, and those appear to be ammo pouches on the front. That's pretty standard design and issue.
Personally, I like the use of pants on SE, too. I've gotten over the tights look, and dig the more military look of the BDUs.

From the way the promo went, and from what they said they toon will be like, I wouldn't be surprised to see firefly working on a bomb, it explode, and just have the "bib" and pieces of his uniform left. lol

They are going to be the same size as the 25th Anniversary figures.
So are the Movie figures, all Joe is retaining the 25th Scale as Hasbro has said that is the new set standard size for Joes in 2009+...

Animation is by Titmouse... A Hollywood CA based company. It's not Japanese or even qualifies as Anime as you are thinking of it. Titmouse did the opening animation for Avatar: The Last Airbender & Afro Samurai.

man that would be so sick!! highly-articulated 8" (sigma-style, minus all the holes and "power-suit" look of course) RESOLUTE figures!? I'd be ultra-broke for years if that happens.

3-3/4" but 8" figures with realistic proportions would be AWESOME. Damn it I miss the Sigma 6 line.

NOW, I want to see a new mold YF-23 Skystriker...man oh man that would rule. Since this cartoon is aimed at us older folk, I hope if we get the YF-23, its aimed at us too with no light and sound gimmicks that blow up the proportions. I likes my 23 sleek and sexiez

Destro looks too fat to me.

I'm very happy with the look of this so far. I'm also glad to see that this is being updated to represent our modern military. No more Cold War era gear or superhero tights. This is GI Joe for the modern age. I love it!

Firefly, Duke and Snake-Eyes look the best to me so far. I'm really digging Firefly's EOD vest.

Destro looks cool, kind of like a metallic Benito Mussolini.

I still don;t dig that whole pants thing with snake eyes. IT just doesnt seem right. Duke I can deal but firefly should have something more akin to his agility and not a big bulky bomb blast vest. And destro...well the sigma six look didnt work then and and it dont work now. IS a suit of body army a saber and a red cape that difficult? :>

V1 and V3 SE both had BDU pants that are very, very similar to the pants that SE is wearing. That SE has a much more military/commando look. Granted, I think he should be wearing a similar top, or one of the British Commando sweater tops rather than the form fitting top.
I'm kind of indifferent about Destro. That long coat does give him a very military look. That coat and collar are very similar to WWII German officer long coats, and even Cold War era Russian long coats. To me,it kinda makes sense for the leader of an international illegal arms dealing syndicate to be wearing a coat like that. He kind of has a "Second World" dictator look.
Again, I like the military look this is taking, rather than the super hero look of tights, open chest shirts, and whatever else.

Pretty safe assumption that most, if not all, of this crap will wind up like the sigma six line -- peg warming shelves many, many months after it's release. I'm not at all impressed with what I've seen thus far.

FAN-tastic! G.I.Joe in any form is great to me and these look just perfect. Airborn's chest holster brings to mind the captured joes from the old cartoon that would always retain their guns/grenades, but I'm sure Titmouse won't do that... I hope

yeah but who wants to venture a guess which "classic beloved" characters take a dirt nap in the first episode. Sadly...since hes the most classic lookin character...imma vote Airborne MAY bite the dust.

I love it! Finally a worthy update to the 80's cartoon! Can't wait for the 1st episode!

Remember these are just lil mini webisodes(which personally i think is lame to make em web based) then MAYBE they might put em on cartoon network, then MAYBE it might get a normal series. lotta maybes not enough defintelies.

I'm was ready to see this cartoon when the news broke out , now after seeing the pics i freaking extatic about ! Damn its gonna be nice to see another joe show on tv!

Awesomeness. I'm really stoked the Metalocalypse guys are behind this animation; we'll get some brutal action going.
I love the commando look Snake Eyes, and Duke is looking better than that grandpappy 'ol WWII pathfinder outfit he wore in the sunbow series. That looks more like a spec ops custom job body armor/load carrying harness than your standard Army IBA vest, and I'm all for it.

I'm glad we're getting adult themed animation; the kids already have Sigma Six and classic ARAH toons will be coming with lots of the toys so I don't think they're missing out on anything.

haha I was just thinking the exact same thing, I saw the concept of airborne and the first thing that popped in my head was "He's gonna die"

I'm shocked. Modern animated charaters that actually, y'know, look human!!
Better not get attatched to anybody though, especially if they're going to insist on wiping characters out just to make it 'real'....

I don't recall Destro ever being so aligned with Cobra that he wore a large Cobra emblem on his chest.

He looks like Cobra Commander wearing a Destro Mask. Not a good look for the character.

The rest are decent. Some seem quite understated.
