These are not all that exist, and the Hasbro staff said their scattered and hidden placement was done on purpose. To "tease" us. Which, in fact, it does. Fooey.
Included in this round are full shots of Snake Eyes, Duke, and Firefly. We have full shots of the new FLAGG as well. Partial shots of Scarlett, Storm Shadow, Destro, and Airborne are in there too.

LAME.!!!! | I know you feel that they are "sigma six-ish." Having seen the clip first hand at JoeCon 3 times (as I've said before) it is NOTHING like sigma six. It is far more real world military in nature in terms of the character's outfits. Duke is wearing realistic body armor with ammo pouches. Firefly is wearing a protective "EOD bib" to shield his body in case whatever explosive he is setting (after all, he is a saboteur) goes off. (though it would make more sense for him to wear a full suit in that case.) I'm going to take a wild guess and say he probably doesn't wear that all the time. Snake Eyes . . . honestly, with his role and the kind of violence he pulls off . . . he could wear a damn tutu and it wouldn't matter. But, yes, he wears pants, not tights. Looks every bit the commando he's supposed to be.
I get the point that you don't like "anime" style animation, but it's not anywhere near as bad as you're making it out to be. The characters are a lot more serious and edgy in the toon. There is nothing about it that would be considered "kiddy." There is minimal exaggeration in the character proportions. (Except Destro . . . I will totally give you that, I'm not sold on his look yet . . . depends on how he plays out in the toon.) Please trust those of us that saw it. There hasn't been a single naysayer of those that have seen it, even people that don't like "anime." Blade: Well I'll check it out when it hits but So far, realistic or not, its not winnin me over. Steel Brigade: And believe me I like Scarlett's backside!! lol

Hello, thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I am writing about the forthcoming GI Joe Resolute animation that your studio is producing. From what I've seen online, it is going to be great! While I could not make it to the SDCC, I have seen some photos of the still character images you've had on display there. Sadly we can't get a very good look at most of them without actually being there in person. I am writing to ask if you could please post those character sheets, or any other goodies, online for us fans to get a better look at them? I know that you've got a serious fan base out here and we'd all love to see more of the animation! I do understand, however, if this is not possible.

OH, and Steel Brigade, I've been wondering this forever, what is that Scarlett quote of yours from??? Steel Brigade: That letter sounds good to me! GGPiKE: I encourage the letter writing. I seriously hope they release the promo clip . . . I just want all of you who haven't had an opportunity to see to be able to. SolidSnakeEyes: Yeah, Firefly's "bib" is just some type of Kevlar vest. I'm sure it helps him not die if and when he's planting explosives and they accidently explode, or ya know, in case he's shot at.
I think Duke's vest resembles a modern US military vest. It's probably kevlar, and those appear to be ammo pouches on the front. That's pretty standard design and issue.
Personally, I like the use of pants on SE, too. I've gotten over the tights look, and dig the more military look of the BDUs.

I want a 3-3/4" figure of Storm Shadow....NOW!. Duke's update looks cool but I hate Duke. Bernit69: Destro looks too fat to me. NateR: I'm very happy with the look of this so far. I'm also glad to see that this is being updated to represent our modern military. No more Cold War era gear or superhero tights. This is GI Joe for the modern age. I love it!
Firefly, Duke and Snake-Eyes look the best to me so far. I'm really digging Firefly's EOD vest.
Destro looks cool, kind of like a metallic Benito Mussolini. Blade: I still don;t dig that whole pants thing with snake eyes. IT just doesnt seem right. Duke I can deal but firefly should have something more akin to his agility and not a big bulky bomb blast vest. And destro...well the sigma six look didnt work then and and it dont work now. IS a suit of body army a saber and a red cape that difficult? :> SolidSnakeEyes: V1 and V3 SE both had BDU pants that are very, very similar to the pants that SE is wearing. That SE has a much more military/commando look. Granted, I think he should be wearing a similar top, or one of the British Commando sweater tops rather than the form fitting top.
I'm kind of indifferent about Destro. That long coat does give him a very military look. That coat and collar are very similar to WWII German officer long coats, and even Cold War era Russian long coats. To me,it kinda makes sense for the leader of an international illegal arms dealing syndicate to be wearing a coat like that. He kind of has a "Second World" dictator look.
Again, I like the military look this is taking, rather than the super hero look of tights, open chest shirts, and whatever else. Blade: yeah maybe if SE had a proper top with them pants but either full gear or go with the suit but dont mix em half in half...its looks wrong. jaxscorpio: Quote:

I love the commando look Snake Eyes, and Duke is looking better than that grandpappy 'ol WWII pathfinder outfit he wore in the sunbow series. That looks more like a spec ops custom job body armor/load carrying harness than your standard Army IBA vest, and I'm all for it.
I'm glad we're getting adult themed animation; the kids already have Sigma Six and classic ARAH toons will be coming with lots of the toys so I don't think they're missing out on anything. High Tide: Quote:

Better not get attatched to anybody though, especially if they're going to insist on wiping characters out just to make it 'real'.... miscreant: I don't recall Destro ever being so aligned with Cobra that he wore a large Cobra emblem on his chest.
He looks like Cobra Commander wearing a Destro Mask. Not a good look for the character.
The rest are decent. Some seem quite understated. |
