| Canceled GI Joe Resolute Comic Pack Crimson Trooper Preproduction Sample Images | | Posted on 06-12-2010 at 10:44 PM by Shin Densetsu | | Thanks to HISS Tank boards member ocab27 for posting images of the canceled Crimson Trooper. The figure in question came from the canceled Crimson Trooper with Iron Klaw Trooper comic pack from the Modern Era line(which featured GI Joe Resolute comic packs towards the end).
Whether the Crimson Trooper or Iron Klaw Trooper will see the light of day at retail remains to be seen, but with the parts available for use(as far as we know), who knows? Hit the title bar to see more! *EDIT: More images have been provided by ocab27, showing the Crimson Trooper unmasked!*

If anyone knows more please fill us in. Ill try and add more pics soon. Big thanx Gyre u da man !! Shin Densetsu: So THAT's the Crimson Guard from the set! Thanks for the images man! CrimsonGuard101: Ok that is most unimpressive...a regular CG head on a Resolute Trooper body and guns? Seriously Hasbro... I hope we get to see the Shadow Guard they showed on that poster at Joecon...oh they taunt me so with the Crimson Guards...so close yet sooo far! ocab27: Quote:

Could make those easy by doing a head swap. Tracker: they shouldn't have canceled that Big IV: I love the Crimson Guard Helmet, especially when it is removable! That is B.A.T.astic cool. Barefoot Jedi: The regular 25th Siegie head with the backpack and rifle on the 5-pack COBRA Commander body makes a great new look for the Crimson Guard. The reds match almost perfectly. Very easy and cool-looking lazy partswap: Steel Brigade: SICK!! The unproduced stuff never ceases to amaze me... arashikage tat: Quote:

hahahaha. The PIT proto is probably in pieces somewhere in a box
under someone's desk at Hasbro. hahahaha. They're all "now what
am I supposed to do with this thing."
lots of blank cardboard and an unpainted ping pong table. hahahahahaha.
To be honest I think it's odd that an unpainted pit wasn't on display on the tour. or maybe it was and I just didn't see it. Scotty97: Jaw=Floor! That would've been a great figure, just so long as the final paint had a cool classic feel to it. To tie the two worlds together. Awesomesauce! snakeeyes22: I like the true red that reminds me of the vintage, assuming this is close to the final production colors. Zefram: Damn, I wouldn't a minded a couple of those at all. Imagine CGs geared up for actual combat as opposed to their more ceremonial uniforms. ocab27:
Wish i had this set complete, nice to dream though Gyre-Viper: Quote:

we'll have to make a play date for them at con next year.
maybe in the declassified booth.
heheheheh. ~Synder Corps.~: Ya' know...that's actually pretty cool, and the Bro dropped the ball in NOT releasing this set
But of course, that's par for the course when it comes to CANCELLED stuff...They cancel the stuff that will sell, but then put out a multitude of GARBAGE like Nano-vipers.
They really need to fire their VP in charge of Merch.
No offense...just saying (Honestly, I woulda' but 20 of those packs, but that's just me.) Nirvana: I'll be making a pair of Res CGs for myself soon enough. Really wish they had gone through with that comic pack instead of canceling it. Beckley: I always wondered who was supposed to come with Iron Klaw.
I would have been all over that comic pack. mattymatt: let us have the crimson trooper, and than sell them to our friends in the uk as redshadows and bring back the af line there(there is bound to be some interest to our uk cousins)
A 5 pack exclusive to tru for say 19 usd would be nice thanks hasbro for not listening CrimsonGuard101: Hasbro knew you could easily kitbash this and thought why release it since we are shitcanning Resolute for good. Just go to TRU and buy a ton of those 25th/ME CG 5 packs (still thousands out there still today) and order a bunch of the Cobra Reso 7 packs or buy the bulk of them available on ebay and do a quick head swap LOL...I am sure thats why Hasbro nixed him...has to be the cheapest kitbash they have shown us to date...or if your a true completist you can pick up the Scar Trooper with Fred comic pack so you can have the removable head or some Hall of Fame GS...same difference.
Now that Iron Klaw is awesome. I have the kit from Alyosha to make that one if I ever get around to painting it! tycondrius: you know will little effort on hasbro's part they coulda turned them into red shadow Troopers . then again looking at the pack and the colors chosen that what they may of entended you know has bro and the repaintasourus to make diffrent characters KingBiohazerd: I would have love to get these but all the cool stuff get canceled Colonel Bludd: there is nothing impressive about that crimson guard kit bash crap. Please stop lying to yourselves. The Klaw I would give a pass to even though all they really did was mold a new head and put it on a destro body. I would have bought the comic pack for that figure. KushViper: What a shame! I would have loved to get a couple of these. Is it me or do they seem to cancel a lot of the coolest stuff? Beckley: [QUOTE=CrimsonGuard101;1731137Just go to TRU and buy a ton of those 25th/ME CG 5 packs (still thousands out there still today) and order a bunch of the Cobra Reso 7 packs or buy the bulk of them available on ebay and do a quick head swap LOL...[/QUOTE]
Instead of the Resolute 7 packs you could use the Red Troopers from the Resolute 5 packs.
Those sets are cheaper and you wouldn't have to paint them. CallMeChuckles: It's a head swap. That's all. I guess head swaps are news these days... Gyre-Viper: Quote:

It's a concept test-shot that's never been seen before.
Even the test-shot colours differ from the red Resolute Trooper (as pictured). (and yes, that matters... these toys don't make themselves).
And it's the missing piece to the Iron Klaw set which was front paged as
well as no one had seen that before either.
It's a missing piece of Joe history. Mr.Kane: I'm sure they'll pop up again some where down the line. CrimsonGuard101: Quote:

It's a missing piece of Joe history. | Unfortuantley theres 2 sides to joe history- actual product and cancelled product. The cancelled stuff really dosent matter becuase well.. it was cancelled if I kept up with everything that was cancelled for every toy line, my collection would be pretty bare and I would be totally broke if I had a chance to buy such figures, if an dhwne they show up it was either huge money to obtain or somehow somone walked away with one for free. They just don't do anything for me. rocker82: I'm very skeptical of that Resolute version of the Crimson Guard,Hasbro would've done a better version of it. Gyre-Viper: Quote:

Or something that was canceled might have inspired something new
OR something that was canceled might have inspired something
else that came out around the same time and just that got canned.
heheheheh. Quote:

1. it came from the same source as the Iron Klaw.
(I should know... I found them both).
2. it looks like the comic MunkyX: Wow... like others above have said... TRU Crimson Guard 5pks... Resolute 5pks... instant Resolute Guard. I did that some time last year... made 10 of them. Easy. MrClean: Quote:

2. it looks like the comic | Thanks for posting that image! I had never seen the comic before. I wonder if this means it was supposed to come with a parachute harness similar to the best of 80's paratrooper. ocab27: not sure if they went in the right order minstrelboy: I like the milky-white colored face shield of that CC too. The comic looked really interesting, like nothing seen before. Cobra_Seph: man.. honestly its a pity to see good stuff canceled. worst part is.. once you see it.. you know you want it. tsk.. (Hasbro) when will you guys learn... Draikar: Would the Crimson Guard have looked some what like this ?
