SDCC 2009 Exclusive G.I.Joe Movie Destro James McCullen

sdcc-destro-0900016
HISS Tank.com has just received the SDCC 2009 G.I. Joe Movie Rise Of Cobra Destro James McCullen action figure. Like his ancestors, James McCullen is a brilliant designer of military weapons using cutting-edge technology that advances the art of warfare. McCullen's egotistical arrogance comes from the knowledge that he has the intelligence, wealth and power to shape world events according to his personal design.

DESTRO:
This is one set that everybody who collects G.I. Joe needs to own. It has a very cool outline of Destro's family tree and you get to own James McCullen IX the very first Destro. Very cool package, art and figures.

There are 2 boxes a protective box and the inner "Book Style" Box. The sticker is on the back of the Book Box.
Zigga304:
this is def one of the coolest exclusives i've seen, from the figures to the packaging...this is one awesome set!!! i need to get 2 of these!!
ctrvl:
Hm...the blueprints show a Cobra Gunship and 4 (5 if you include the launched vehicle) new vehicles. I wonder if we'll be seeing those in the future? The update AWE Striker-looking vehicle looks amazing.

Actually, all of them do.
Steel Brigade:
Love everything but the "tape" on the flag...
Hopefully I will be able to get him on HTS after SDCC.

Ah, thanks. Great pics.

According to the blueprint, our Destro died in 1993 and then Eccleston Destro took over.

Dawg99:
wicked set gonna have to get my hands on one somehow
samjjones:
The thing on the lower right hand corner of the blueprints looks like a fricking space shuttle playset!
VIPER 48:
That is a set i want really bad...
samjjones:
I'm guessing we're not going to see the ancestor Destro in retail, but we will definitely see Destro in business suit released in some easily accessible way. Its a neat sculpt that will sell well.

That's the ROCC playset.
JustinX:
I just got a MIB ROCC last month st a Joe show in CT for $30... I opened it up and it is nice... I bet the new one will cost twice what I just paid.
steve2477:
This is a fantastic set, i'd love one. The blueprint vehicles are all mostly Sigma six vehicles, except for the new Cobra gunship. Cool, on the blueprints it say that the previous Destro died 1993 and he utilized connections in Sierra Gordo, thats like tings that destro did in the Marvel comics run in issues 70, 71 and others.
CobraCrimson:
Hopefully we see those vehicles made into toys somewhere along the ROC line, soon hopefully! Especially the Cobra Helicopter Gunship & the Launch Setup with Ship.
Deefuzz:
Wow that is really nice!

Well, we have seen all of those vehicles in one form or another.

The Cobra gunship is currently on shelves (RoC).

The ROCC can still be found on eBay, Amazon, etc...but would be nice to see a re-release.

The Dragonhawk and jeep like vehicle (bottom middle) are both Sigma 6 2.5 vehicles...wait! as is the other dune runner one.

They have already been made, the open launcher vehicle with jet is the ROCC.
Dr. Spitesworth:
Am I reading that timeline right? A McCullen died in a plane crash... in the mid 19th century? I guess the clan really was ahead of its time!
Thal J.:
That is a very nice set, wish I was going this year and had the money.
samjjones:
Not really familiar with the DTC line, as I was oblivious to Joe goings-on from 1988-2008.

Looking at it, looks like Hasbro is re-using all of these molds for the movie line. The DTC Hiss looks pretty rad.
DestroHedPolish:
Well this is a no brainer for me...must...own!!
Syn3sthesia:
How much are these bad boys gonna cost?
Gyre-Viper:
looks like destro comes with more accessories than my test shot.
grrrrr. oh well was gonna buy one anyways
dsrader:
Very Nice!! I want 4!!!
LeeMarvin80:
This Destro set is the first exclusive I've ever seen that I really would like to own. How much do you guys think the set will go for online after San Diego? I've also heard that past exclusives have been offered on Hasbro To Shop. Any truth to that and is it going to be the case this year?
agentmorris:
Here's to hoping its on HTS after SD Comic Con!

Lee, what you heard is indeed correct - in many instances, exclusives from SDCC are available the following Monday on HTS.

The secondary market price? Hard to gauge as of yet. The only times we've seen this item listed is through the China Market. I personally won't pay more than $50 for it...so hopefully it's not an arm & a leg.

It often depends on how many are left after the Con. The 2008 SDCC Transformer exclusive Nemesis Prime is still on HTS.

I think that they only have AFA graded Nemesis Primes available right now, though he did take a little while to sell out after San Diego. It really depends on production numbers- hopefully Hasbro realizes that this will be a popular set, and will make a decent amount of them.

This is a pretty cool set. I hope Hasbro considers the fact that this suit sculpt could be easily used to make suited Tomax and Xamot, as well as Headman.
