Pursuit Of Cobra Rip Attack Vehicles Wave 2 And Possible Dreadknok Cycle Plus Retooled Ghost HAWK

Pursuit Of Cobra Rip Attack Vehicles Wave 2 And Possible Dreadknok Cycle Plus Retooled Ghost HAWK POC-Ghost-Hawk
Remember that pilot Firefly figure from Rise of Cobra with the Elite Viper head that we showed you last month? Well it turns out, our initial hunch was correct and that figure is legit after all. Yet that isn't the biggest news update for today....

As reported by HISS Tank boards member Gyre-Viper, we are getting even more new, previously unannounced vehicles for G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra!. Pursuit of Cobra vehicles are already shaping up to be more exciting than the Rise of Cobra vehicles, with the designs not limited to movie appearances, but this time, the imagination of the design team! Troynos has also elaborated with more details. The intel is as follows:
  • We are getting another wave of Rip Attack Vehicles
  • New winged hovercraft with Snake Eyes w/Matt Trakker mask
  • Cobra ski mobile with Elite Viper w/pilot Firefly body
That's not all, we are also getting the following:
  • All new motorcycle(could this be a new Dreadknok cycle?)*EDIT* CONFIRMED as new Dreadknok Cycle!
  • Retooled Ghost HAWK
Now we haven't seen the Ghost HAWK since the Modern Era line, and being that Hasbro only used the mold for one paint scheme, it seemed inevitable that it would return eventually. More surprising was that it did not make an appearance in the Rise of Cobra line. That all changes now, as it has been significantly retooled! Details on the new Ghost HAWK are as follows:
  • Same body, canopy, and chin cannons
  • Engine intakes are now blocky instead of cylindrical
  • New landing skids
  • Missle launchers replace removable missles on the side
  • New stabilizers(horizontal/vertical aft of engines)
  • Comes with repaint of Lift Ticket, possibly with a new head
*UPDATE* Gyre-Viper has passed along more information. The cycle is a Dreadknok Cycle indeed! Also, the Ghost HAWK might be a cancelled Rise of Cobra item, yet since the tooling was already made, chances are it might see an appearance in the Pursuit of Cobra line. Remember, Hasbro only used that mold once before, for the Modern Era line, and tooling new parts costs money, so don't be surprised if we see this new Ghost HAWK later this fall. Click on the title bar to see all of the new vehicles!

G.I. JOE THE RISE OF COBRA COLLECTION LOOES FIGURE RARE - eBay (item 150405257454 end time Jan-14-10 20:25:27 PST)

this is a rip attack wave 2 figure.
the other will be snake eyes with what I think was a matt tracker mask.
I urged toyssir to post pics as soon as possible because she also has
a new ghost hawk and some weird motorcycle I don't think any of us (except the super secret hasbro squad) has seen before.
anyways... I wanted to admit I was wrong about this figure when
e-only on ebay first posted pics. I didn't think hasbro could kitbash
so poorly and sloppily and blatantly... not like this... this guy looks
like firefly and little debbie had a baby. oh well. I admit I was wrong.
string me up. beat me down.

this is NEWS so I put this here. mods feel free to move it.
hopefully toyssir will post pics soon.

New Ghost Hawk? Details, man, Details!

Rip Attack Wave 2? Shouldn't they wait to see wave 1 bomb before they commit to wave 2? (Sorry, I just don't forsee these things doing too well).

it's got ROC-style updates. more 'futuristic' a la the gunship and
has spring loaded weapons. not my pics to post so alas you'll have
to wait. I'd buy it to take pics but I'm moving (FINALLY) so I'm up to my ears in boxes and mailing address switching craziness.
Steel Brigade:
    ...well well well...
wishfulthinking:
the Ghost Hawk update sounds cool. I look forward to seeing what it'll look like.
Firebomber8:
I hate spring fired missiles, they cheapen the look of the toy too me.

I agree great way to ruin a good thing.
Troynos:
The missiles all depend on how they are used, what they look like.

I need pictures of this new Ghost H.A.W.K.
Zoltron:
    Crapitty crap crap.

How many times are they gonna use that elite viper head?
CdtWeasel:
Wait a second. I missed something.

What happened to the cat poop?

Yes to both. I use the Night Raven without the missile banks loaded and it looks better for it. I use the Dragon... whatever helicopter and it looks fine with and without the missile banks popped out.

notpicard:
Was the helmet and gear painted on the one you saw? It seems kind of lame if it isn't painted. I guess it could be worse...they could just include a figure already released minus the accessories like they did with rip attack wave 1.

Honestly, I think the figure looks better with the helmet and vest off. But on the ones on eBay, there is HFE on the chest, with just the H burned in as well as colored with a marker.

What does this new Ghost HAWK have? Is it mainly the Ghost HAWK but with new weapons, or does it have extensive retooling? I figured it was only a matter of time before Hasbro used it again.

Also yet ANOTHER Snake Eyes in the Rip Attack sets? Wow
CdtWeasel:
Ya know, I think Gyre is to blame for this crappy looking figure. He keeps spending tons on all those prototype figures. Hasbro was keeping tabs, and figured there was a market for figures made from random pieces and colors, and now here we are. Thanks gyre. Thanks for killin teh line.

the body and canopy and under-guns are the same.
    but it is
retooled as far as the "thrusters" go... the "thrusters" are square-ish
kinda like jet packs... not cylindrical.
the landing gear is different... more "mech-y" than standard.

the detachable missiles on the side replaced with launchers.

    the tail is different too.

looks like we're getting a repaint of lift ticket... might be a new head
but the proto pic is kinda blurrry around the face.

They are usually removable, so in my opinion no harm no foul

The missiles launchers are usually easy to remove, so we get a vehicle with no missile launchers after we take them off and the kids get a vehicle they can have missile launchers on and shoot their cat with
FireFly76:
    Ugh.
Gyre-Viper:
the new motorcycle thing is really odd.
my guess was dreadnok but still... it looks
like a pokemon and a go-bot made babies.
Troynos:
    All credit to Gyre.

I actually like the new rip-its. The Cobra snowmobile is very cool.
Zoltron:
They could have just repainted Trakker as Techno viper.

I bet there are a lot of single guys at Hasbro and if they keep making products like this they are gonna stay that way.
Konigstiger:
There might be some bits in/on the trike set that may be useful.
xhairs:
ummmmm like what i see time will tell if i buy them. that is if they ever come out lol.

well credit to toyssir for the pics.
and credit to troy utilizing the pics I sent him.
and credit to lift ticket for not crashing the thing.
sweeper:
Designers that smoke crack should get fired.
Freedom:
I don't think that one figure is supposed to be Snake-Eyes. At first glance maybe, but that's not a Snake-Eyes v1 head. It's a Firefly head w/ goggles on Matt Trakker's body. Once it's painted, I think it will look more like a pilot. Besides, Snake-Eyes was in the first wave.

    LOL

the nu ghost hawk kinda weird, well maybe its because I just really like the 25th version.. the dreadnok cycle should be awesome if it doesn't come with that blue thingy attached..
Nemesis*Prime:
The snowmobile and cycle look more interesting but I'd have to see more pics.
DPrime:
Wow, that new Skyhawk looks pretty cool actually. Even the missile launchers don't look too bad. The colours will make it or break it though...
Jarrod40k:
Ok. They lost me with those ripper vehicles, even with the adition of Matt Trakker. You can't just throw M.T. into any old joe vehicle. He's gotta have something CLOSE to the M.A.S.K. toys. Not dead on. Just close. And HB couldn't even give us that. Feh. I WILL, however be getting a Ghost Hawk(whatever it's called) because that is a nice mod on a fan fav vehicle. The missle launchers even look like they fit in and I probably won't be throwing them directly in the trash or "to sell" pile. Sweet. The other stuff is just not in my interest zone, really. I never really liked the Drednoks that much(may the other fanboys forgive me) and I gave up on those pull string things with my Evel Kinevel doll. Gimme more pics of those robots! Dan-ger! Dan-ger! Dan-ger!!!

It's a Matt Tracker body, helmet & arms with a Commando Snake Eyes head.

The Trike figure is all 5-pack Shipwreck body & gear, but I can't quite make out what head combo that is. Looks like maybe that's the one with ROC Baroness glasses.

Interesting stuff. Toy fair should be informative this year(hopefully).
JoeMama:
ha. those rip-it or whatevers look kinda cool.
anyone have any more detailed shots of that snowmobile?
lose the launcher, that could be kinda cool.

Look closer. On the Snake-Eyes V1 head the goggles are straight across the top. These are rounded. The lower half of the head is shaped more like Firefly's.

It looks like some kind of collar was added with a Torch head possibly bald or with a cap?

It's definitely Dreadnok whatever it is.
chickenbroth:
The motorcycle has potential, just gotta remove those weird Blade/flame things. I could see my dreadnoks rolling on those.
Big IV:
Have to see it completed and painted to pass judgement but at the moment I don't like it. Why a prominent V-Twin? Boxters rule! What are the blue icy things?
    bleh.
awatalent:
I love the cycle(agree that the blue things gotta go) I dont have a Ghost Hawk yet or a lift ticket so bring this thing on. No so crazy about the rip attack stuff. Hope we see this stuff.
Troynos:
I think the blue things are supposed to be blades of some kind.
awatalent:
they are okay, but i think it would look more realistic w/o them. Depends on how they paint it. They could look awesome with the right paint job
Shin Densetsu:
Interesting to see the Ghost HAWK molded in gray, I'd love to see it low viz or even in gray camo. One hell of a remold, the Modern Era version is already one of the best 25th vehicles, and this new one builds upon it. Excellent retool.

The Rip Attack hovercraft looks surprisingly neat, wish it had a "glass" canopy though.
artiepants:
    ew. ew. and ew.

the Dragonhawk Rip-it is bad even bad the standards of that line.

the Ghost Hawk looks redonkulous (i wondered how they were going to fit it in an Alpha box)

The core of the Trike isn't bad, but all the blades are just silly.

The snowmobile isn't a total tragedy, but i think the Rip-iTs are just lame. I had a pull-cord toy like that when i was little and i never really liked it.

Ghost Hawk looks awesome. I knew there was going to be at least one more wave of Rip-Attack vehicles but why the same 2 figures with them? I mean, is there no other figures they could use for these other than Snake Eyes & Elite-Viper? How many Snake Eyes do we really need every year anyhow, how about some other figures that have yet to be released or updated?
Bernit69:
I'm diggin these minus the snowmobile.
Gyre-Viper:
Ok just got confirmation that it is in fact a dreadnok cycle.
However the ghost hawk might be a canceled ROC
item. Which means it may not get released. But we all know
    how that goes.
Ako Roshi:
    Cycle looks kind of promising.
The 25th Skyhawk/GhostHAWK was darn near perfect. So, why Hasbro decided to muck with it boggles the mind.

Thanks to Gyre, Troynos and whoever else brought us these pics.
    Nice intel.
Ako Roshi:
    Sorry. Double post.
revsears:
I'm betting painting will make that Ghost hawk whacky. As it stands now it only needs a logo and some scorch marks to be amazing.

The rip it winged vehicle, needs a canopy.

    The nok cycle looks great!

I thought i had quit collecting? groan!
