Let's go, let's go, let's go!
Night_Force_GI_EDDO:
I'm guessing the micro force are like squinkies
RolandofGilead:
I was hoping they were like micro machine figures.
Cdt Weasel:
Probably like the star wars fighter pod line. Bad thing about that is you had to buy doubles in order to get a full collection of the star wars series.

I'm thinking the same thing. And really, that line is lame. I just don't see how this will be successful at all.
RolandofGilead:
You're right. And I was so excited.
Rhetoric:
In a way I feel bad for Hasbro, they got screwed in this whole movie fiasco. They have some nice product and now have to deal the clusterfuck.
RolandofGilead:
That was it for new stuff?
Night_Force_GI_EDDO:
Yeah, but what's the point? They don't do anything. They don't even move their arms, legs, etc.
JediJones:
These are about the best G.I. Joe Micro figures that one could expect, and even they're nothing to get excited about. That's why Hasbro gave them away free back then.

That is actually pretty cool. I wish we were getting those again.
B and H Comics:
GAWWW They could have taken the destined for clearance micro line budget and gave us articulated drivers.
fireflyguy:
GI Joe Micro, eh? I'm in!
I haven't bought the SW pods because I wasn't gonna give Georgie any more of my money, but I'll definitely buy into GI Joe stuff.

Probably not even close. They sell to differnt markets and price points so not even really related.
RolandofGilead:
*sigh!*
manicmotive:
Magic Mike photo. Even Hasbro knows that Duke is joke.

Yep. A new Micro Machines GI Joe style line, I would pick up. Squinkies will sit around as much as the chibi figures did last time.
rglass2:
Well awaiting pics to fully chime in but any Joe product out there currently is good for the brand. Yes we all have our dream figures that if we were in charge we would make, but to make it to that point Joes gotta be more in demand. It's working for the other lines, transformers, marvel, starwars, etc. so I say bring on mini figures and such if that's what it takes to see pegs and pegs of Joes, that I want, again.

Hasbro has confirmed that the variant Croc Master and Blowtorch WERE made but they don't know where they went or what happened to them.

Cobra Stickers does decent enough, but the thing is you almost always know it's a sticker. If a kid is going to play with the toy, I don't see those holding up in the long run.
manicmotive:
Yeah, I don't particularly want stickers on my figures. Guess my new CGs will just be rankless.

But the POC wave 3 Snake Eyes is already so great. What could this one possibly look like to be even better? Is it more like a realistic looking wave 1 25th Snake Eyes?

Huh. Well I hope they show up then.

What he said.
They are lost in limbo cuz of the line change so I'd assume
wherever POC 5 &6 end up (Ross etc) is where we will probably
finally end up with them.

Hmm, well thank you hasbro. But now I'm still twisting in the wind. Is it possible to get a warehouse tour? lol.
RolandofGilead:
So is everything on hold until next year, or what? Will there be any product to tide us over until the movie stuff comes out again?
Rhetoric:
Can't wait for pics~
Nightrain:
Sounds like a bullshit panel to me.
manicmotive:
If this is true, I need that Croc Master.

You have got to be kidding me. Watch for your next Chinese underground reseller eBay exclusive coming soon...

Seems like the Joe team's hands are tied until Toy Fair due to the delay. Doesn't surprise me. It isn't like Hasbro's PR department is going to prioritize a bunch of hardcore fans over retail buyers.
RolandofGilead:
I don't believe it. We would have seenu hem pop up from Chinese sellers on eBay if they ever actually existed.
Konigstiger:
DG Joes info, yo?
B and H Comics:
no comments on the dollar store joes?

Comeon RoG, surely you of all people know the timeframes involved with developing toys for retail.
Because seriously...anyone that was thinking there was going to be "tide us over" product in the interim surely doesn't. It's a minimum of 6 months to go from concept to shelves, and that's for something that is ONLY a basic repaint of an existing figure. For an "all new" or "significantly new" character, it's closer to a year or a year and a half.
The only thing they might have been able to do is reshuffle the assortments to put out a wave of "non movie" figures in movie packaging, but then they're cutting into product they want to sell as "movie product" so...yeah, it was a very long shot to begin with. I'm not at all surprised, and anyone that was seriously hoping for interim product was carrying a case of unrealistic expectations.

Through no fault of the Joe development team, but yes.
Corporate has basically told them "don't show off anything new until Toy Fair." They can't do anything about that.
It is absofuckinglutely pathetic that they're already telling us "Wait until Toy Fair!" in goddamn JUNE, but again...that's not the fault of the guys sitting here at the panel.
Nor is it their fault that one of the only things they -can- show off is a line that most of us probably won't give a hoot about (the micro-line).
But yes, as others have noted: Nothing on the Dollar Store Joes? Somebody ask some questions!
Also, it was advertised there would be TWO "major reveals"...which is the second one? :P
RolandofGilead:
I understand the details, I was just hoping that they could either move up production of something they already had in the pipeline for after the movie (unlikely I know), or increase production of the Dollar General Joes and distribute them more widely. Hopefully including more of the rumored variations. That's not entirely unlikely.
GI C:
It sound like we won't see anything joe related at SDCC.
Nirvana:
Yes, because those quick 4-packs on Amazon looked like it took a long time to develop a box with art and a tray with bagged figures. Until Black CC for Retaliation showed up (meaning all 4 singles were essentially the same as their Wave 1 versions), that box was doing well in sales and Renegades was doing very well.
The model has been tested and works. Give us some quick 4-pack to 7-pack box sets to fill a need now and develop the more collector looking window box 7-packs later for other items. They could probably do two 4-packs of just all of their Zombies and see how well the market takes them. There were plenty of army builders there to justify multiple purchases.

There's always Sideshow.

To echo a few others... No info on the DG joes? I'm holding off on buying a set at ebay prices until I see if they are coming to a store that I actually have in my state...

Yeah, I'm a little concerned that no mention at all was made of the Dollar Joes. Expect those figures to start shooting waaaay up in secondary market price now. :P
But again, even an "increase production" order wouldn't hit shelves for a few months. And retailers still have to buy them.

Granting all of that, they still could've explained why there is an entire line of awesome figures in a display case that won't be produced and what they plan to do about it. Unless that's some other panel?
Xenos:
I will be buying very many of those Night Landings. That is so sweet.
