Joe movie, not a propaganda film, there are already enough of those out there, we don't need propaganda tainting our franchise. | So are you agreeing with me or not? I can't tell. haha! Rocky: According to IMDB the Chain of Command is as follows:
Brian Goldner Executive ~ Producer
Lorenzo di Bonaventura ~ Producer
Bob Ducsay ~ Producer
Stephen Sommers Director
"Now the Director is the principal creative artist on a movie set. A director is usually the driving artistic source behind the filming process, and communicates to actors the way that he/she would like a particular scene played. A director's duties might also include casting, script editing, shot
selection, shot composition, and editing." (from IMDB)
So unless Sommers goes completely Maverick and tries to do something off the books he has complete control of everything. This is his film. But he does have a boss and that boss is Bonaventura. Now that does not mean that Bonaventura can do what he wants as well. It has to come from the top and that is Goldner. Goldner is the Chief Operating Officer of Hasbro, Inc. and even he has a boss, The Board of Directors.
It is kinda funny that people think that one person can do whatever he wants (to a film) when he wants. The Director and Producer cannot just wake up one morning and change things without going through the proper channels. That is not how it works! Film is by committee and it is only getting worse. Johnnyakiba: I think it will be an "If SEE" but I am hoping for the best. JGL does not seem interested in his own movie so hopefully he dies in the begining. darthdoug: I would love to see the HOOD make an appearance at some point. Anyone have any pics or updates on what kind of mask they will have or is this top-secret? I'm really hoping it doesn't suck. It will absolutely kill the movie for me if he has a suck-ass mask throughout the whole thing. TheLongestDay: Kevin Smith was the writer-whose script then got thrown out by the Director.
Interesting to note that Jon Peters also produced "Superman Returns" which contained no giant spiders, gay robots or wrasslin polar bears-it was all Bryan Singers vision SportingViper: Quote:

There was a guy on IMDB who claimed to have worked in the art department during pre-production. He said CC wasn't going to wear the hood or battle-helmet and instead he was going to be wearing a "skullish-looking Jason-like mask". Sure he could have been lying, however he did seem legit (wasn't written in a way to insight flaming and his other posts in other imdb boards suggested he worked in the industry) and this was about a month before that pic was leaked. So I can't say this is exactly PURE fan speculation. Rocky: Quote:

He was executive producer on all those movies.
| Yet Lucas' vision and desires overrode everyone else in production of that movie. Quote: |
Dude its a producers job 9 times out of 10 to be the voice of the Director and the movie as a whole-the spokesperson if you will
| Which is exactly what Di Bonaventura is doing now, and what he did for the Transformers movie, and why Michael Bay got pissed at him when he requested writing credits. Quote: |
Read the interviews with this idiot producer and you'll see that what HE wants is want we're going to get. He didn't say Sommers or anybody else.
| Don't see Barack Obama in the movie or the movie being retitled U.N. Joe. I don't see a team comprised of military members of other nations. I see a team of members from different brances of the U.S. military with a secret base outside of the US, an American strike force but in a movie which lacks the A Real American Hero label, and people bitching about the lack of a label. egoing: Could it be The Destro mask? Yeah, but I'm going to say this is Cobra Commander's "twisted" new mask. Gaelinic: Quote:

| Looks more like Cobra C.L.A.W.S. from Spytroops, I hope that isn't Cobra Commander's mask. Its menacing, but I want something more reminscent of the battle mask. Gentleman: Am I the only one who thinks the hood is actually CC's most 'menacing' look?
It's sick.

| True but the battle mask in the comic was more practical, fit for a leader who could join the battle as opposed to looking iconic and ordering from the sidelines. Lantern_Lad: Quote:

As much as I didn't like the Transformers movie that much,I'll give credit to Bay for making the US military men and women look good and not be ashame of them. In Transformers it was the US military against a WORLD(like Cobra) threat, not the F@CKING U.N. | Quote:

How about we all just put aside the complaining about what is accurate and what is or isn't true to the comic and/or cartoon and just wait to see an entertaining movie that at worst will recognize and carry the name of our beloved gi joe.
Don't be affraid of having a good time watching a movie about gi joe. Might be accurate, might not, but i bet it'll be fun to watch and buy on dvd.

When everybody thought the new Rambo movie was going to suck, Stallone put out 7 or so minutes of brutal footage from the movie on the internet, and that started some positive "buzz" going about the movie.
When people started getting skeptical about what they were hearing about 'the Dark Knight.' The makers of that movie put out the intire first scene from that movie (ya know the "bank robbing" scene").
I wish they would just go a head, and show us some more of GI.Joe.
They probably aren't going to cus' they have something to hide. The movie probably won't even be show to critics cus' it sucks so bad. Rogles: Quote:

| There's not too many details. I can't remember his name. Back in March he posted on imdb saying something about that he worked in preproduction for GI Joe and he had seen the final concept art for most of the the characters and he offered to answer any questions people had for the designs. One of the first questions was about Cobra Commander. He answered that the best he could describe it was a skull-like Jason mask. He also added that the back of his head was exposed which was bald and scarred (it's difficult to tell if the leaked pic is like this).
He answered a few other questions on some of the other characters but I can't remember the details of his replies which sucks because that would actually really help to see if he was legit or not. I do wonder if anyone else here remembers the details of this guy's post. Rogles: Quote:

I think the story also takes place in the year 2020. Rocky: Quote:
