It's Official GIJOE Retaliation Wave 2 And 3 Cancelled

We regret that Hasbro has sent an e-mail this morning stating that Wave 2 & Wave 3 have in fact been cancelled until March 2013. The only Retaliation items we will see this year is the little Wave 1 product that are currently in stores now.

I got a wave 2 roadblock coming. Glad I bought him.

Well it looks like I'll be adding to my vintage collection until March of next year.

I assumed this would happen. Hopefully they are released in March then. Think there were 4 figures I wanted from those two waves.

Anyway, still have a lot of troop builders from ROC, POC and 30th to buy.

Does anyone know if hasbro will re-release Wave 1 for next year? Or is retailers just keep stocking it until wave 1 is gone?

Your guess is as good as anybody's, but I would suspect they might reorder what comes in each 2013 wave

Ebay will be busy for 9 months

I foresee the current peg stock selling out. They'll start popping up on ebay and the gotta have it now people will pay premiums rather than wait 9 months for crappy figures. The only figures worth having are the red ninja and joe trooper. Maybe the Zartan as it's a faithful mold of the renegades (which I'm not a fan) if people are willing to forgive the lack of articulation.

My predictions:

The joe trooper will probably hit $30 bucks a figure within a month from now.

The red ninja will fetch a little less since there will be loose 3 pack versions available.

The 3 pack version of roadblock will fetch a premium loose.

The 3 pack with BH, Kamakura and Rock will fetch a premium.

This Storm Shadow should be canceled forever.

Maybe the Easter bunny might have better luck?

For the optimist, maybe, they will add another wave of 30th ann. figures for X-mas featuring Kwinn.

For the pessimist, there will be no Joe product out for X-mas, and the line will be cancelled when the movie gets cancelled in February.

So when we don't see them at retail in March (and we won't mark my words)...we will have to wait until they hit Ross 6-9 months later.

Personally, I love this Storm Shadow. I upgraded his gear a bit, but the sculpt is wonderful IMO.

Once wave 1 has sold through if it hasn't already, ebay, and other choice places will be only place left to find Joes.

Guess I will just focus all my other lines MOTUC,MU,SW,HALO...

Really hope they can rush out a filler wave or two, either in 30th packaging or in some ARAH packaging.

It's pretty much a given Wave 2 exists right? So I assume it will start popping up fairly heavily on eBay.
