IGN has posted their preview of the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra video game. One of the new screenshots reveals a new joe, Gung Ho! Another familiar face will show up, our favorite sailor Shipwreck!
To give an idea of how the game will be like, IGN posted the following:
Rather than try to compete with today’s high profile action games that cost millions to make and are given several years development time, G.I. Joe is being designed as an ’80s-style shooter in 3D. Think Contra with Joes, at least in concept.

Following GamePro's example, IGN has posted their own preview for the video game:

"Designed as a couch co-op game (sorry, no online play)"
Alas, it seems the game will fail... this one sentence means it is going to suck.... I was soooo looking forward to playing with tankers across Live. oh well.... man.... I hope this changes, this game could be worth the money if they would include online co op.

I'll rent it, but I don't think this game (and it's gameplay) are going to be that good. I'm keeping expectations low for sure. Graphics don't mean everything to me; as long as the controls, in-game camera and the gameplay are good that's all that matters for me really.

Atleast there will be hisstanks and trouble bubbles. Hopefully those won't be drastically reimagined.

I don't fool with no online play. Seems fine to me.
Fierce Krypton says
Online play is everything. therefore this game is nothing. :-/ Can you imagine how epic it would be to play through the game with a fellow tanker! It would be awesome! They are shooting themselves in the foot with this lack of online. Maybe XBox connect will work with it.
gunslingercbr says
my hopes have been officially dashed for this. everything about it seems to be done on the cheap, from no online play to simple game mechanics that play like just a 3-D NES game. maybe EA should rethink distribution for this as a $20 download like Watchmen.
ShockVal says
I'm not a big gamer. But I bet this game sells well. Again, remember the market they are trying to tap.
