Snake Eyes (Ninja Duel) 2013 - Retaliation G.I. Joe Figures G.I. Joe Retaliation

G.I.JOE Retaliation Snake Eyes
Dusty Ayers:
To compete with POC SE he has to have at least his level of articulation. This one seems pretty light on accessories compared to POC SE as well. He has a couple of swords and CC's recycled gun.
rglass2:
Yeah I am liking this figure a lot; we will see if its better then POC SE very soon.
Hit n Run:
I keep think that am not going to buy another SE, but....maybe this one will be the last.
PFunk:
Rocker ankles?
Jinx723:
Hey, no teasing Destro. Yours has a stand which is gonna piss off everyone else even more.
Just like Flint, I'll most likely get this Snake Eyes because I haven't bought a "new" Joe since last summer. I like the head sculpt and upper torso but hate the rest. Especially the legs, there's just something with those legs that makes the figure meh.

No way in hell is this better than the POC w3 Snake Eyes.
PFunk:
Kinda looks like he's wearing skinny jeans.

Agree on the legs. Not a terrible figure, but doesn't seem to bring anything new, exciting or worthwhile to the table.

Makes me take down my POC Snake Eyes and gaze at it lovingly.
PFunk:
I'll replace those legs with something else. I agree they're throwing the figure off.
rpope:
I would probably like to get two, one to keep as it, the other to make a new Splinter Cell Blacklist Sam Fisher with.

Just be happy it has ankles unlike that wave 1 garbage.

I guess still no stands?
cobracobra:
Do the Retaliation figures seem thinner to you guys as well? It looks cool but I am going to resist the urger to purchase most of this line.

That, Sir, will be one wicked custom fig.

Justin gave him a pretty good score..... Can't wait....!
Superjoe74:
I don't like the costume design of the figure but, the new belt and wood handled katanas are nice additions.
dpstro:
No thanks. I'll keep my POC Snake Eyes. Also something about the way the hands look makes me think they won't be holding swords and other weapons too well.
PFunk:
Yeah, I'll have to have one. So will my son.

Thanks for posting this link from GJ. Pretty much tipped the balance for me.
ilzuccone:
nice give me one
Dead Man Walkin:
I mostly like the figure, but something about the helmet sculpt makes it look like he has male pattern baldness to me.
Rainbow Viper:
Nice pics. I have mixed feelings on this one. I'm just burnt out on SE as a whole. Nothing really against the figure. I'm really digging the swords. He seems to be screen accurate. If I get him at a good price and don't have to pay upwards of 8-10 dollars then I'd probably get him.
Iron Guru:
Wave 3 POC Snake Eyes is still the king of SE figures for me. I like the upper half of this version but the legs have to go. I'll skip this one and save some cash.
Kaboomskie:
Good thing this fig's movie accurate, otherwise it's an easy pass for me.
ShadowNinja:
I like this one but my go to SE is still the one from the roc rescue mission 4 pack from target. A lot of you guys seem to like articulution I prefer design and to me that one is more snake eyes then any of them.
Daver:
For me another SE I'm gonna pass on,the legsculpt and lack of gear makes it an easy choice for me.
Looks like the whole 1st wave of Retaliation-figures is a pass for me btw...
Crimson Gord:
so this brings the retaliation snake eyes count up to 4 now ?
thairestauranteur:
Looks like this figure is wearing black Wrangler jeans. Guess he just got out of the rodeo or some other shit kicking contest.

Kaboomskie makes a valid point. This figure is movie accurate. However, we have yet to see a movie accurate CC. What is up with that one? Did the toy sculptors decide to design a different CC than the movie designers? Some kind of artistic conflict between Hasblo and Paramount designers on this one?
rsneal1:
I bought a wave 2 SE from viperskindom on Ebay a few weeks ago. As far as articulation goes, it has more than the POC SE due to the upgraded ankle rocker. Unlike the first wave of retaliation figs, he can hold his swords and gun in his hands.

The only thing I'm not particulary keen about is SE's thin legs. However, the figure overall is awesome. Had we not gotten POC SE in 2011, this would be the best version of the character created thus far.
The Commander:
A great figure. Definitely worth the money.
MJjoe4life:
I like the looks of this SE, yeah the legs look a little off but i can live with it. No it wont replace my POC SE, I will def be opening this one. I like that the missile launching zip line is hidden in the package so it isnt the first thing u see.
angelofdeath69:
I like it. Man, Snake eyes is a win figure everytime.

Not every time, but more often than not.

Despite complaints from some fans, Snake-Eyes figures are rarely the ones heavily pegwarming, and well-executed new versions of him almost always seem to attract a lot of attention.

I agree with this. Snake Eyes is one of the characters in GI Joe that is commonly know and popular to a lot of people. Hasbro produces several versions of the character for this very reason.

It's only on forums such as this where you find hardcore fans that like lesser-known, but just as, if not more-so, interesting than SE that are ignored and never released or updated in action figure form. I understand people's complaint when another SE comes out; but I also understand Hasbro's reasoning in contantly bring back the character in other formats to make money.

Hasbro execs see the company as an Entertainment Company, not just a Toy Company. Despite having movies made, GI Joe is just a small portion of what Hasbro offers as a whole. Bottom line, Hasbro is going to do whatever it takes to make money, not to make every fanboy happy.

Not even close to being possible.

While this fig looks decent, POC SE was really the pinnacle of small action figure design. Its all downhill from there.
kevjul:
This is a very nice snake eyes, but with the ultimate SE hittin' shorlty afterwards I see no point in investing in this version.
monstermonkey:
Hmm...not a bad looking figure. But do I really need another Snake Eyes in my collection? I'm still kinda holding out for figures of 1) Vietnam LLRP, 2) casual Mountain/Cabin attire, or 3) dress greens with rubber mask-face SE. I doubt any of those will happen, though.

Maybe I'll pick this one up in one of those TRU "buy 2 get the 3rd free" sales or something, but I'll probably pass at first.
PFunk:
Thus proving I háve zero willpower, I just ordered two of these from Eddie at Dorkside Toys. I feel cheap.

Incorrect...

I'm STILL mad at Hasbro over that abomination! :-P
Ruin:
I'm thinking this Snake Eyes won't be particularly hard to find, given it's a movie figure Snake Eyes. I don't see Hasbro getting hoodwinked by collectors shouting for it to be short-packed ala Renegades Storm Shadow...

I will definitely pick one up. I also don't think it's all that short of accessories, though I would prefer a figure stand to a zip line.

Same here! That is the only SE on my shelves.
Troops of Doom:
I like the design, better than a lot of other versions. The wooden handles on the swords are a nice detail. Only thing is I have other versions of Snake Eyes that I like more, so this one is a pass.
speedocub:
We need another Snake Eyes...I can't wait to include this one in my collection. I just love Snake Eyes...can't get enough of 'im!

Glad Hasbro agrees with me.

I can't complain about the figure's articulation though. I'm so glad that they did it right for a figure I need hundreds of.
MeLikeJinx:
^ I agree... love adding SEs to my separate SE display.

IMO all he needs is a new belt and new lower legs (with ankle articulation) and that would be one of the better SEs made so far.

Reminds me of when the Resolute Joes were cancelled, and then Resolute came on, then the images we had of what ended up being City Strike Snake Eyes turned up. In 2009 that had to be the most wanted figure of the year.

I LOVE ninja figures so if there are plenty, and executed well, I will buy them. This Retaliation Snake Eyes figure is probably the best movie Snake Eyes in this scale to get. I'm sure Hasbro can top it with a POC-esque subline version afterwards if they want to.
ozzie92:
Legs aren't bothering me. Uh oh, have I fallen for the "Destro added a stand for the pics" bit? Crap...I thought stands were back in! :(

Interesting you make that request. Here is my army trenchcoat, rubber face masked SE from the Marvel/Hama comics (JUST finished him today!)...also my George Strawhacker rescue SE from the comics (issue 104?). I am also working on continue the mission SE, also from the comics...but there is much more work to be done on him (pic just gives you a small idea where I'm going).

I was already thinking of making Vietnam LRRP + the other 5 in his squad, possibly this summer. Hadn't thought about moutain/cabin SE. Be cool if he could hold a dead rabbit by the ears.

I'm one of the collectors most roll their eyes at. I have every SE and SS Hasbro has sold, minus cancelled/international/convention versions. In other words, yojoe.com, A-Z.
ozzie92:
Pics not working?

EDIT: seems I can't see 'em unless I repost, otherwise I get the text only format. Hmmm...
Pugsley:
I'm looking forward to using the armored torso & arms for making Snake Eyes customs.
