ilovesw has posted new images of the Ice Viper from the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra toy line, however there is something different; the visor color! One has a clear visor, and the other has a black visor. Could one of these be a variant?

Chinese auction site TaoBao has two different versions of the movie Ice-Viper up on their site now. one has a clear visor while the other one sports a black visor is this another movie figure variant or just a running production change.

By far, this is the coolest new figure coming from the film and would be a great addition to the Snow Serpents in my non-movie collection.

Maybe it'll end up being like the clone troopers where there are several different colors, none being harder to find than the others. Variant mania is back, let the hysteria begin!

I have to agree this is the best figure in the line period (rest will just end up being 25th re-paints like BBQ and Deep Six ala Torpedo)...I must have several of these to go with my Snow Wolf pack (prefer the black visor myself)...They will make awsome renditions for other artic viper squads as well. Uniform rocks colors rock and he has a proper cobra sigil that is visible. His weapon is even wrapped for winter warfare...dunno why they cant do the other vipers right, The Paris fight should have TONS of Alley Vipers but oh no we have to have Jason Vorhees Vipers running rampant with Joes in power suits......

The clear just hasn't been painted yet.

Is the helmet removable?
It looks like it could be the same head/helmet as Motor viper.

I work for an optical, you wouldn't get a red reflection on a black visor unless it had a mirrored finish, in which case it'd be considered the color of the mirror, likely red or silver. There'd have to be a large red light source to get that sort of reflection on silver, while on red it could be very minimal. Chances are it's impossible to have that small of a piece have a mirror that would be of any sort of playable quality.

That is the power of snow gear; it will even make a ROC Viper look cool. LOL. After that Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes I would have to say that the Ice Viper with the black visor is the coolest looking movie fig.
