HISS Tank.com boards member Gyre-Viper has gotten his hands on the Cobra Fury prototype with Alley-Viper repaint. This vehicle is a retooled version of the Cobra Rage. In a move to please raging fanboys everywhere, Hasbro has made the missle launcher removable! This vehicle is in the bravo sizeclass/pricepoint of the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra toyline. The Cobra Rage with blue urban camouflage Alley-Viper was last released in 1997 as a Toys 'R' Us exclusive, could the new Alley Viper be painted in blue urban camo as well?

The Alley-Viper from the Defense of Cobra Island 7 pack is shown for comparison as well. Also shown is an upcoming Strato-Viper repaint in red. Click on the title bar to see more!

    the rest came from toyssir898
CaptainTripps:
I'm looking forward to this. I never had a Rage.
Hicks_Royel:
Not bad, but I can certainly wait for the official release some time down the road.

ya but i had a serious soft spot for an alley viper prototype.
especially a 25th/cobra island style one.
Nemesis*Prime:
Thanks for the pics of the Rage, I'm so looking forward to finally being able to army build that tank. Even with the few ROC modifications it's still a kick ass tank. Hopefully Hasbro will release a few more old school RAH vehicles for the movie line.
ocab27:
i new it would be you that out bid me on that strato grrrrrrrrr u. alley viper looks cool, rage looks large and in-charge
nighthawk:
Nice pics. Is the spring loaded missile launcher on the Rage removable?
kolobosrexx:
...The new Rage looks badd-ass!! Always liked the design for "urban warfare"... can't wait to see the final product of the Alley-Viper! Hope they single-card him too!
coola784:
im not a fan of the colors but hopefully they will change this when it goes into production, also im not really digging the changes they have made to the cobra rage. i didnt even know this was going to be re-released as a ROC vehicle.
SNAKE EYES:
Nice pics, can't wait to see the finished Alley Viper painted.
Shin-Gouki:
Looks like that launcher is easily removable! SWEET!
MightyMegs:
Has it really been 20 years since the Rage first came out? Geesh, where does the time go...

I think the color of the Rage might stay the same. Looks to match the ROC Ferret.

Hopefully, there will be a little more deco to the Alley Viper. I already like the colors better than the classic which are horrid. I understand people liking the mold, but if you like the RAH AV colors, you can never complain about the use of color on a Joe figure.
Gyre-Viper:
ya the spring launcher is removable.

the sigma 6 dudes are low light and someone else.

i'm too lazy to go look in the original shadow hammer mech post.
    hehehehe.
Shin-Gouki:
    Sweet!!!!!!! That launcher get's MELTED!

    RAGE against the MACHINE!!!
CaptainTripps:
How does this compare to the Gunship and Steel Crusher in size?

What I'm really saying is pleeeease be a Bravo class vehicle.

Pretty please? So I can take two of you home?

There is not a word strong enough to describe the rage that those wastes of plastic instill in me. I hate them more than "Ripcord", "Breaker", and "Cobra Commander" all rolled into one. That's saying something!
samantha:
I am so into buying 2 of these.

Hasbro released a mech w/ Ghost Bear several years ago. This could be the new version.
Grimwing:
I'm more interested in picking up that mech recolor. Simple robotech style mecha is'nt to sci fi in my opinion for practical cobra forces.

I like that the Rage has 1989 on the bottom still. Its a pretty good vehicle. Finally something to carry troops more proficiently than modern era hiss tanks.
samantha:
Do you think the will retool the mechs and then re-release them?
umanumanamo:
    I'll take 3 of them!
dawingster:
Wow that looks pretty sweet. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Sgt. Stowell:
I add one of these @ age 9. I loved this side of Joes
VIPER 48:
Cool stuff. Thanks for the pics...

If the Nitro Viper is anything to go by, that IS the finished product.
NeoDragonKnight:
I would very much like the Rage and especially very much want my Urban Grey Alley Viper
jayeyejoo:
can't wait to score some of these.
yourfacehere:
So is that prototype alley viper part of that set or will it be single carded or a 2 pack exclusive.

tough to say. you can find the "airborne" prototype (now known as "rollbar"
in finished form) with the Sky Sweeper prototype from a few sellers.
but now we know the sky sweeper comes with "air raid" as a pilot (formerly rumored to be "barrel roll")... however the "air raid" prototype figure is seen
in several places with another prototype vehicle. so it seems that what
you see with the prototype vehicles as far as figures go... is interchangeable.
whether that's a mistake on the seller's part or if itz just something that changes through hasbro is tough to say.
yourfacehere:
Well if you or someone else find out shoot me a pm. That alley viper looks bitchin' I hope to purchase one in the future with a color scheme simlar to yours.
Syn3sthesia:
Those f'ng wheels and launcher gotta come off.
Zefram:
Definately getting one of these. The launcher doesn't even look that bad. Way more realistic that what's coming with the figures.
xhairs:
i cant wait to get this bad boy. i hope the colors are good.
aussietrooper20:
I hope they fix the wheel problem, and I hope the Alley Viper is how it was first.

I would like to see the Cobra Pirahna make a return as well as other vehicles from the same year this vehicle was sold.
samantha:
Will this vehicle be an exclusive? I hope not.
Nirvana:
I sure hope this idea doesn't get "canceled" eventually. I want a pair of Rages and Alley Vipers to go with them.
B.A.T.tyBelfry:
what happened to the alleyvipers chest knife/sheath? This vehicle looks like it has potential for me.

what are the little discs in the box? land mines?

thanks again for the reviews bro, you're the hasbro liason that could've been lol
