G.I. Joe Retaliation Cyber Ninja In-Hand Action Figure Images

004-Cyber-Ninja-GIJOE-Retaliation-Movie
Continuing with our Wave 3 GIJOE Retaliation high-res images, the next Movie figure is Cyber Ninja! This figure reminds me of a Ghost in the Shell type of character. The Tron Blue highlights work well with the metallic-black paint and it also has the cancelled POC Firefly gear. Check out the images in our GIJOE database below.

Continuing with our Wave 3 GIJOE Retaliation high-res images the next Movie figure is Cyber Ninja! I'm not sure what they were going for here, but it's not a bad filler figure. Kinda reminds me of Ghost in the Shell type of character. The Tron Blue highlights work well with the metallic-black paint and it also has the cancelled POC Firefly gear. Cyber Ninja 2013 - Retaliation Cobra Figures G.I. Joe Retaliation

GIJOE Retaliation Cyber Ninja
Steevy Maximus:
Definitely see the GitS vibe going on. I do miss the old Wraith helmet though (thought it had more, flair, than the one they ended up with), but that might have been mitigated with some paint apps on the helmet.

Can't wait for the first post to bitch about the suction cups/gear, even though they were slated for release during the original PoC run.
Kaboomskie:
Cobra sends ninjas and invades TRON now?

Terrorist bastards.
rglass2:
I really like the tron blue highlights.
creggar:
Hasbro is really pushing out the old mold parts. Must be a warehouse of over-produced ROC parts somewhere.
Dolemite:
Wow...this figure looks like crap. I don't think I see one new part. RoC all the way, baby! And actually painting the helmet would have been nice, you know. This thing looks unfinished.

Shame...it HAD potential.

Actually, I think the suction cups look like fun accessories, especially for a ninja.
M_renegade:
I like it a lot.
The Wraith head might have been cool, but i'm not bothered by this one.

I have only one Wraith, so these bastards will fill the ranks as Wraith Viper troops.

And a couple more for fodder!
(not really sure why they're reusing so much the old RoC Elite Viper, when PoC Firefly is a rare figure and has almost no reuse...)
cobracobra:
Looks like a lost concept ROC figure to me. Even the colors don't match the rest of Retaliation. I just miss 2009 all the time now.
SgtChameleon79:
This figure does nothing for me...not sure how it even ties into the movie. I may buy one just because Im a damn completest.
Shin Densetsu:
ROCKER ANKLES! YES! So it isn't just a straight up repaint. Interesting that it lacks the crossed/scabbards/swords that were supposed to come with, but even more interesting, who will they come with now? Bet they will be for another Storm Shadow or something.

Decent figure. It does remind me of Jinx's cyber suit from Renegades a bit. Will get.

Good idea. The figure is underwhelming on it's own, but as troop builder under the Wraith it works.
I like vest, the blue highlights, the weapons and accessories.

Hmm...didn't notice that. Kewl.

Now THAT'S a figure I would like to see.

I agree and I have mentioned this before- many of the Renegades design elements can be seen to have influenced the Retaliation figures. It is one of the things I like about the movie figures overall.
Owner of a Lonely B.A.T.:
I like it...but then I liked it when I made Virus my custom Cobra computer specialist.

Anything for a cheap plug of my crap...lol.
JoeMama:
asphincter says what?

looks like something out of TRON.
pass.
Troops of Doom:
Tron lives!

Cool helmet but I'll pass on this one.
Kaboomskie:
Would have made sense if he was given a katana lightsabre.

What the hell, I'll take 3 please.
Dem_Yoe'z!:
I officially dub this guy "TRON VIPER"
soundwave84:
great figure.

^^^This^^^
Troynos:
No thanks. 0 interest in this figure.

Too many ninjas in Retaliation, but then everyone's a ninja in Retaliation. Roadblock is an Araishakage and Flint does parkour.

The suction cups are awesome. I'd be fine with the accessories if they were all functional like these. Even some of the launchers work well.

Reactive Impact Ripcord's thing looks like a new PAC/Rat. Stone has a nice gun emplacement. Breaker had a portable satellite link-up. There were a couple other good ones too.

Most were crap, but there were some good ones.

Hasbro just needs to do a better job making them functional, and people would accept them more.
Konigstiger:
The helmet might have uses elsewhere, but there are no other redeeming qualities on this one.
The Commander:
I'll pick up one. I good use of existing parts for an original character.
KushViper:
I don't completely hate this figure, I just kind of hate it. Looks like a Ninja Turtle.
MJjoe4life:
The figure isnt all that bad. I would have been disappointed if they had used wraith's head. I like the crimson horseman's head they used instead. I dont mind the tron-like lines. I may actually pick up a few of these.
orezona:
Peg.
Warmer.
alcoholic ewok:
that tron design would have been so cool 2 years ago when tron legacy came out.

Good, that'll leave more on shelves for me to buy.

I'll be honest, I'm not quite sure why (maybe because I'm a sucker for the "tech-ninja" concept) but I'm diggin' this figure, though I realize I'm likely in the minority on that.
80sKid:
Yawn, not a fan of this figure. More power to the people that do like and will buy it, I will not be.
Raw Dog:
I'm excited for Cyber Ninja.
Jmacq1:
Looking at those parts kinda gives me hope for a ME remake of the Cobra Coils. Even if I know it'd be far more likely via the Club than Hasbro itself.

One of those nu-sculpt era figures that I felt was underrated at least in terms of overall design. But I might be biased because I hunted down a squad of those guys to drive my DTC Hiss Tanks (in the absence of a proper HISS Driver in those days).

Having pondered this figure further, I think these guys will be a splinter group of the Cobra ninja factions (Red Ninjas and Night Creepers) who have decided to break off from the main body of Night Creepers and swear personal loyalty to Firefly (maybe after he inadvertently saved their bacon during an op). In doing so they've taken up some of his methods (hence the gunplay). He's kind of annoyed at having these hangers-on around when he's traditionally more of a lone wolf, but they've proven themselves useful so he tolerates it.

Still have never fully decided if Firefly is actually a ninja in my Joe-verse, but it doesn't really matter in this case. In fact it might be even more awesome if he's not.
DPrime:
I kind of like it.

I think if/when I see these guys in action in the movie, that'll seal the deal. If it's an off-screen character, I'll probably pass.
Laser Viper:
if this was a female mold with this armor this would be a great Jinx from that Renegade episode where Destro provided her the stealth armor to kill CC.

A new sculpt homage in the modern line? Surely you jest

Back in the waning days of new sculpt, I heard rumors that Hasbro had planned to spin Firefly, Blackout and Munitia off into a mercenary team called HISS (that's what I heard anyway).
I kind of like the idea that as they've aged, Firefly and Major Bludd set up their own mercenary company.

He's an offscreen figure, like the Alley Viper, Zartan (sort of), Cobra Trooper, Crimson Guard and ultimate 85 Snake Eyes
nighthawk:
So, did Hasbro decide to glue the helmet on or did you just not take any pics of him without the helmet? Or did I just miss it...haha.
Jinx723:
You couldn't pay me to buy this figure.
ironknife:
you know ill buy this fig!!
Kaboomskie:
Hmmm...come to think of it, he might be portrayed like an army of Gray Foxes. I'm starting to like him.

You mean in the movie? I'm pretty sure these guys aren't in the movie.
Kaboomskie:
No dude, not the movie, only in the toyline. I think Hasbro wants him to be kinda like Gray Fox from Metal Gear

But I think I know where Hasbro got the inspiration. You're busted Hasbro!

Lo and behold, the Cyborg Ninja from Metal Gear Rising

Damn, I think I'm gonna get ten of these bad boys instead of the Black Dragon ninjas. Super-soldier, half man - half machine, able to deflect bullets with their swords, ninja trained, what the heck can you ask for more?

I think Cobra Island is starting to turn into Outer Heaven.
Jmacq1:
Well, given that we no longer get filecards they're not really going to be "portrayed" in any format.

But I'd agree that the figure certainly seems to have taken some Metal Gear inspiration, which in turn takes inspiration from Ghost in the Shell and a multitude of other sources.

This guy would have fit right in with the various cross-media homages in PoC, IMO.
Qwerty123:
I agree that this toy doesn't look like much in photos, and since most of you suckers just display your figures that's all you care about, but I think it looks like a fun toy to PLAY with!!!

You can head swap but its more like a head sculpt then a helmet.
revsears:
Complete and total failure and a waste of a figure slot. Ninjas are too plentiful in this line, and this particular doesn't look unique, only hobbeled together. The Parts are recognizable, and not fan favs except for maybe the head/helmet which looks too bulky to be used for a ninja or any type of stealth trooper. IF they had to go this route, the head that comes with the Ultimate ninja trooper (movie viper... yet renamed to be another ninja) would be nice.

If they wanted to do the tech route, why not go with some clear/blue or some other translucent color to go with his stealth angle.

But i would have preferred the canceled night creeper, heck i would have preferred a homage to ninja force night creeper as a cyber ninja.
fireflyguy:
The suction cup zip line was originally supposed to come with the PoC Firefly, wasn't it?

I thought I might get this figure, but after seeing these pics, I probably won't unless they have a BOGO deal at target or tru.

Me too, but that zip line handle is pretty cool... would really fit the 25th Crimson Twins.
ponygt:
Cant wait to get this guy and put the 'movie trooper's (the correct name escapes me) extra head/single scope helmet on him! Love these MGS influences
Kaboomskie:
If you're a Metal Gear fan, you'll appreciate this fig.

I'm getting 10 of this bastard.
46 Zone:
Can someone post a pick of this MGS trooper this fig references?
