Looks bad ass, definitely getting 1 or more of that one. Wasn't going to at all but those changes Hasbro made to it are GOOD!

I wasn't crazy about this version of the Alley Viper when I saw the first images a while back, especially compared to the awesome 25th "Defense of Cobra Island" version (what can I say, orange and blue all the way, baby!).

But there's obviously been some changes made to this figure since the prototype pics were released, and that 30th Stalker webgear can do no wrong, IMO. I think I've been converted...the final version looks pretty damn bad-ass. I like it!

Pretty sure I'll be skipping this guy.

Decent, but standing next to the POC version does not flatter it. Also, that web gear is overused and the machete doesn't make sense for an urban trooper.

I was going to pass, but i think i'll get one at least.
The Jungle Duke vest is a bit off, but isn't that bad.
The camo is lame, but i can fix it. I like the new torso a lot, much better than the outdated 25th (which was too short and skinny)

Maybe you can put 5pk Mercer's vest on him, dunno how the red will match...

I'm sure you wouldn't say that if an armored guy with a shield is machete chopping you in New York alley way.

I had no idea you could use the club's handle while in the shield to peg it onto a guys back... And knowing is half the battle!

This is on my very short list of Retaliation figures to pick up. I like the changes.

Meh. I'll stick with the 25A hunter-orange version.

The Alley Viper was after my initial collecting days and I was not familiar with it until I started collecting again in 2007 with the 25th figures. The 25th DOCI colors are awesome and I like this figure too- especially the improved articulation and variant colors and accessories. I will be troop building this Alley Viper.

Why does an urban trooper need a machete? Besides just being a cool accessory, the machete is great weapon for defending against Zombies.

This guy is awesome. No such thing as too many Ally vipers.

HATE the color scheme, but always have with Alley-Vipers. Not very urban colors. Needs to be gray/blue/black. PoC Alley-Viper was better colors.

Not sure about the changes to the webgear. The machete is out of place and I like the flak vest aspects of the normal gear.

But can never have enough Alley-Vipers. This will be a wait and see....

Because it comes with the Duke webbing and they know we'd all bitch to high heaven if that brick of a sheath didn't have a blade to fill it.

As for AVs and bladed weapons, I think it's fairly natural to have them. I always imagined that the business end of the AV shields were sharpened for melee combat (think very much like the Uruk-hai when he pinned Strider to that tree). Paired with a short sword (gladius in style, perhaps) things could get ugly.

Shadow Tracker's falcata/kopis-style machete would have been a better accessory choice. Wouldn't save it from it's horrific color scheme, but you can't win them all.

Great figure. I will enjoy owning many.

Looks fine I guess. I'm not a huge fan of the color scheme and I wish the paint apps were a little better on this guy, for example: there's no reason why the straps on his legs should not be painted.

I like the figure, but I'm going to have to figure out where exactly he's going to fit in to "the ranks" of my Cobra Army. I suspect he'll be some kind of officer position or "elite Alley Viper" or whatnot so I won't likely be buying too many of them.

I really dug how the Alley Vipers, Rage, and Deviant Mech all had a mostly-unified color scheme in RoC. This guy kinda throws that outta whack.

Or maybe these will serve as "Crimson Alley Vipers" since everyone else seems to get Crimson these days.

Actually, come to think of it...I just had an idea that may see me restructuring my Cobra organization in my headcanon Joe-verse.

Not a fan of this red color scheme as we already got maroon but If Hasbro would do an urban camo color scheme (greys, blues and blacks) I'd spaz and buy at least 50! Bring on one in all navy and black to match the blue shirts and one in army greens I'll buy 100s more.

I also wish he came with the OG head and not the Resolute head. I would have bought even more...

I hate the bright red, feels like Hasbro is going through the 90's phase again! I hope they will snap out of it.

This figure is nice but not 25th or POC nice. I am burnt out on the stalker webgear. this guy will get the poc/25th vest or another one, that'll make him better. In urban ops he needs body armor. sure he has the new built in armor but it isnt "realistic" enough for me. maybe grenades and other goodness added to the body would make him "meaner" (w/o the stalker webgear though) I'd love to get you guys opinion on this since I depend on fellow tankers for my custom ideas

I like me some Alley Vipers, but this one belongs no where near my collection. I hate the torso, hate the web gear, hate the color. And who the hell uses a machete in the CONCRETE jungle, besides a Columbia drug czar?
And I thought the Valor vs Venom Alley Viper was a piece of $#!+

Hasbro really blue a slot here. The red is too bright, we just had an excellent red POC alley viper and it had superior parts.

If they were set on giving us an alley viper why not give us the dragon helm from later Alley vipers and paint in JVC wave 1. 5 style. I'm sure it would sell like hot cakes. Or it could have been another slot for some of the canceled figures we have seen in the concept case like a tele-viper, night creeper, or whomever.

As it stands, it's such an easy pass.

I've been brainstorming a new vest myself. The 25th one suffers from "Liefelditis", with its scores of usesless pouches.

Perhaps they could be shaved off and replaced with ones passable as rifle or smg ones.

It's a Crimson Alley Viper kids!

Pretty much. I'm debating with myself over whether all the "crimson" figures represent the Crimson Guard as a separate faction within Cobra (kind of like Cobra Commander's own "Iron Grenadiers"), or whether they represent Crimson Guardsmen who are "brushing up" on their fieldwork.

I was going to ask for a running change with the yellow/black version 2 colors.
