Streetfield I posted your Transformer comments over on our sister site TFW2005.com and gave you credit. Thanks for the news on both fronts.

I actually like the Rex the Joe becoming Cobra Commander. It's a good origin for a terrorist. Works better then the "used car salesman" or "1000 year old reptilian scientist".
    How about a failed housepainter?

The MCC would be a large playset/base as well as a vehicle... but then so would be the General and Flagg.

How would you describe the general shape of it?

Was it in any way similar to the old cartoon headquarters?

How were the treads and "cockpits" arranged? Is it possible the cockpits were simply gun turrets?
The Commander:

Counterpoint:
Oh man, I cannot wait to see these images.
Troynos:
I'm wondering if the cockpits and treads were for removable vehicles (maybe a digger and/or escape vehicles?)

I don't understand why people have a problem with the Used Car Salesman bit. It's probably the most realistic thing imaginable that some lunatic small-time schemer goes nuts and amasses power by appealling to disenfranchised Americans.

Cobra Commander's rise to power in the comics is modelled loosely after Adolf Hitler's. The main difference being that Hitler (a painter) made a very public bid for power whereas Cobra Commander hooked a city and then went clandestine.

Does that mean it will be eight smaller vehicles, then?
DESTRO:
Did you e-mail me the pics yet?
Trooper618:
Unleashed would be frakkin cool to bad hasbro discontinued the 7in. line. I collected the SW unleashed.
Omegawrath:
So rather than an underground fortress, it's more like a mocked-up mobile mountain facade with a command center inside?

    Interesting. And weird.

Yes, we've been dreaming of unleashed figures ever since that sculpt of an unleashed Storm Shadow surfaced a few years back.

plus, the fact that early on Cobra was essentially funded by Amway (aka Arbco) was pretty much genius...

Totally! And this is one of the reasons we love and celebrate Larry Hama today.
RoadShlock:
um...Zartan looks pretty plain. LOL! BTW I'm new here! Hello all!

What an abomination. This movie is going to be such a joke.
RoadShlock:
Cobra Viper + Snake Eyes = Val Kilmer in spy gear from The Saint?
camper:
    Z-z-zartan's in a... business suit??
That is a masterful disguise. I never would have guesses.

    Wait.
Does that mean *I* could be Zartan?!?

you'd prefer biker pants, a cut off shirt, and goth make-up? Not everything translates well...maybe he's playing a Bank Executive receiving government bailout money to fund terrorist activities...

Or as Citi calls it a 50 million dollar corporate jet...
artiepants:
wow, is that a terrible picture of the Breaker dude? or is it a toy?????

they Kept Ripcord Wallace Weems, lol!
Troynos:
I actually love the used car salesman thing, and the original funding of Cobra being Arbco.

I just don't think it translates as well to the big screen.
RoadShlock:
I almost DONT want to see them closer...
Troynos:
    Breaker does look horrible.

But Zartan is what I'd expect. A "real" master of disguise would be a guy that could fit in anywhere, and that's what that appears to be.
Trooper618:
Now I Know what my wife felt like on Christmas. Man what a let down. Streetfield did good by me but the cards are alet down the studio could have done better.
KALASH69:
    Zartan :'[

My hopes are almost shattered. Ill have to wait for Sunday to receive the final blow.

I can only hope that picture of him is him in disguise.
Irid70:
I think Heavy Duty looks awesome. Zartan is underwhelming, but then, should a master of disguise stick out? I love Zartan's biker look as a toy but I think that Zartan on the big screen would look horrid. On the other hand, if the only Zartan toy from the movie line is "business suit Zartan" I will be disappointed. The Doctor looks pretty decent and could make a very cool looking toy.
Hicks_Royel:
The only one that looks kinda lame is Breaker. I don't mind Zartan being in a suit for one quickly made promo card for a toy fair. Maybe it's the only photo they were allowed to use.
karamazov80:
Oh man, I laughed so hard looking at that line up. My new favorite member of Cobra is "The Doctor." And my new favorite Joe is Breaker with the huge monocle. Thanks for the picture.

Man, this movie is going to be so terrible.
Mr. Freeze:
Zartan could have looked a lot better. I'm hoping this is just a disguise and we get something slightly more traditional in the film, I don't think we will. The biker pants and cut-off shirt may not translate well on screen, but they could have come up with something better than this.

Actually I didn't think of that. If I don't go see the movie I don't have to associate the movie toys with the movie. I have been wanting a buisness suit guy for a while
