Kinda hoping for a regular Viper before we start getting the Neo, Alley, Strato, PP, Tele and all the other kinds of Vipers. And yes, I know they are all not in the movie, just an example. Hey I'll be the first in line to see if I'm proven wrong but I don't care much for this movie.
GI Joe Resolute - Now that looks exciting... Crimson Rage: Lordy lou... Flat lighting, out of context, seemingly worn by a 'non performer', no full length view to better judge proportions and detail...
Despite all the drawbacks I still think it looks good. Once a bit of 'movie magic' is woven around it I think this costume could be even more impressive. Deckard: I've seen better looking costumes at the dollar store on halloween. In all seriousness. I like the suit. I hope we will get an explanation on why it's a called a Neo Viper instead of regular Viper. But the whole tag of Neo Vipers baffles me. I am sure this will be answered in the movie (hopefully), but if CObra doesn't exsist, how can there be Vipers? Unless they are from the end of the movie, I don't know.
I want to have high hopes for this movie, but stuff like this makes me shake my head in bewilderment.
And if they wanna show this off for the first time, how about a better picture? He looks like he's in the bathroom, for crying out loud. A posed shot with a giant Cobra sigil behind him would have been way cooler and not that difficult to do. Gentleman: Although they answer to McCullen, they're called "vipers" because of their "creator" and his methods: the character named "The Doctor".
And yeah, I don't like this very much... but keep in mind it's a backstage pic and so on. rob0213: Right. Not trying to judge it too harshly. So Gentleman, have you had a chance to go over the script that leaked? Is that how you know about the Vipers and how they are named. I'd like to hear more about this "Doctor" who is neither Mindbender or Venom. Go figure, lol. HissCommander: I dont think this movie is going to completely suck per say. I just think they may have gone too far off track with the story line and the characters that it may backfire on them with the GI Joe fan base. It will probably be a good Saturday night popcorn flick though CynthiaCM: Honestly, I'm a bit underwhelmed. It looks kind of dumpy and not terribly dynamic. Of course, it may end up looking good when we see it in motion. Time will tell.
Either way, it's not going to deter me from giving the movie an honest-to-gosh chance. Gentleman: I remember there was something involving snakes for these Neo-Vipers. There's "normal" Vipers too. I don't remember if snakes had something to do with the "creation" of Neo-Vipers or if they were just used to test how these super-troopers were poison-proof.
Either way... a possible answer to the "why are they called Vipers" question could be that "the doctor" just named them that way. Maybe because snakes are involved in the procedure or maybe just for the hell of it. Or maybe he likes snakes. rob0213: Hopefully as we get closer, we'll get some better pics of Cobra troops (or MARRS troopers, whatever lol). I really wanna see Destro and CC. If even given a choice between Vipers or COBRA Troopers I'd prefer Vipers, but odds are whether it was Vipers, Troopers, CGs, IGs or even BATs odds are the movie version would never look like the originals. You guys remember Transformers right?
So far I like what I see, but that's not to say the movie won't be a train wreck.
Personally I'm more excited about Resolute. Cool. Hope so. Just curious.... what was you non spoiler take on it? GGPiKE: Looks really good for a snapshot taken in a bathroom with florescent lights with a horrible camera. I don't even think this was worth putting up. It gives fuel to the fire for people that are against the movie no matter what, and doesn't present itself well to those who are hoping the movie will succeed. It looks like it could be cool, but there's really no way to tell. |
