GI Joe Movie Baroness and Breaker Part 2

G.I. Joe Movie Rise Of Cobra Baroness Second Look - GI Joe News
Nemesis*Prime:
The body designs are alright but the faces are s***! I'd rather pay the extra 17 bucks for the new COBRA 5 pack and have that Baroness then buy this disaster on a single card.
Big Boss 83:
Baroness looks even worse than in the first pic. I don't care about Breaker so no comment.

Still, both bodies will be good for customs so it's not a total loss.
Paraflare:
Skip and....skip. wth, no glasses on the Baroness fig?? The glasses are her trademark.

Also, I know Sienna Miller is not that chubby.
Shogi:
I'm not crazy about the Baroness' head and I'll have to see if Breaker has any gear to wear because right now he just looks boring
Big Boss 83:
The more I look at Baroness' face the more I see the likeness is spot on.....

to Rosie O'Donnell.
Booga:
She has a manface.
MLos1:
...to see them with some gear and accessories.
goldendeedsofman:
i betting one of her accessories is a pair of glasses. If so we all know how those turn out. and breaker looks like a stero-type french painter from a the movies. LOL!
UMAN:
just bad.
sonofdestro:
I still say BaronAss it looks like they used the face from an old Dengar figure
MrClean:
That Breaker is prolly just the base body for all of them with new heads and gear.
Captain Carstein:
My thoughts echo a lot of the comments made already. I think the Breaker fig will look a lot better with his gear. I'll have to wait until I see her in the flesh to make my final judgement on the Baroness, but the face does seem chubby in the pic.
darthdoug:
These figs do resemble the actors. I fault the production team for choosing the wrong actors. Baroness needs bigger boobs too! (but that matches Siena Miller also).
darthdoug:

Haha... So Friggn funny!
CynthiaCM:
I'm normally the first person to step forward and defend the movie and the merchandise thereof... but I cannot defend these. They look awful, from top to bottom. I hope these are early prototypes and that the final figures will look good. But, yeah, these are flat-out ugly toys.
Beach Head curses:
Well at least someone could use Breaker's head to make a custom of Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite.

Haha...

To me it's Jeff Goldblum (customize your own Independence Day figs) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (from the movie not the tv show - just paint her hair yellow).
Jambi:
I don't know if the figures are that bad or it is because they hold no nostalgic value for me. With that Breaker I feel like I am looking at some generic army toy line. It does not look like GIJOE at ALL.

the body's great... butter face is nasty!
darthdoug:
Butter Face and Hills instead of Mountains.
DrKain:
Why does baroness look like a grandma???
Steel Brigade:
Breaker will look good with gear.
The Baroness' face looks like she's a bit worried... about the Movie. j/k
MTN:
I think I'm the absolute only person who thinks these figures are awesome. I'm buying them both. I think they look better than quite a few of the current figures we've got. The hatred for anything related to the movie has turned to stupidity. I'm glad we're getting new molds and not only do they look like the actors, they look original. Unlike almost every 25th figure part of the original 13 that has been released. By that I mean the reuse of the same head(ex. flash) and same bodies.
Derek2783:
Now that we've had a better look, and I've had a chance to think about it...

..I still think they BRATZ guys and the Joe guys accidentally swapped figures.

That's because you are.

I agree that some of the recent figures we have gotten are crap.
That doesn't excuse "Glitz-n-Glamour" Baroness and "Gay Best Friend" Breaker.

Seriously, the heads suck. It makes Baroness look like the Hunchback Bobblehead of Castle Destro. And Breaker... oy, let's just say the lil' leprechaun we already have is better by far, and that's saying something.

It's not hatred for the movie causing the bashing, it's that while the figures are "original", they still suck. Originality is not in and of itself a virtue.
ryk:
WELL its a "Chronicle of an Announced Death". WHILE I'M HAPPY GI JOE IS BACK I THINK ITS ENOUGH HAVING UPDATES OF CLASSIC FIGURES. EVERYTHING ELSE IS EVENTUALLY DESTINED TO VANISH SINCE NOTHING WILL BE AS POPULAR AS CLASSIC CHARACTERS IN THEIR CLASSIC COSTUMES. THE BEST SELLING FLINT WILL ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES; THE BEST DUKE, A GREEN BANDOLEER; THE BEST SCARLETT, A TAN LEOTARD AND SO FORTH.

THESE OTHER STUFF AND VARIATIONS ARE FINE BUT THEY ARE FOR A LIMITED GROUP OF FANS. HOPE TO BE WRONG, BUT NO REINVENTION OF GI JOE TODAY WILL HAVE SUCH A SUCCESS AS IN THE 80'S, NOT EVEN WITH ONE MOVIE OR THREE. THE BEST SELLING FIGURES WILL BE THE UPDATED VERSIONS OF THE CLASSIC ONES, AS LONG AS THEY ARE DESIGNED TRUE TO THE ORIGINALS. WHO HASN'T BOUGHT AN AIRBORNE YET?

I kinda agree, but I believe the target audience are kids. There are little to no kids today that even know what GI Joe is and whatever love there is from the 80's isn't being carried over to the next generation. The only people who would care if Flint has his gloves or not is collectors/fans such as ourselves. No kids these days would care, as long as the figure looks cool. If I were a kid and saw Bazooka in a store I keep walking. I really think that the new look of the figures are pretty cool. Of coarse the line won't be as successful as it was back in the day cause there's no show. The only reason that the best selling figures are those that have homage to the originals is because there basically no kids buying them and only collectors. Hate to say it but the toys are made for the kids and collectors not just collectors. The only way GI Joe is going to survive is to bring in a new generation to buy the product.
Foolproof:
That clinches it. She shall heretofore be known as "Butterface Baroness".

How about "Movie Baroness". The figure looks just fine to me.
Foolproof:
You want your action figures to look like they use a Bedazzler on their costumes, fine. I'm not wasting my money.
SidDarth:
That Breaker character would not last 5 minutes in the 80's heavy violence/low death rate cartoon. He would be slotted (with a laser round) in the face (Sorry Doc) on principal.

His head looks oversized and he has spindly arms like the current 12" Joes. I'm not sure a whole arsenal of accessories would help.

As for Butterface, I'll take the body but the head is starting to remind me of the main character Rocky Dennis from Mask.

Again I say:

samjjones:
FWIW, the actors faces were scanned for these figures.

And that's one of the reasons these are full of fail.
shockblast:
The breaker figure looks like a crackhead. No glasses on the Baroness just shows the Movie is a lost cause. I've really tried to be open minded about the movie, but from what I've seen so far.. I want my Spytroops and VvsV figures back at least about 50% of those were nice
rockstarfrank:
Better pictures don't improve these.

Maybe Breaker should be called Pajama Joe.
shlappyguy:
I imagine that the glasses for the Baroness will be separate, like the comic 3 pack Baroness' were. I gotta say, though, I much prefer the new 5 pack version to this movie one.
jjsvipers:
i like the figures other than the heads, hopefully i can transfer the 5pk baroness figures head onto the movie one, and another head on breaker as well, if not hopefully we will be able to buy some custom heads.
therealjondoe:
cool a david blaine figure with cock-grip hand!

Fist of all, just because someone has a differing view doesn't make it stupid. It is usually stupidity that narrows views. I respect everyone's opinion on such matters. I just don't have to agree. And just because you want to hold true to the classic version does not mean you don't want new molds. Why shouldn't the baroness be expected to have glasses on her new mold?

Not everyone is going to like the movie. I know none of us have seen it. However, I think we have gotten enough information about the plot, the actors, the costumes, the logos, the use of an "International" force, the director's style, the stunt scenes, the toy lines, the actor's comments and so forth to be able to make logical decisions. Granted we have not seen the final camera angles & special effects. However, if anything in this movie is a surprise to anyone, then maybe they are the stupid ones. For the information is out there. Let everyone form their opinions as early as they see fit and let them share them because you never know, you might just learn something from an opposing view.

Well said.

Not true. The stupidity happened a long time ago. The hatred for these figures is anything but.

It should be noted that I am a gleeful and willing party to the "stupid" hatred for the movie, simply because of how awful it's going to be. The decision to hate the movie was logical, based on the list given by darthdoug above.

THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO SUCK.
manic mailman:
there are a ton of crap figures in the 25th line, but there are also some great ones. and after seeing the resolute figures (which i was initially skeptical of) i thought hasbro had turned a corner in terms of quality of figure and a cohesive vision for what the figures should look like. its seems that these are a giant step back. they look like cheap knockoffs.
Shin-Gouki:
It just goes to show that like TF there are Joe fans that will take anything with the name on it as the best thing going, and trash anyone that disagrees.

Nuff said kid!
COL Abernathy:
At least Baroness looks like an action figure (that's the best positive comment I can muster).

The Breaker fig? It looks like some kid from Greenwich Village NYC won a "make you into a figure" contest. All he needs is a trendy satchel and a matching camo winter hat with ear flaps a pom-pom on top.
sparks007:
I am not going to bash these figures, but I am not going to buy them either
Copper21:
They still suck.

In my opinion the movie has already been made. It was made in 1987 and starred Don Johnson and Burgess Meredith. How can any remake be more awesome than that.
