That is a gas guzzling man beast. DESTRO: I can't wait to see it with the Guns attached in Camo! jjsvipers: i love that vehicle i wonder what the price will be. hectorxd: Good, another GM commercial. Thats what bummed me about Transformers. Crimson Rage: Very nice! I think it would work in combat (with a bit of hardware attached) and for shuttling Hawk around in an 'unmarked' capacity. apacolypse: Very cool!!
I hope they make these in the movie line toys! esg2145: Well, there's your updated 82' VAMP if I ever saw it.
Wonder if they'll still have the regular Humvee in there too?
. sgt.bludhound: Cool! it seems to be a trend here with hasbro and GM..
you think they'll make GM Cars in Joe scale? C.I.A.D.: Quote: |

Well, my friend, if Hollywood had to pay for vehicles, then there wouldnt be such cool ones in movies.
I can confirm that the H4 and HX aren't the gas guzzlers that they appear to be.
They are built on an updated platform similar to the H3.
They are ranked alongside the more gas efficient SUVs on the market.
Pricing depends on model & upgrades.
GM & Paramount have a great relationship that will only get better with time.
There will be vehicles made for the Movie toys, so rejoice! VIPER 48: Such a bad ass vehicle, i can't wait to see it in the movie... Echo7Solo: it would still be nice if they called it the VAMP G.I.Eddie: Quote: |

Product placement has been going on since movies have been made. So it's really nothing new, but the scale has become huge with such prominent sponsors that they take away from the storyline. That's the annoying thing here. Like with Transformers certain vehicles had to be adopted to fit the GM commercial aspects. GI Joe won't be so influenced I hope considering it's a military based theme. I mean the Hummer is already thought of as a military type vehicle. I just don't want to see a new Corvette turned into the Dreadnok's Thunder Machine. valdin: Quote: |

Movie, where only the names remain the same but whats under the hood is something very different. All I can say now is bring on the alien things and have fun with that! Basically my fears will be confirmed too. The gijoe section will be flooded with movie crap while the good stuff will be on hiatus for who knows how long. I miss regular transformers and cringe going in the toy aile and seeing nothing but movie crap. sgt.bludhound: Quote: |

yea I been seeing A LOT of Overstock when it comes to Transformers Movie figures. Not too long ago they were HOTT!!!!! now its cooled down a bit... Chris_: They should have used the Jeep JT. It would have made a cooler toy vehicle, and more fun to play with in the dirt. JoeFanPDX: Quote: |

I am excited for the movie although we know that some will be left feeling somethings missing. In this day and age when the corporations rule its hard to get out from their grasp no matter where you turn. All I want is for them to tone it down a knotch. C.I.A.D.: PDX, comments such as "True Fans"....can come of as flame baiting, so if you'd please, for future reference, refrain from using terms like that in your posts.

My apologies I should have said hardcore fans. Echo7Solo: you know with a few mods it would make a pretty cool VAMP. That is my only beef. Other than that I think it looks sweet. Snake I's: I have been checking out hisstank for a few months and I had to sign up and post a reply because I can't beleave how many people whine so much about every little thing when it comes to this movie. I mean have you looked at the vamp ever? That hummer looks great, one of the best choices that have been made so far. And I was the first kid on my block back in the 80's to get the first 13 so I am and will always be a hardcore fan. Echo7Solo: I don't mind updates and stuff. I dig the VAMP and this would be a pretty cool upgrade to one. But Snake I's is right about one thing. We do whine way too much if it isn't exactly the way we want it. For me GI Joe is still stuck in the 80's and I see my new stuff as if it was still the 80's. They answer to President Reagan and Rock N Roll is a huge Van Halen fan. Regardless of what the movie says or does my views will never change. Just like Transformers. Once you get past the flames Prime is still Prime. Did the way he look make him any less heroic? I still wish he was the orignal but it was still Optimus Prime. GI Joe will be the same........... just as long as Duke is captured at some point Echo7Solo: Ok can you see this as the new VAMP? Just a quick photoshop to give an idea of what might be cool. Dark 5cythe: Whoa, american gaz guzzlin beast. Very cool. Amberbratt: if your going to buy it i suggest getting a FJ Cruiser (instead)
I have one and its cool (2007 voodoo blue) LOADED (everything!!)
Plus its not an "american car" and wont break down 3 blocks from the dealership :P Amberbratt: someone photoshop this badboy in s0me firefly camo *urban style* with cobra logos....
I want to do that with my truck!! jjsvipers: hey your right that fj cruiser is awesome maybe they can strike a deal with toyota as well and make fj's into cobra stingers. WildWeasel: I'm not so much bothered by the fact there will be GM vehicles in this as to what degree there will be. Like with Matrix Reloaded the highway scene. Every freakin' vehicle (or like 98%) was a GM vehicle and to those that know this, it was extremely annoying. With the TF Movie it wasn't as bad, but to say that every Autobot would just randomly scan a GM vehicle is stupid.
I understand C.I.A.D.'s comment about if Hollywood didn't accept these essentially "paid advertisements" from the automakers, we wouldn't get the cool vehicles, but come on it gets a little ridiculous looking at a whole scene of the same manufacturers vehicles. tile_mcgillus: I think it could be really cool. That car should fit in with the future weaponry they are supposedly using. I hope it does have some crazy missiles attached to it as well.
I am not worried about the advertisement so much in GIJOE. It really stood out in TF. These vehicles will be a backdrop to the story...not THE story. ginrai: well the fact they are using Civilian vehicles, and ones made by GM at that.. Its small complaints compared to the rest of my list about this movie..
But it is annoying.. I wonder if Cobra will use all concept fords made by Saleen, so that Hasbro can continue to make them angry like they did with Transformers. DESTRO: Quote: |
Originally Posted by ginrai well the fact they are using Civilian vehicles, and ones made by GM at that.. Its small complaints compared to the rest of my list about this movie.. | Really? Because the Military never uses Hummers. RolandofGilead: I don't know, I look at that and I can totally see a GI Joe vehicle somewhere in there. DESTRO: Quote: |
Originally Posted by RolandofGilead I don't know, I look at that and I can totally see a GI Joe vehicle somewhere in there. | 100% agree! And when they start selling them at the Hummer dealer you can pimp one on the street. sharke: think this will look great in the film! maybe more sigma 6 like to me but still looks to be a good fit. Originally Posted by hectorxd Good, another GM commercial. C.I.A.D.: For all of those that don't like to read, move along, this post is going to be a LONG ONE.
#1 When "you" feel that "your" favorite car company would have been better, should have been chosen, etc...shoot them a letter. See if you get a response. Last time I checked, GM was the only company offering the vehicles for free, whereas everyone else wants to charge.
#2 "Oh noes! Teh moviez haz teh GMz in it, just liek transformers!"...yep, and it's probably going to gross a bajillion dollars domestic just like Transformers did too, so get shelf space for it ready now, so "you" can be sure to buy a copy like "you" did with Transformers.
#3 Last time I checked, GM actually beat Toyota in quality for the first time in a LONG TIME. Or wait, maybe I'm just crazy..but the Malibu is Car of the year, right? Next time youw ant to talk "Quality", google search Lexus + Oil Sludge...and find out why Toyota, the great that it is, doesn't want John Q. Consumer knowing that it's high-ticket line, the Lexus, has a HUGE lawsuit pending because of BAD OIL in it's cars, leading to bad engines, leading to pissed off consumers...which lead to Toyota saying "too bad for you, consumer".
Everyone is allowed to their opinions. Please, the internet is a great tool. If anyone wants to share their opinion, by all means, do so, but do the research first, because all the arguments laid out on the table so far are bunk.
First Argument - GM vehicles, again? Yes. Last time I checked, the Military doesn't rock daewoos.
Second Argument - American Quality sucks!: Ok, I can agree, it did, there's no doubt there. Our companies have done A LOT to lose that Moniker.
Finally....I'm not calling anyone out, but for those that thump their chest while screaming out AMERICA in other threads (ie - The Joe Logo and anything movie related), you shouldn't preach on about how American cars suck and you'd prefer to see something else...kinda makes "you" look like a hypocrite, capiche?

Right, I see them using Hummer H3s in Iraq on the news all the time.. They go with those guns which never run out of bullets.
HMMWV /= Hummer HX
The HMMWV was made by AM General which is owned by LTV. They simply license the Brand and Visual characteristics to GM for the Hummer line.. Which makes the GM Hummer H1, H2, H3, H4 and HX.. Civilian models.
Its nothing against GM, I simply hate product placement. having Brand names in focus where I can read them is almost as annoying as a refrigerator with everything turned backwards. DESTRO: Quote: |

Right because G.I. Joe is a real Military Unit and we are not talking about a Fictional Movie! My Bad.... Quote: |

| I would love to see how you manage to watch TV at any given time of the day. Or take a drive on the highway with all the billboards around. That must really give you an aneurysm. I would never go to Time Square if I was you. RolandofGilead: Quote: |

Unfortunately, no, they won't come as standard options. I already asked
For whatever reason, no one thinks a cow catcher & grenade launcher are good "add ons". aussietrooper20: I dont think its good, cause it makes me think that there going to use real military vehicles for the film, and non of those that hasbro created in the past like in the 80's such as the H.I.S.S. tanks.
