_*SYNOPSIS*_
G. I. JOE is the code name for America's daring highly-trained special
missions force.
Its purpose: to defend human freedom against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist
organization determined to rule the world!
1n 1983 Hasbro made a bold statement when it launched its classic toy
line of action heroes as an adventure-based team of unique characters,
each with his -- and her -- own specialties. And because it captured
the imaginations and hearts of boys and girls aspiring to make a
difference in the world, /G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/ was an
immediate success lasting over 25 incredible years.
Now you can relive the original animated adventures of Duke, Scarlett,
Snake Eyes, Flint, Lady Jaye and the rest of the team with this 17-disc
collector's set of /G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/, including all 95
episodes, brand-new bonus features celebrating G.I. Joe's rich history
and an exclusive 1-GB "dog tag" flash drive packed with G.I. Joe Comics! Fast_Draw: I can't wait, ordered mine back on May 29th. germ: does this include the DIC series as well ? Lantern_Lad: Quote:

And I absolutely love the disc art. They went all out with this set!!! | Important questions:
1) Are we sure this set will be Dicless because it wouldn't be the "complete series" without them. Doesn't matter if we love or hate em, we're gonna need the Dic episodes as well. If Hasbro was gonna omit a cartoon due to quality, the only classic Transformers toon we'd be seeing is the movie!
2) How do Shout pre-orders work? Will they bill my card now or on the 7/15?
Thanks. Headman: Dic pwnd. How can you not like Cobra Commander getting molested by an ape? bran-chan: Quote:

The set will not have the DIC series. The person working on it, B Ward, has said so.
And Shout charges your card right away. I checked when I pre-ordered mine with Transformers last month. Grand Slam: Quote:

My card was also charged right away... snackrabbit: Anyone know how wide a release this will have in "brick and mortar" stores? It's roughly a month away and not listed on Best Buy's website, only season 1.1... I have terrible luck getting these kinds of box sets delivered without damage and would likely not buy it if I can't pick it up at Best Buy or Fye... C.I.A.D.: Quote:

In addition, when your order ships we will send you an e-mail to let you know that your order is on its way.
| Dr. Phd.: I'm real tempted to buy this set. I *think* it would be cheaper to buy this than the individual seasons. The box set looks fantastic and some of the extras sound pretty interesting. LtDom: Quote:

Shout! Factory | I can vouch for what Fast Draw is saying as I got it with the Transformers series on May 30th and it was a temporary charge that went away. Also indicated the availability as being July 15th for the GI Joe. cobralalalala!: I did my preorder two weeks ago, I can't wait for it to ship! The only bummer is they charged my card immediately. Never mind, I just read the previous posts. arashikage tat: Im not sure what to think, I tried to pre order it and it wouldn't let me. I have pending charges for bills and what not so it seems like I'm gonna have to wait until my next payday as well. It just said it declilned it..so it makes me think they are trying to charge it right now
Wow I'm so broke right now lol bran-chan: The temp charge probably sees if you have enough on the card to cover it then.
They haven't said what retail outlets will be getting the box set, only that it's available at the SDCC and on their website first.
Also as posted on the Shout forum by B Ward who is in charge of the project Oh, and to answer the questions about running times and how many episodes, etc... We are not moving into the DiC Entertainment years, only Sunbow. We have a pretty good relationship with the company once known as DiC, but have no real relationship with Cookie Jar, so it's not really as simple as giving 'em a call. Doesn't mean it'll never happen. But it does mean that the DiC incarnation of the series will not be included in our complete series set, nor will we be working on those season sets anytime soon.
In addition, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero - Season 1.1 will include both original miniseries. theriseofcobra: QUESTION:
Does the dvd-set include season 2 part 2? samantha: I will be picking up this set. theriseofcobra: GODDAMN IT!!!
"We regret that we are unable to ship your order to Denmark.
Please change your shipping country or empty your shopping cart." bran-chan: Quote:

Kaisugi: Do we know if the video and audio are the same as the Rhino release? or if the running order is the same as Rhino? I seem to remember that Rhino added some funky sound effects here and there, and also used the wrong opening credits for season one right? Anyone know if those have been fixed? Blot: Sigh... even though there is a drop down box with Great Britain listed, it will not ship to the Uk...
Screwed once again... samantha: There really is a lot of content in this set. Dreadnok619: Preordered both the Joe and TF sets a couple weeks ago. With all this hype with both Hasbro franchises I feel like I'm back in the 80's. 2009 Rocks! sweeper: So does anyone have a coupon for this? snakeplissken1: Yes they do charge your account, But basicly put the money back in after like 5 business days, they kind of check to see if you have the funds to pay for it. CaptThunderLion: Does it include the movie? Because if it doesn't then as far as I'm concerned it's not the complete series.!!!!.....what the heck I'm going to buy it anyway. I JUST WANT THAT @(&^@*_ MOVIE! BIG LOB was the man. ChaplainAsst: Not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but in an interview in a magazine (I think it was "Toy Fare" or something like that), the producer of the Transformers set talked about how they worked with the same prints that Rhino used, but then went on to say that they looked at the boards to see where these prints weren't accurate color wise or left out scenes, etc. In those cases, they went back to the originals and inserted missing scenes, recolored incorrect outfits, and worked to get things to look like they did originally. The producer said they were able rework the edits to the point that you won't notice the changes unless you are REALLY looking for them. (This was true for both the Transformers and GI Joe.) So, I won't say that this release is just a repackaging of the Rhino videos. It would seem this is a definitive collection. JamesxOnly: This looks just incredible. I placed my order for it. I'll probably pick up the individual ones too if they come with different goodies which they probably will. Dreadnok619: No Joe movie included. The TF set also does not include the movie. 245am: Quote:

Here's the quote from their site's Q&A about the TF set Quote: |
Hasbro provided us with the same masters Rhino used for their releases. HOWEVER... There have been changes made. I, personally, went to New York, where the original broadcast one-inch masters are housed, and found each of the problem areas, in regards to animation. Before the question is asked, I'll answer it now. The one-inch masters have not physically held up well over the years. In some cases, they're nearly unwatchable. Therefore, instead of simply transferring and using masters of the one-inches, we found every instance of faulty animation demonstrated on a YouTube video or mentioned in a rundown we could find online (and even found some of our own) and corrected them, replacing the faulty digibeta master material with the best-quality one-inch source material. Finally, we color corrected everything to match--as best we could--the shots before and after. Surprisingly, unless you know specifically what you're looking for, you won't even notice many of the instances of slightly softer picture. It looks REALLY good.
| Many of you already know this, and I hate to send traffic somewhere else, but a lot of the questions that are coming up here have already been asked and answered on shoutfactory's forum where Brian Ward, the SF guy in charge of the TF and Joe Collector Sets, posts fairly regularly with answers to fan questions...

Might find a lot of answers to your questions there before asking them again here...I particularly liked the tidbit Brian dropped that, although the movie isn't included, there is "a nice spot within the set's packaging just waiting for it." Melt: 1GB? Could've thrown a 4GB in there at least!
That's an expensive set but I'm going to have to get it. I think all the extras make it worth it. Cobra Fox: Will someone be kind enough to tell me what the heck is a PSA's?? CdtWeasel: Public Service Announcement coola784: i cant wait, this set is sweet! Dawg99: awesome set gonna definetly pick one up Cobra Fox: Okaaaay....what's so special about that with dvd's contents? Is that where Ronald Reagan annouced the new G.I.Joes series coming to tv??
