Earlier today, Filmdrunk posted an article about an alleged script leak for GI Joe 2. Here's what they posted initially: This morning I got an email from I guy with a story about how he has a friend who works in a studio. The story was sort of involved, but long story short, the friend saw the script for G.I. Joe 2 (written by Zombieland’s Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese) entitled “Twin Parallax” lying around, so he stole it, and left a copy in its place. The emailer included a PDF of the script in question.
Filmdrunk was skeptical, and with reason, the situation reeks of HE TELL ME. So Steve Weintraub of Collider.com sought out to get the truth, and contacted scripwriter Rhett Reese, who replied: Steve, it’s a total hoax, this ‘Twin Parallax’ script. I’ve seen the cover page. It does have our names on it and a fake Paramount watermark. I didn’t read the script itself, but it’s absolutely not ours, and thus is bogus. The real first draft of GI Joe 2 is not yet finished and has not gone into the studio.
With 2 years to possibly go until the premiere of GI Joe 2, who knows then the script will be available.

HISS Tank boards member ocab27 has come through with images of a Neo Viper Officer prototype. As you can see, this is distinctly different than the one released in the 2009 Attack on the PIT set exclusive to Toys R Us. Instead of using a Neo Viper body as a base, this prototype instead uses the Rise of Cobra mold of Destro, with a Neo Viper head.
It's planned destination at retail, reason for cancellation and related information is up in the air, join the speculation and see the images by hitting the title bar!

It turns out, the sequel may start shooting next spring for a release in summer 2012, also the GI Joe Real American Hero 30th Anniversary. Bonaventura hasn't said whether the cast from Rise of Cobra will return for the sequel: MTV: So then you'd start shooting when?
di Bonaventura: We'd probably start next spring.
MTV: Are Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the rest of the main cast going to return?
di Bonaventura: We haven't defined it yet. We're gonna keep that under wraps for the moment. They all did great and we liked them all. It's hard to manage as many characters as we tried. It would make life a little easier to have a few less. It'd be a hard decision to lose anybody, because they all did great.
As far as bringing Larry Hama onboard he hasn't been brought onboard yet. The crew will probably finish up the 1st draft of the script, and give it to him for review, like they did with the 1st movie.
With the success of movies such as Avatar in 3D, MTV, asked if GI Joe 2 will go 3D: MTV: Have there been any conversations about doing the sequel in 3-D?
di Bonaventura: No, I mean we're still working on getting the script. I'd definitely be open to it, but that's Paramount's decision. But myself and whoever the director is would have a big say in that. But at this point, we haven't gotten into that conversation.
So who will be the director? Who will return? Would you like the sequel to be 3D?

The GI Joe Rise of Cobra line had some hits and misses, a lot of which could be seen with the alpha vehicle assortment(s). While the 1st wave took a while to take off of shelves, the 2nd wave gathered some steam, and the 3rd wave was highly anticipated.
So imagine the dismay when it was announced that the 3rd wave was canceled. Then it was said that the vehicles were merely delayed until early 2010. Then Hasbro said some trickled out into stores. The amount of members who have these wave 3 vehicles in hand is small. Will wave 3 make a wider release eventually? That's anyone's guess.
One of the most anticipated items was the Mole Pod repaint, but not essentially for the vehicle. No, the excitement was primarily for it's driver, the Volcano Viper. Sure it uses a base from another figure but it has a slew of new parts! While the Lava Pod with Volcano Viper has yet to reach widespread distribution, click on the discuss button to read Steel Brigade's review of the Lava Viper!

The Night Adder with attack dog was released as part of wave 4 in the GI Joe Rise of Cobra line. While it didn't make an appearance in the movie, like other off-screen characters, this figure was sought after, as well as it's blue tatoo variant.
Depending on where you are, this figure was easy to find at one point, but now, like other waves 4-5 figures, its harder to find compared to waves 1-3 figures like the Baroness & Neo Viper. If you are still on the fence about picking one up, click on the discuss button to read Steel Brigade's review of the Night Adder!

In a move that may, or may not surprise you, Duke from GI Joe Rise of Cobra, aka Channing Tatum, has stated that he does not like action movies. Inthenews.co.uk talked with Tatum about his recent work, and it turns out, he prefers drama over action: "I don't like action movies!" he laughed. "They're not that interesting. They're fun to do because of the physical element, I guess, but most of the exciting stuff, like running into an exploding building, they won't let you do that!"
He continued: "There's something absolutely exhilarating about [a scene of] sitting on a beach with someone and just opening up and trying to be really honest."
Awww, but what if Baroness goes back to being bad in GI Joe 2?
