daremo:
Next up in the series is the Manriki-Gusari.
    Difficulty: 2/5

    Step 1. Tools and Supplies:
    Wire Cutter
    Small Saw
    Hobby Knife
    Tweezers
    Super Glue
    Sand Paper/File
    3/32" Tube
2 jackstay eyebolts (get them here)
    Chain (get it here)

    Step 2. Cut:
Take the 3/32" tube and cut 2 sections (5/16") with the saw. Using the saw will allow you to avoid any crushing of the tube when you cut it. Sand the ends of both tubes. Using the wire cutter, cut a 2" section of chain.

    Step 3. Attach:
First, we'll attach the chain to the eyebolts. I take a hobby knife to open the jackstay eyebolt up (pics here post #5). Then stick the long end of the eyebolt through the chain until it reaches the eye and close it back up with your fingers or tweezers. Repeat this 1 more time so you end up with a section of chain with eyebolts on each end. Now take one of the tubes that you cut and glue one eyebolt to the end of it. Glue the other eyebolt to the other section.

    Step 4. Paint:
Once everything has been attached and the glue has dried, it's time to paint. I'm using Testors Model Masters Acrylics. First, prime the weapon. Then paint the whole thing flat black. Paint the chains steel. Once the paint dries, seal it with Testors Glosscote or Dullcote.

    Step 5. Detail:
Alternatively, you can add detail like bands to the ends. Don't forget you can fill the holes with green stuff too.

Go ahead and give this one a try. Good Luck!

    Next up: Fukiya/Blowgun

Green stuff is 2 part epoxy, yeelow and blue, mixed makes green stuff. You can get it off the games workshop online site. Also goes by the name kneadtite, and you can get it off ebay.
