Night Force Night Reaper jet.

ENJOY !!! | | Credit: Cold Slither of the Hiss Tank Forums! | Views: 1,473 | | Cold Slither: I call her the Night Reaper. I was going to apply decals, but I decided I like the unadorned, stealthier look.
 Jaybird: That is looking really cool! That change in color gives it a totally different attitude. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics. What paints did you use for this project? Cold Slither: a few more.
I started out by doing a complete dis-assembly, removed stickers and sanded every piece.
Sprayed the fuselage with a few coats of plasti-kote sandable black. Topped it with another couple coats of Krylon Fusion gloss black. I left the underbelly glossy, but sanded the sheen from the top half. I really dig the two-tone effect I got.
I primed the missiles, bombs and cockpit/engine assembly and hand painted them with Folk Art paints. I gave the missiles and bombs a few coats of clear for gloss and durability.

All the same, I like it a lot. | Man, I usually go for total realism. It pained me to paint those missiles red, but I wanted it to be a Night Force homage. I plan on selling this so I figured a true Night Force fan would want the red.

anyway, crazy sweet job man. i love it! did other night force vehicles have red accents? i dont even remember vehicles for the night force TRU exclusives back in the day. only colors i remember are black, grey, and brown? night force was sweet. they were like my "snake eyes team".

I've always wanted to know how you customizers get the paint applied so smoothly. Did you use spray paint? If not, what kind of brush was used? Thanks! Konigstiger: Aircraft should always be sprayed or airbrushed. Flint4107: Sweet! Hasbro should do a mass production on that color scheme.
I loved the Night Force color scheme I just didn't care for the glow in the dark decals. That seemed counter productive to stelth black paint apps to have glowing labels slapped all over the place telling cobra "Hey I'm right here! Blow me up!"
If you get a hair up your @$$ and decide it needs some decals, you could buy one of those SR-71 Spy plane or one of those Delta wing stelth bomber models and use the decals from one of those. The white air force sympols on the wings and tail fins and the red pin striping would look too cool for words. Mr.Kane: Now Thats is 1 great homage. AMERICAN_Hero7: Well, we know hasbro has produced night force tunnel rat, outback, shockblase(wave), and falcon. We also know they love to repaint the conquest so this is a very possible "upcoming" vehicle for the line. I would love for this to be produced and come with another one of the nice force guys. Fierce Krypton: Really awesome man, only thing I might do is add some small text stickers to the missiles and wings, not anything big like logos or anything but just enough to make it look a little more like a real plane. |
