Custom Modern Era Battleforce 2000 Team

In 1987, Hasbro introduced us to Battleforce 2000, a Hi-Tech unit of G.I.Joe. The team included 6 characters, with each being the driver/pilot of an experimental vehicle. Each vehicle had components that would merge to form the G.I.Joe Future Fortress. Another character was introduced to the team in 1989, but was not designated as a driver/pilot. Thankfully...er....I mean sadly, almost all the members of BF2K were killed in the battle of Benzheen, except for Dodger, who was later re-assigned to the G.I.Joe team's Sonic Fighters brigade.

Your fellow HissTanker Ian has given new life to the long gone sub-team; even going as far as making one of the characters female! You need to check out his modern era updates of Avalanche, Blaster, Blocker, Dodger, Knockdown, Maverick & Dee-Jay!

Join us after the jump to see each character in detail and to share your thoughts on these awesome customs!

RogueReSCuE:
Perfect! When do they hit retail?
GeneralxRon:
Nice work
Superjoe74:
Battle Force 2000 came out after my initial collecting days as a child in the '80's and even though I am not entirely familiar with their back story, I would like to see the team produced in the ME style for a Convention set, for retail or an Internet exclusive pack. I would much rather have new characters produced than just simple repaints like Tiger Force or Night Force.
yeti76:
These are great!
dpstro:
Not a fan of BF2000 but these are great!!!!
steve2477:
Female Knockdown came out better than i expected. Fantastic work on all of them. Front paged well deserved.
Ian:
Yeah, front page :-)

Thanks !!!
jumido:
You absolutely nailed every single one. Nailed 'em. This would make a great internet only exclusive
rglass2:
Those were fun then and they are awesome now.
Loose Cannon:
Nice those came out great!
07GT500 COBRA:
I would never buy BF2000, just thought they were a ridiculous concept and looked it too. That said, I can recognize skilled craftsmanship, and I do like several elements you pulled off like the weathered gear for example.

A BF 2000 exclusive set would be a no-hesitation-buy for me.

Great work on the customs!

Ace and Blocker are my favorites.
FirstReality:
Count me in on the BF2K exclusive set. Happily drop money on that, especially if they looked this good. Your Maverick, who's been a favorite figure of mine since I was a kid, is spot-on.

I do have to ask - she looks fantastic, but why is Knockdown a girl now?
80sKid:
I like the new take on these, nice work. Not to take anything away from your work but do you or anyone remember like a year ago another customizer did the 6 man BF2000 team as perfect modern versions of the originals. I mean they were dead on perfect modern updates.

Simply because I wanted to have a girl in the team and that I thought that the design of Scarlett renegade figure worked perfectly for knockdown

I think you're talking about Heretic's customs MSWI CUSTOMZ: BATTLE FORCE 2000 BLASTER

Although he used a lot of parts from the vintage figures they are incredible and a source of inspiration for my project. I wanted to used as much modern parts so beside dodger's helmet, maverick chest plate (both cast from original) and knockdown's helmet the rest is modern and sculpting
GAAWAY:
All are excellent. Don't know much about BF2K but I do know what I like & I like this group.
Troynos:
I've always liked Blaster and Avalanche. Dodger, Avalanche and Dee Jay are great. Blaster is good but not liking the helmet.

Thanks
Jinx723:
These are just awesome. Great work, nicely done. Dodger's my favorite and Renegade Cobra Trooper is perfect for Blaster.
GMW79:
I, like others, never really liked BF2K, but these are great!

As for Knockdown's change in gender, I guess his/her filename would no longer be Blaine M. Gonsalves, so I'd like to propose Brianne M. Gonsalves as an alternative.

Why not ;-)
shakka85:
Nicely done! Only one minor critique: fix the eyes on Avalanche and Blaster... They have Marty Feldman eyes! ;)

These are great! Really like Dodger, Blocker, and the new take on Knockdown. Really sharp looking. I'm one of the minority that always liked BF2K, good to see others supporting.

My only critique would be the size the of Knockdown's helmet - it looks way too big for the female figure. Dodger's also seems a little big, but not as bad.

Keep up the good work!
sparkhunter:
I would so sign up for JOe Con if these were an exclusive and the battle fortress was offered, but it has to break into the six vehicles.
Ian:
I have some ideas for the vehicles not sure if I'll make them, we'll see

For knockdown's helmet I feel the same way, any suggestions ate welcome
vermillion21:
Damn - these look amazing!! Great job!!
icecreamman:
Superb work! Dodger is my favorite BF2000.
sonoftimmy:
Cool stuff! Love them all. Wish Hasbro would do sometype of modern take on these figures or sometype of GIJoe in space. Like GIjoe 2099 or something.
MJjoe4life:
Great to see them all finished!!! These freakin rock!!!! I really like Dodger and Blocker. I really like what u did with Knockdown. Growing up this was one of my favorite subset of figures.
nighthawk:
Really nice! Love how they all have removable helmets too. It's a long shot but it would be nice if Hasbro releases a BF2000 set. I just hope it's not the club that does it though.
FlintWO2:
Man those are awesome!
Ian:
Thanks everybody
deadfish:
sweet!!! loved bf2000...great updates!
Ian:
thanks
