Your fellow HISS Tanker Shipwreck has taken a 30th Skystriker and repainted it into a G1 Decepticon Thundercracker !
“Generation One Color Correct versions are hard to really master. Some use something similar to it. Occasionally you hit something on a mark. I’ve had people tell me, color plastics will be lighter then painted plastics. Which is true. Same with the case of Thundercracker. He is more of a Blue Metallic, which is what is on the Dodge Viper GTS. This color is also very close to the pigments of flake found in the original and reissue Thundercracker figure.”Click the Discuss button for all the pics & details.

That said.. in my earlier thread
which can be viewed here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...shipwreck.html
I had shown a picture of my original thundercracker( with bare wings) and the SDCC Thundercracker from Generations.. two different blue tones. So I went with something between the two, the final product which is below.. is what became of that rendition.
Now, I mentioned previously to those who were interested in the mediums I had used. Here they are.
Mediums for Thundercracker.
Paint- Dodge Viper Blue Metallic PPG $33.00 for the batch I used.
Paint that is Highly similar would be pearl Blue by Testor's Model Master. ( Check it out. I used this stuff on a car before and it is really stand up. give it a try! ) around 6.50 a can. Much cheaper! But gives a real close effect.
Paints for the stripes- Pure White(Tamiya), and Flame Red( Model Master) Pearl Clear(Tamiya), Clear Coat(Tamiya)
Faction Graphics by Reprolabels.com
Masking tapes used.
Blue 3M painter's tape
and Frisket Film
tools: Exacto #11 hobby blades and handle., Philips head Screw driver, Multiple grit sanding strips, Sanding wet sanding paper grades 700-12000 Grit. Turtle Wax Polishing compound, Zymol Wax, Cotton cloth and microfiber application pad.
Why did this project get done? - THis project had been in my head since owning two original Skystrikers. But since they are hard to complete. let alone customize.. I waited for the 30th to hit.
The other reason is .. Rising Phoenix2. She is my better half and I'd do anything for her within reason of course! Anyway Besides my love of G.I.Joe, I'm also a transformers fan.. so happens.. so is she.
Thundercracker is her favorite decepticon , followed closely by Skywarp. TC is my favorite Decepticon, alongside Ravage. So.. it fit perfectly that she`d like me to put my Model skills to good use.. so.. I built her TC. TC was built out of Love for my girl, and for the Transformers of yesteryear!

Tail section Logos arrived, so.. here they Are!
reworked cockpit
Leather seat. took a while to get the right folds and uneven lines to this! but added infared targeting systems, and a talk box for TC in the center(hence red dot.) I did not want a traditional set up since TC is sentient to begin with. I may add more color depth but at the moment.. I'm pleased! Enjoy!
