HISSTank.com member kingphilbert used City Strike Snake Eyes as a starting base for his custom Modern Era G.I. Joe 1991 Snake Eyes, other parts were used so this is more than a straight up repaint.

When City Strike Snake-Eyes finally became available in my area I knew one would end up in this manner paying tribute to the 1991 V4 release. This wasn't even a Snake-Eyes that I considered to be in my era of Joe. I rem seeing him in stores and thinking this was terrible. This is actually my second attempt at this version of SE (the first among my first customs and now long gone). I always thought the basic design had potential.
Gone are the bulky biceps in favor of SE's more traditional arm pockets from previous uniforms. Gone are the blue stripes on in his pants, but added are two blue belt pouches to balance him out. No commando vest? I think the sweater vest top does the trick to bring a large portion of light grey to the figure and to lessen his bulkiness. And, the modern CS SE head sculpt is the perfect update to the "paintball" mask he had.
Luckily this idea didn't stay shelved. As I said, I knew I would remake this version of SE, but it was planned, then pushed back, then uplanned, then replanned. Once I finally had the right parts I felt it clicked and needed to get it done. Started Friday and finished by Sunday.

Where are the neon red swords? WHERE? He's not complete without them! (The original version of this guy is one of my favorite figures ever and definitely my favorite Snake Eyes.)

For some this reason, this snake eyes just exudes all kinds of awesomeness!
This is a case when the new figure takes all the great elements of the figure that inspired it and takes it to an entirely new level
great work!
