KingOfVillains:
This is my first custom vehicle. I'm pretty proud of it. A lot of the comments have mentioned that the CG are an elite unit and wouldn't drive such a beat up vehicle. My response is...every elite unit is gonna' have it's renegades no matter what. Perhaps these two take pride in how much action they and their CGAV have been through. They don't feel the need to have it fixed up because it displays character.

Or perhaps two Vipers stole some CG uniforms and jacked one of their jeeps. COBRAAAAA!

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Driftbot:
    that's friggin AWESOME!
love the idea and makes sense.

the bullet holes make me think of that scene in True Lies where tom arnold hides behind the light pole hahahaha

really nice work! congrats on your first vehicle custom, its a success!!!
PREACHER007:
i like it.it looks really shiny though, but i still like it.
arch2b:
awsome job! i've been soo tempted to do a cg vamp myself but i'm holding out till the stinger comes out. who knows, the way these are sitting on shelves, i may just end up doing one anyway.

in particular, i like the weathering details added.
mikeTime:
    Nice weathering
jezones:
looks great, nice weathering. not all vehicles stay new looking, but im sure the twins will have them buffing and sanding and bondoing until the thing looks new. well until the next battle
Phalsis:
    Great job on the weathering!
Good match up on the paint to the Crimson Guard red.
KingOfVillains:
I'm starting to like my "perhaps" more and more of two jacka** Vipers stealing 2 CG uniforms and jackin' the truck!

    HA HA!
TheTransTorture:
    Looks great !
VIPER 48:
Very cool ride for the Crimson Guard...
CLIFFjump3r:
The vehicle colors match the CGs perfectly. I like it.
Cobra88:
    awsome!!!!!!!!
Octane:
As much as I hate the thought of Cobra "stealing" US Army property, the execution came out looking good.

As for the bullet dents, how were they done? Did you chip the plastic and paint it silver?
CG23:
    That is sick! Great work!
evlgtr:
Allthough not really a fan of the idea myself,I have to say you've done a great job with it.

The weathering and detail on it is awesome, the only thing I can see to pick at is the bullet holes. Maybe a little smaller next time unless you were going for the look of shell damage...if you were, my apologies,I stand corrected

But that aside, its damn good, way better than any of my attempts in the past.
JLPYTHON:
Very cool - I'd like to know as well - how did you do those bullet holes? But again, very nice job!
GothJoe:
Looks great, but why feel the need to defend that its beaten up? Would anyone expect a vehicle to go through battle unscratched? I mean sure, after the battle, they may be repairing it like there's no tomorrow, but even the most elite units cant keep bullets from hitting their vehicle. This looks like a "during battle" custom, and that's just fine!
KingOfVillains:
Bullet holes were done with the drill bit of my Dremel. Silver paint inside and make sure to spread it over the edges of the bullet holes to give the true effect of it taking paint with it.

I used bigger holes because I wanted it to look like heavy artillery fire.

Glad you guys like it, for the most part.
BOMBSHELLMIKE:
    very smooth job!
SuperCam:
You did a great job I love it. I have always liked the CG and any thing that goes with them, Between this and the CG hiss from earlier today they have some pretty cool rides now.
MAJOR WOLF:
    Great Job!
Tunnel Rat:
good job on the custom vehicle. i wish hasbro would take a look at the customs people make and get some ideas from them
rob0213:
Quick question. Getting ready to do my first custom, a CG vehicle as well. What color did use you use for the base? I want to match it as closely to CG colors aas possible.

hey man when you taped them wheels off to spray the rims, how did you do it? cus i see some major leaks! what kind of tape? wider tape is hard to make a circle! it can be done i have done it! but it sucks an very time consumin'! one way you could've done wit' some wider tape, is cover the rim but as you are bout to put the tape to the rim make sure you tuck it in that crease real good wit ya finger nail, do the same all over the rim , till the tape is completely tucked no air pockets round where the rin an tire meet! then take a thin blade an cut along the rim , pull off that center pce of tape you jus' cut! an another way is to get real real thin tape for like auto body , you can do any curve wit this stuff an then over wrap that wit wider tape to cover the rest of the tire! to me , since i paint for a livin, an know bout tape an what not! it looks like you used blue tape like 2 inch wide an tried to cover the tire an as you were tapin out the rim it like couldnt make the turn, an bunched up an left a air pocket. an blue tape yellow green whatever color they got out now purple even they all lift! an finger prints will stop adhesion, so clean wit some rubbin alc an since its plastic clean plastic an tape will bond pretty well. jus some tips man, cus i see the paint on the tire an i know how to avoid it! it loooks great though man how did you do them bullet holes are they decal? or paint, an the weathering looks sweet man nice job!
arch2b:
fyi, i use 1/2" yellow tamiya mask tape. absolutley wonderful stuff.
DESTRO:
Nice job! I think Hasbro should take a look at this one for an official release.

I got the red Krylon Fusion. It was almost a perfect red and it bonds to plastic and dries in 10-15 minutes. It's wonderful. Also, not a harsh fume either.

Thanks for the tips. I actually painted the tires black again and got the excess paint covered. They look normal again. I was just stoked to have it finished and had to snap pics quickly lol.
Zefram:
I can understand why some people might have issues with the highly ceramonial CGs driving around in that, it's definately not something Cobra would have in a parade or on display for visiting higher-class criminals. On the other hand, stuff taken into combat gets beat up, and bullet-holes are scars that add character to any well-ridden vehicle. That thing actually looks like it's gone up against the Joes and gotten it's drivers back safely. I'll definately agree that Cobra Commander wouldn't want people to his personal elite driving that thing in public, but those CGs who actually see combat on a regular basis would be proud of it, and so should you be as well.
flywheels:
This is your FIRST custom?! Wow, can't wait to see your future projects...
numb007:
I love it! I wish I knew how to make the paint look like that. That is awesome.

KingOfVillains:
I can't believe all of the great feedback I'm getting. I'm really proud of it, but I wasn't sure what other enthusiasts would think about it.

This is awesome and is definitely pushing me to do more customs.

I've already begun the work on my Crimson R.O.C.C. so that should be really interesting. I guess I could give a sneak preview tomorrow with pics of the newly painted jet that goes inside of it. Stay tuned!
Dreadnoks-R-Go:
Wow! Great job!! Really love the bullet holes on the side!
daremo:
Great job on the weathering and battle damage. Sweet ride.

DevilDog00:
Totally cool custom! If the Joe's can have a Jeep why can't Cobra, right!?! Especially a Crimson Guard jeep! Now if you only had the Crimson Hiss with the ASP.
KingOfVillains:
Oh I have the Crimson Sabotage set...but I only have one...and it cost me about $60 and I'm not re-paintin' it. I only repaint Joe vehicles and extra Cobra vehicles.

    Got one to donate?
arch2b:
give the krylon burgundy satin a try. this is what i used for my crimson guard hiss, awe striker and lav. it's a touch darker tone. i suspect that if you did the same weathering on it, it might look more well used/aged.

KingOfVillains:
arch...I just love the Krylon Fusion paint. Dries so quickly and bonds to the plastic.
steve2477:
Cool, love the bullet holes down the side of the crimson vamp, love the other customs as well.
