hey all. just looking for some opinions on my first 25th custom... and Ice Viper. I have used, of course, the ARAH version as a guide, but have added a few bits of accent (as i feel the original was a bit too white) and made a few small alterations. this is not complete, and i plan to fix up the paint and maybe add a bit more to it color-wise. opinions would be appreciated. here was my formula:

Head - Beachhead (when i get some red paint - currently subbing in a PP officer head)
    Torso/arms - Arctic Snake eyes
    Legs - Cobra Trooper
Helmet - German soldier from Indiana Jones
    Webgear - Duke wave 7
xhairs:
    Very Cooooool
swafus:
I like it alot! The paint looks a little thin in some places and a little too dull on the finish. Did you use any sealer or protectant? Great work for your 1st though!
wish12oz:

no, i haven't used sealer or protectant. any recommendations on brands, etc? i still need to add another layer or two (of white especially), and touch up the brown, though. i think part of what makes it look a little rough at the moment is that i scraped off some of the not-entirely-dry paint when i put it back together to take photos. was in a hurry to get some ideas on whether i was maligning the original design or anything.

There is a brand that I picked up at Wal-Mart called Patricia Nimocks Clear Acrylic Sealer (matte). I've been using it for awhile and it works great! It gives it a very slight shine but it isn't too glossy. It protects the paint really well too. I think a 6oz can is around $4.
vadersquest:
That rocks man! Heck I should commission you to make me one.
apacolypse:
    Awesomeness!!!!

I just opened up that Indy fig...and was wondering what to do with the helmet...mystery solved!! Great job!!
daremo:
Oh, now that is cool (pun intended), especially since it's your first custom. Great execution on it.
hamilcar:
changed up the pictures in the first post to reflect something closer to the final product. just a few touch-ups, a cobra symbol and a glossy sealer and that should do it.

    Snow Job's in trouble now!
wild weasel:
    cool
Cannon Fodder:
Ice Viper was one of my favs as a kid. Great job.

Get out of my head. I've been thinking about, and started, that same figure, only I used the armored CC head for mine (swapped ACC's head with fred's). Not sure on what legs I'm going to use yet, though.
steve2477:
    Cool, looks great.
