Retaliation Eaglehawk vs Tomahawk - Side By Side Shots

Joecon-2013--02
Check out Retaliation Eaglehawk vs vintage Tomahawk side By side shots. This should clear up questions fans had at Toy Fair 2013. We had a chance to place them side by side for everybody to make up there own mind. It's an awesome update and the blades being able to fold up is a bonus.

Special thanks to John Warden for letting us take pics up-close.

Interesting pics!
Spectre:
i'd like to see some pics of the cockpit and what they did in the cabin.
zpartikuz:
never had one growin' up, so sign me up for one!
Stygian:
Looks to be pretty damn faithful to its 80's progenitor in all the right ways. And agreed, the 'swing blade' effect, which allows you sweep the rotor blades back in a clutch together, is an awesome feature. Oh... and lest I mention how incredibly awesome it is that the pilot has actual articulation? Yeah, that needed to be said.
Shin Densetsu:
I want to see this thing in my hands NOW
ero:
Sorry to ask the obvious, but IS it sized up? It seems bigger, but then the cockpit doesn't, so then I don't know if it's just the shiny newness distorting it.

meeeeeee too!
RogueWingnut:

From my phone. They were putting one together and labeling it while they talked. Look at the rotor build. No more problems with broken rotors baby!

Cockpit view.
Full controls + Sticks.

This intriqued me the most.
Saving money by making it modular.

It looks to be about the same size. Maybe wider? I thought it would be larger. Still looks nice. Just wish it was a new vehicle. I'll still buy 1-2 of 'em though.

It does look a little wider due to the angle of the pic. I think it is very slightly bigger but not by that much.

I did get a pic of the cockpit w/ pilot for size discrepancy.

I'm studying the hell out of my poor grainy shots.
Just loving it.
So friggin pumped.

Thats the thing brother Shin.
That aint Lift Ticket...I think...never asked for a name...too busy drooling.
darthdrew13:
Will the new seats (in the main hold) have the same "plug" that goes into the floor as the vintage ones? I want to know if I can use my vintage figs with this one easily.
nighthawk:
I believe they made the cockpit larger by moving the seats back and making a new console. That's why the back only has 4 seats instead of 5. Also, this is nitpicking, but with the seat moved back, the pilot won't have side visibility if it's as far back as I think it is.

Lastly, I loved the glass bottom of the cockpit of the old Tomahawk. I think this new one, the glass is covered by the floor or something cause I remember in the Toyfair pics, you couldn't see through the front bottom anymore.

Honestly....I dont know.
He never popped those out for me to see.
But the gun detaches from the gun stand..I saw that happen.
RogueWingnut:
Here's a cabin shot

And here's a side shot...you can see what appears to be a glass bottom of the front of the chopper.

Meh...I'm still using the Ghost Hawk version.
He'll be some co-pilot...I shall name him Wingy...
Cobra Terrorist:
That looks REALLY cool. Can't wait!

I shall buy every Eagle Hawk I see! Which will probably only end up only being TWO.....if I'm lucky.

The helmet looks like bf 2000īs Knockdown. Maybe a clue of a upcoming exclusive.
footloose:
would've been a better comparison if they used a complete tomahawk instead one missing half its parts
Jones boys:
The seats are molded. They needed to save money overall. But added huge details inside and out. Gun stand will actually take RB 50 cal!!! Added foot pegs, back pack mounts etc...including mounts for the one that came with the airborne/mouse three pack! Going to have a ton of play/display power!!!
cobraEdaco:
So friggin cool!!
fireflyguy:
Can't wait to get this!

I'm willing to pay $1000 for one.

I'm just kidding! I'll wait til retail.
MeLikeJinx:
Is that like the best vintage one they could find? They should have gotten a MIB vintage one and then compared them... that would have been more of a fair fight IMO.

But man... never had a Tomahawk before... totally want one. Hopefully I still care about 3.75" Joes by the time this thing actually hits retail. LOL.
JoeMama:
I absolutely cannot wait for this... may actually buy out a store's inventory for these...
07GT500 COBRA:
It's beautiful! *wipes tear of joy*
Davestro:
I can't wait...Lift-Ticket, Airborne, Lifeline, Beachhead, Low Light and Dial Tone are ready to be loaded up and taken on a mission.
captain N:
I can't wait to buy this. I just hope it's not a long wait till it come's out.

Thanks for taking those and sharing. I got there a little late.
46 Zone:
Hey Tony and Rogue,

What is behind the pilot seats in the cabin? Is there a molding in the floor of a back board? The toy fair pics looked like there was something behind the pilot seats next to the one seat thats there already.
Troops of Doom:
Looks great, faithful to the original.
Spectre:
Tony and Rogue, Thanks for the great pics!
PFunk:
Sign me up for two. Maybe even three.
Steel Brigade:
This thing really is a trip down memory lane, the Tomahawk was one of my all time faves (up there with the Terror Drome) & I am elated to get this remake!
Crazyjay:
This was the one Vehicle that I really wanted as a child but could not have.Im not sure why I never got it. I didnt get very much of the 86 product. Im down for 2 of these. Then at least 2 more when they hit the discount stores

8-1-13 It will ship before then. Target will most likely have it in transition until the fall resets hit. I need to call a friend and have him pull me the dcpi for this thing and find out what Target will retail it at. I'm thinking 44.99 with TRU selling it closer to 50. Fail Mart most likely won't carry it.
1FormidableJoe:
I'm in for two myself!
Darkfire:
Definitely getting 2 myself.
gofigure-26:
Wheel for the winch looks to be in the middle of the body; underneath troop area. Damn I hate action features
Otomo:
Damn, the Eaglehawk looks siiiiiiiiick!!! I want it!!

I only have two vintage Joe vehicles and the Tomahawk is one of them....complete except for the Lift-Ticket's mic. But all it does is collect dust in my parents' closet...haven't even seen the thing in years.

And now this new version looks even BETTER. And it's really cheap too. I'm going to have to reluctantly pass cause I live in Japan and there's no affordable way to get it here, and I don't have room for a large vehicle in my display. But seriously....every one of you in the States should be buying this thing....it's a STEAL at that price! It looks soooo cool!

Anyone wanna trade me the new one for the vintage one next time I'm home? ;)
sparhawk:
TRU and online only, no other outlets. According to the Joe Panel at the con.

Might be the real reason we have the Eaglehawk. Some Exec at Hasbro was trying to complete that one off of eBay parts, became frustrated and said, "Awww @$#* it! Green-light me a new one!!"

Totally how it happened I bet. LOL.
Viperscout 7:
lets hope he is trying to complete a whale next
ShadowNinja:
I held it today. It seems a bit more flimsy then the original like a cheaper plastic. The hasbro guy said it was the one that we would get not a prototype or anything. Less seats I think though although I never got a good look at the vintage one.
