Here's something that slipped through the cracks. We received a press release a few days ago from Mimoco about their GI Joe Mimobots and Transformers Mimobots! If you wanted GI Joe and Transformers styled USB sticks Mimoco has come to the rescue.
Mimoco and Hasbro Announce G.I. JOEX MIMOBOT® and TRANSFORMERS X MIMOBOT USB Flash Drive Collections at Comic-Con™ International
Featuring SNAKE EYES, COBRA COMMANDER, STORM SHADOW, BUMBLEBEE, and STARSCREAM in up to 64GBs of memory!
Mimoco (www.mimoco.com), creator of the MIMOBOT® line of designer USB flash drives and MIMOMICRO® card readers, under license from Hasbro, Inc., is introducing new G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS character-based MIMOBOT flash drives at Comic-Con International. These releases are Mimoco's second collection featuring Hasbro franchises in MIMOBOT® flash drive form and function. The collection includes retro designs of popular G.I. JOE characters in MIMOBOT's stylized appearance including SNAKE EYES, COBRA COMMANDER, and STORM SHADOW. The TRANSFORMERS line features retro BUMBLEBEE and STARSCREAM character designs.
Each G.I. JOE X MIMOBOT and TRANSFORMERS x MIMOBOT designer USB flash drive comes in a range of up to 64GB of memory capacity and comes preloaded with exciting bonus media. G.I. JOE includes amazing old school content like digital issues of the 1980's comic books, episodes of the original animated series, classic G.I. JOE PSA's, alongside bonus Mimory™ & mimoDesk™ suites of G.I. JOE screensavers, avatars, and wallpapers. TRANSFORMERS x MIMOBOT Series 2 also features Mimory™ & mimoDesk™ content and both series include mimoByte™ sound software that plays whenever a G.I. JOE or TRANSFORMERS X MIMOBOT is plugged into your computer!
"We've been working with Hasbro on this particular set of 80's re-imagination for some time and we hope others respond to its 'Rad Factor' as much as we do. The power of the 80s just can't be denied... this one amazing era produced so much that still thrives today...and right at the top of the list for us are G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS," says Mimoco's Director of Media & Licensing, Scott Seraydarian. "But in spite of all the reboots that have been coming out recently, we felt that the 80's classics still weren't getting the love they so richly deserve. Following Mimoco's core philosophy of "Refresh your Memory", we set out to change that. "Refreshing Your Memory" is the collision of what's known and what's new... something familiar, yet fresh. These traits are embodied perfectly in this series."

You know he's out to control the universe when you see the DECEPTICON logo emblazoned on his tail fins.
He might succeed in his quest for total domination of your data files, too, if it wasn't for BUMBLEBEE MIMOBOT. Bright yellow and sporting wheels that are ready to rrrroll-out!, BUMBLEBEE MIMOBOT is as loyal a sidekick as anyone could hope for, and loyalty is what you need when you're relying on a friend to store and transport all your important docs, pics and music!

Now it's time to start collecting USB sticks. LOL!
The Commander:
Bought one of each for work!
spot138:
Those are stoopid... I want the CC one.
Dake:
I admit, I don't understand these. I mean - they're sort of neat I guess but I can't imagine collecting a whole slew of 2GB thumb drives. I have the Starkiller one that came with the special edition "Force Unleashed" and I don't really know what to do with it.
They sort of remind me of Russian nesting dolls in their aesthetic which I think would be more interesting in a weird way.

I'm right there with you. I just don't understand the appeal to them at all. As a collectible they are pretty uninteresting. As a computer accessory, they are lousy because they are only 2GB and are expensive for that size.
turner:
I'd like a run down of which comics and episodes are available on them. And is the screen savers and sounds joe related or something else?
The Commander:
2GB? I bought 3 16-GB ones
turner:
Ouch, muchas dinero. I actually think they're cool.
neapolitan joe:
Cool items!
Steelgrave:
So this is what the world has come to?
Somebody give me a gun! I don't want to be in this world anymore.

Immortal_Joker:

I'm 50/50. I definitely don't feel the need to purchase the entire set, but one is pretty cool (if you need a thumb drive, that is).

TC is right, FF. That Cobra Commander one comes in 8gb. I'm right there with you though, FF, at first I stared at my screen like (O_o) when I saw the price b/c I too thought they were only 2gb.

On the website it's got them listed as 8, 16, 32 or 64gb. Plus they come with special stuff already loaded on them (such as PSAs). Still won't buy one because I've never owned a flash drive in my life, but they're still cool looking.
firefox91:
Ok, they must be phasing out the smaller drive sizes with the newer product. I assumed they were still 2GB because they still have other ones in that size.
Still, a little pricey and they just aren't appealing.
Tauron:
At first I thought these were silly, but then I remembered when my computer crashed and I had to re enter my ME collection list in Micro/word. I keep detailed lists of my Joes. I might pick one up to keep those files on incase my harddrive crashes again.
hotmitts:
ugh.
MJjoe4life:
I kinda like these. No i dont need 3 of them. But i def like the SE version the best of the 3.
evopete:
I saw these at the CON, and I am soo omad that I did not get one of them. I had no idea that they had had PSA, Digital, Comics, Screen Savers and actuall episodes. I too though it was just a 2 gb TD and though it was too much. Now I am kickingmy self for not getting it right at the con.
darthdrew13:
Are the prices on the Joe ones as bad as the Star Wars ones? If I recall correctly, they wanted $30 for a 4Gb Star Wars one a few months ago. I understand paying for licensing and design, but that was wayyy too much. You can get an 8Gb stick online (free shipping) for $6-$7 these days. I wouldn't go any higher than $15-$20.
