The Commander:
Just got an email from the club saying a second run was now available for pre-order.
Troynos:
Cool.
cobraEdaco:
Just got it as well. Wow - i didn't think they would do it.
RolandofGilead:
Great news for everyone who missed out!

I've already had my fill.
Arbrias:
Hopefully there are still enough people out there wanting these for it to actually be worth their while.
Tall Creeper:
I am both glad and surprised they are doing it! I will be buying a couple as I missed out on the first go around!
sbartek1974:
Too close to Christmas for me to fork over all that dough. PASS. :(
dgnr82:
this is going to piss some people off......just sayin'

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize can't really swing it this close to XMas.

After Christmas would have been better timing by the Club.

I'm absolutely fine with there being Convention exclusives and that I may or may not miss out on them. I'm fine with that.

I'm also fine with them releasing the figures in a second run. Just wish there was a way to make them different enough so that the Con set is still special and exclusive.

Black Swan:
Gonna have jump on this instead of another Castle Grayskull.

OG sets for me and buddy is going to great Chirtmas present hope there still enough members that want one still.
cobracobra:
F-u-c-k y-e-s. I so almost picked this set up for 600-700 from a bunch of a people here on the tank and on ebay. Glad to see a more reasonable price tag.

I hope there will be a way for all those who attended the convention to tell there figures off from the new batch. I wouldn't mind a slightly off color scheme. Just to keep up the value for those who did attend.
Night_Force_GI_EDDO:
Personally I think it's great...the club will get the money that fans would otherwise have to dish out on eBay for the same product.
Xerofall:
Whoops, I just posted this in the news section, mods feel free to merge.
tycondrius:
damn I would love to get this set but I already committed to get it of a fellow tanker and have it nearly paid off Damn.
cobraEdaco:
I wonder if they will do a pre-order system on the 2013 Convention set? Seems like the next logical step.
AlecZeal1989:
I spent 450 on my bagged set.

Am I pissed? No. Nobody else who bought it off ebay should be pissed either, since the club was asking people if they would want a second run months ago. We knew there might be a second run and bought second hand anyways.
wrw311:
Anyone know if my card will be charged now or Spring 2013. Cause if it waits until spring im jumping on this now. Please advise code red!!

It might be worth your while to wait and call the Club tomorrow. You're not going to miss out if you get your order in before Nov 30.

My thoughts exactly.
coreystinson:
I guess this means the set that those of us bought the first time around, advertised as a limited edition collectible, really isn't now. It's pretty dishonest of the club of do this in my opinion, and it really makes believing anything they say rather impossible. I guess we'll now see how this impacts their sales of the 2013 con set...

Yep, and I'm one of them. Congrats to the club. They've just managed to set a really bad precedent.

yup.....couldn't agree more...
Xerofall:
At $360 a pop, they're still going to be exclusive and limited.
atomatron:
hope they choke on these
ergozoom:
Seems to me the club should have charged extra $50 or so to discourage waiting when they are first released and encourage attending the con.
Superjoe74:
I like the idea of a second run or a preorder for any item- it allows everybody to have a chance to own it without being gouged by resellers.

As a collector, I want everyone to be able to share in the fun of the hobby- and part of the fun is the social aspect.
I do not believe in being a 'toy elitist' or a 'toy snob'.

Good looking out for the collectors GI Joe Collector Club!
TENIME_art:
1. I hope they won't charge until Spring. Otherwise, I probably will miss out again.

2. Does anyone want the Oktober Guard & Voltar? I just want the IGs. That would make it way more possible to buy now if I could go semi-halfsies with someone else.

I am glad for the 2nd chance at the figures but i think the club should have slightly altered the colors or something and i think that might appease some people.
dorian247:
kind of like what hasbro does with some of the sdcc marvel exclusives.
Jim_Beutel:
If they do SOMETHING to separate the second run from the con sets, I'm OK with this. If not, they are destroying exactly what makes the con sets special - their exclusivity.

Con sets are just that - con sets. If you don't go, then you have two options, pay what someone else wants to sell theirs for, or do without. That's exactly what makes them special. If you make them a pre-order for everyone, or do second runs after the face that a exactly the same, then they're not con sets anymore. They're just club sets.

Some may think that this is a selfish attitude, but I look at it this way - if I can't make it to con, the. I have to live without, or pay an inflated price too. And that's the way it should be.

hasbro always sells exclusives after SDCC as well and I dont see people complain (now that the system was better this year at least)

I guess i can see both sides of the issue actually.
Jim_Beutel:
I don't necessarily agree with Hasbro doing that with SDCC exclusives either, to be perfectly honest.
Dangerjoe:
wish they waited til January, I would had gotten one, can't afford it with Christmas coming

Well, just to play devil's advocate, there was never any guarantee it was going to happen, and a few of those figures (Daina, Horrorshow) were getting scarce. If someone really wanted them, they would've definitely been risking missing out on them completely by waiting to see if the club was going to do it.
JoeMama:
neat. wish they would charge when they ship though. the club already has a decent chunk of my money for 'pre-orders', and my confidence with them is very low.
Feel safer investing in Enron.

Hasbro pretty much just sells the excess stock after Comic Con. I mean, the Hiss sold out after something like two minutes this year. Also, I'm not really sure you can say the people didn't complain this year ;)

As far as reissuing the sets goes, I'm happy that people that wanted them can now get them, but at the same time I do think it it's kind of a bad precedent to set, and I can understand why people that went to the show would be disappointed.
Money-B:
A better way might have been just to issue more bagged sets.
Vegas:
I already pissed away $ for the 3 figs I wanted in the secondary market.

$45 Brekhov
$45 Horrorshow
can't remember, but too much $70? for diana
so about $160

So I'm gonna have to pass. If I had just waited I could a had em all for an addition 200$.

Oh well, I am happy with my 3.

The way I see it, this is the "gi joe COLLECTOR'S club," not the "ONLY SUPER RICH SCALPER'S club featuring gijoe." The club is designed to be a source of GI joe products for collectors, not a source for scalpers to price gouge true collectors. If the club sees an opportunity to better serve the fans who missed out by doing a second run, then I say go for it. I hardly think this will be an all the time thing anyway.
WildWeaselZ06:
I see this as a bad thing. Hey, I never got the reissue Crimson Strike team, therefore they need to reproduce it for my benefit. Also, the Mission Brazil set sold out before I got my fill. Hey, they didn't make enough PP Stingers and Mocassins. They need to ramp up production on those. See, this could turn into a disaster. Also, we won't even talk about how the club had a right to limit the quantities of the IG/OG set. Never mind the guy that posted his 26 sets the first day of the con, and that was not including the same number of bagged set.

This has nothing to do with the club serving collectors. This is all about their cash grab this year. The club mismanaged just about everything last year and it cost them, they are trying to make up their cash. I'm not sure, but it also feels as though they are trying to make a profit off of us for the negligence. They apologized at the con, but it still feels as though they never accepted responsibility for their short-comings.
Night_Force_GI_EDDO:
Everything the club does is partly due to their "cash grab," as you put it. They are in the business of selling toys, and that's what they are trying to do.

Would you really prefer we got no collector based figures at all? Without the club's cash grab, we lose out on getting stuff geared towards people who don't need spring loaded accessories.
I'm not fond of the way things went down this past year with the club either, but that doesn't mean others should miss out on getting this second run opportunity.

True. I did buy them simply because there wasn't a guarantee that it would happen, even though I had a good feeling it would because of the positive reaction I saw that it was getting.

And after thinking about it for a few more hours, I can see how someone who bought them when they first came out would be pissed. They were supposed to be limited...

But I'm still not pissed. I'm the sort of guy that feels that anyone who wants them should be able to get them
