i guess it old news then gunslingercbr: easily the coolest idea the club has ever had. RATFINK: What i wanna know so do you have to buy all 4? Blade: i would LOVE to own all the adventure team sets..hopefulyl someone willpick up some extras... Gijoekid@hotmail.com: They look pretty cool. Looks like the doctor sports a lui Kang head from the old mortal kombat line. SPC Airborne: What are the prices on them? RATFINK: not sure if anyone knows yet Buzzetta: The more I look at them I am considering purchasing the Adventure Team member with the footlocker and land vehicle. However...
I do not know if I want them for novelty purposes. I cannot think of any other reason that they would suit my collecting needs. butter_the_pure: Good God! Big Lob looks like Grace Jones! Easy pass. fogger1138: Quote:
Originally Posted by i<3COBRALA What i wanna know so do you have to buy all 4? | Not according to the info they've posted so far. ChaplainAsst: Did Venom's lab coat change in this latest picture? I thought it was a short coat before, now it looks like a long lab coat. turner: The concept here is fantastic and I've been waiting for a dr. venom. BUT I am so disappointed with dr. venom in particular and the whole shibang as well. The dr. rex coat isn't even accurate, venom had a double breasted style lab coat that was straight on the bottom not pointed in the front. These really suck, which is reallly a bummer. turner: Quote:

And both versions suck. The shorter one is, well, too short! tycondrius: wow these are awsome anyone wonder if they'll dip into action mans line for chars like a 3 3/4" Dr X and professor gangreen FlyingFigg: I think I'd rather hunt down the parts and make a custom venom than try to get my hands on this set (cheaper and easier). snakeeyes22: And thats how you reuse molds.
The heads are impressive, very 70s accurate Joes and Dr. venom looks quite a bit like the comic. facehammer: I have a feeling that these are going to be more popular than expected. B.A.T.tyBelfry: Do these gijoe club exclusives ever make it to online stores or retail chains of any type(targets or tjmaxx types), or are they always just convention and and gijoe club? I was thinking may be I would join gijoe club but then they were selling individual 3.75s for $20 to officer level members and it just did not seem like there was any point other than the prestige and maybe supporting the cause. green_shirt: Man the folks at Hasbro are just evil. As soon as I think I'm done with Joe and can save some money they put out something like this. That's just cruel. I'm gonna go broke with stuff like this.
Why don't they just run two lines? I know I've heard it all before. But really there is enough demand for a small vintage line. They could make it an online DTC or specialty store line. Either way I just wanna see more stuff like this, but at a lower cost. Shogi: Quote:

No, these are only made and sold by the club. The individual figures you were seeing for $20 were probably club exclusive figures which are made in drastically lower numbers than any retail figure thus the high price. The regular retail figures the club sell usually go for retail price or lower depending on sales (Currently, I believe you can get 25th comic packs for $5 each) Quote:

Blame Master Collector, not Hasbro Hasbro had nothing to do with these club exclusive figures other than approving them. green_shirt: Quote:

These things are just wonderful. I wish Hasbro would start making some stuff like this. Don't get me wrong a bunch of the POC stuff is very nice but this stuff is just fun. G.I.Spawn: I didn't know how I was going to like these, but the more I see them, the more I want them SOONER B.A.T.tyBelfry: [deleted post, wrong thread] B.A.T.tyBelfry: Quote:

we need to enroll every one we can to buy only classic type joes and i guess i have a reason to join gijoeclub after all? coreystinson: Yeah, I like these. This is turning out to be an interesting assortment of figures. Strange, but interesting. It will be mostly a novelty for 3 3/4" collectors, but this should also interest the older GI JOE collectors who had adventure team and have probably also dabbled at one point or another in 3 3/4" (for their kids or otherwise). A good marketing idea by the club that, so far, appears executed fairly well. I'm certainly liking what I see here much better than what was shown at the convention last year. ChaplainAsst: I don't mind the long lab coat, but I hope they figure out the tie before this is put into production. It appears either way too short or Venom is wearing a suit vest, which we be pretty odd. green_shirt: Quote:

Lody: What happened to the Sub? B.A.T.tyBelfry: About hasbro being evil and releasing more good things just when you think you are done, and them needing two seperate lines, well could we have any luck with a petition? a short concept rough draft would be some thing like:
Hasbro, your true loyal joe fans are willing to compromise! ok ok so a focus group of kids say they want a ridiculous rocket launcher in EVERY RoC action figure? Well lets have the best of both worlds! Why did you stop making detailed bios on the command files they are now CRAP they are generic and say all most nothing they have no character why can't you promote intelligence and literacy as WELL as providing stupid rocket launchers in every kids meal? why can't you stick to more traditional military garb and more realistic situations why cant you release more awesome(!!!) multirole vehicles like the Mean Dog or the vector and future fortress! kids will still love it! so much of the RoC line blows the best part of the line are prob the ones that was going to be released in the 25th originally like deep six and kamakura!
dont mistake me im not a prude but in all honesty at least what 80% of RoC is among the worst 3.75 joe stuff hasbro has ever released? I do like a lot of it too though
serious about the petition where do i sign who is the writer among us? green_shirt: good point that sub was really cool. joecom: These are Awesome. I really want them FireBat: My classic GI Joe knowledge is limited to knowing that adventure team was created for a war-weary public. Can anyone explain the fly trap? Was this featured in one of the classic comics? Wizgillar: 25th...bleh. I will pass; especially for the outrageous prices they will go for. spiderpumpkin: These are going to be expensive. I'm guessing $60 a set with paid membership. shlappyguy: I didn't realize that these were going to be 25th. I'd really love a Venom and a Joe Colton, but I have trouble justifying the club prices. KingStalin: I can not wait to order Dr. Venom. That set looks amazing! JoeMama: ok, these are pretty awesome.
mega points for creativity.
interesting reuse of the VvV / spytroops Battle Blitz for the Adventure team car.. Never thought I'd see that remolded again.
Wonder if the little dude-man racer that shot out of the bottom will be empty so you can put in that weapons crate?
That would be pretty cool. COBRACOLLECTOR: I want that Dr Venom bad they did a great job on him alcoholic ewok: So are we getting the battle luge guy with the 6-wheel vehicle? TEAM Z: DR. Venom is nice, but the others look like crops brand. arashikage tat: I wonder if these are also going to have the Kung Fu grip? RolandofGilead: Any word on a price for these? I'm guessing a club esclusive figure with vehicle set won't come cheap. CrimsonGuard101: Not overly impressed with this stuff they are all the same joe figures with differnt painted heads/bodies really? if they are doing 25th why couldnt they do a set of the red shadows? That would have been waaay cooler then this Johny Quest stuff. Dr. Venom is a cool reproducable deisgn though so no need to buy him. Not going to spend a mint on this stuff though they can forget that. Adventure team sounds like some kind of knock off of Venture Bros. LOL | All times are GMT -4.
