IDW Publishing Solicitations for August, 2013 - Comic Book Resources

What's cool this month?

Well, Heartwrencher (An obsecure Dreadnok from the DDP days) is featured on the Special Missions cover?

Baroness and Destro return as Cobra Commander sets his sights on Manhatten and Clockspring's descent into evil continues. Meanwhile Hama seems to be preparing for a major event in his title as we are only 8 issues away from #200!

Also, the first 5 or 6 issues of Van Lente's Gijoe are being collected into tpb form.
Troynos:
The next arc of Special Missions, after the undersea one, features Zartan and the Dreadnoks.

I know, but the fact that an obscure DDP character is appearing is very interesting.
Troynos:
IDW seems to really like using obscure characters when they can.
Bryon:
193 looks good. That is a great cover!

The Joes see that Grunt is being held hostage, and they all rush out of the Canteen to rescue him! I want a poster of that cover!
ndb:
W00t! America's elite is being reprinted! I'll take a copy!
Fox:
Destro now has a metal chest too? Isn't the cover with him and the Baroness a sexual position? They're dressed but that's a porn cover.
Zarana:
Step 1: get heart wrencher on the cover of a Joe comic

Step2: use this cover to convince hasbro to make a figure

Step 3: army build.

And it might work too if they made a better cover...
Smitty2733:
We missed ya, baby!!

ucsf:
Mad Monk is coming to town. I'm getting more and more into the new series, and with the dreadnoks, I should check all of these comics.
KingStalin:
I'm down to just ARAH now. I dropped the IDW universe books after the last relaunch. The books were good but at 3.99 it's a bit much to get 3 books a month for stories that I personally just weren't digging that much anymore.

Nice catch - I didn't even notice that. I love that Larry is giving the original 13 so much "screen time" in ARAH. Best Joe book in years.

I hear that. I had purchased every single Joe book that IDW had printed, yet just recently dropped all but ARAH and Van Lente's series. I wasn't enjoying the others at all. I honestly didn't really like much of anything IDW did with G.I. Joe - I was just buying everything out of brand loyalty.
Highway:
These are some of the weirdest covers i've ever seen! I do like Hama's, with the unseen team rushing to save Grunt.
I'll stick the the main title. I neer understood what IDW was doing with all those different lines anyway.
SKULL BUSTER:
I'm the most excited by the G.I. Joe: Cobra Files solicits. That's the best "Joe" series out right now IMO.
Xavieur:
I have to say, I gave up on IDW when they took title from Devils Due, but came back now and then for great cover art... considering that the number of sub-titles/series they had for GIJOE were just too much.

The funniest Retailer Incentive covers I've seen for Cobra Files and Special Missions have be interested again.
