Looks good!
Nemesis*Prime says
Now this is what I'm talking about. This is how a G.I. Joe comic should be. Can't wait for this series to start.
Troynos says
Cool. Looks very interesting.
THE RED SHADOWS says
art is great, but the crismon guard doesnt look anything like a crismon guard
ill be on the fence with this, if it contradicts what DDP did ill pass on this series, if it can be IN ANY WAY made to fit then Ill read it
Loose Cannon says
Wow this looks good. I'm not sure where it picked up from since the last 2 years of the Marvel Run were so lousy. Still I've always wondered how the commander slept.

Which is fine with me.
Remember, DDP started 7 years after the end of #155.
So it's possible depending on how long this "relaunch" goes, that it could still fit in pre-DDP.
At least it's classic Zartan and not how he looked at the end of the run. Orange mohawk and all that, thank god that's gone.
Tom-1 says
This does NOT look good.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the spirit of this series is to continue as if the Marvel series was still going on?
Why does the Crimson Guard look like a HISS Driver?
Where did this Broken Star come from? I know, it's just a plot device, but the 'great' Larry Hama can't spend more than a sentence in a word balloon setting up which will no doubt be the basis for a brand new GI Joe arc?
It's so fanfic-y! "The Decepticons were gone and the Autobots lived in peace. But then the Destructicons showed up! They looked alot like the Decepticons, but they wore special Destruction Suits that disguised their true appearance" ...guh.
So Cobra Commander sleeps with a T'Jbang mask in Cobra colors?
And the ultimate 'stupid' thing... the Jugglers are actually preparing to allow Cobra to operate as an official peace-keeping force in the U.S.? So, if things go really poorly with the Tea party and they start waving flags over landmarks, will we invite Al Quaeda to police us?
I know the Jugglers are crappy, selfish people, but they're still senior military people and this just seems like a STUPID thing to do. They'd have some way (official or unofficial) to figure out Cobra was behind their puppet attacks.
G.I.Eddie says
i never read the Marvel run...in fact i never read any comics...but since the classic Joe trades came out, i've been reading every one...just got volume 7 yesterday...the problem is, at the rate they release volumes, it'll be another year at least till i get to the end of the Marvel run, 155...
so, to the guys who did read the original run, does this story seem to fit in and pick up right where 155 left off?
artiepants says
yeah, it was a little ham-fisted IMHO. CC sleeping in a mask and having a direct line to the jugglers was just a bit too much.
Where was Cobra HQ'd at the end of the Marvel series? was Cobra Island still fully functional?
