Newsarama has a new podcast up which reveals that comic writer Chuck Dixon will be writing the prequel comics by IDW for the G.I. Joe movie. Check out their podcast here!

    i ddin't actually listen to the podcast, but saw the relevant info in the breakdown.

    I've long thought Chuck'd be a good person to take on Joe if allowed to work it long-form (i think he took over Reloaded late in the game, right, but too little, too late for that). He's great at the gritty and the military type stuff.

    Just hope it's better the the abysmal (story not art) Transformer movie prequel...

    I'll probably not buy these but Dixon is a great writer.

    It will be a wait and see before I decide if I'll buy these. Chuck Dixon is a great writer though and I'm pretty sure he did take over Reloaded at the end.

    Dixon's good if allowed to run a his own pace. I liked his work on Nightwing at DC and some other stuff he's done.

    I don't know what they can show us in those comic prequels, the movie is going to be the beginning of the franchise, I only think they can talk about the baroness and duke's engagement. Anything else will be shown in the movie.

    well, they could do character-specific prequels showing training/pre-Joe missions for some of the characters that get less screentime

    ...such as how Ripcord subjected himself black-face for an undercover mission, but it went permanently awry. HAHA!

    Yes! I dont care for the movie - but ever since his late Reloaded work.... Chucks a talent I always wanted on Gi Joe!!

    I'm really looking forward to Ellis on the cartoon though.
