But come on already Hasbro.
The viper commando was the cool one though. We've got him in green as the nano viper and coming soon, more pointless repaints. Nekoman: Quote:

But speaking of vipers. I love the Viper commando and there isn't any at our local walmarts. Beckley: Quote:

The headgear, the purple/lavender pastel, I don't care what they do with him, as long as they don't use any Turtle Viper parts. Scoop: I love how the Mods on other sites are really getting pissed at Habro with their "beat-around-the-bush" sort of answers.
On one site a Mod said that they might as well just stop doing these Q & A's altogether because Hasbro's answers are basically useless.
Then on another site someone said that they might as well call it Q & WTF Hasbro.
I also like how they get our hopes up with the Saw Viper and Crazylegs comment. We all got our hopes up with Footloose and look how that turned out. CrimsonGuard101: Ya know...SAW Viper and Crazylegs will end being ComiCon Exclusives next year I can smell it if they make them at all and it's not just fluff answers lol ...they can't even give us a proper James McCullen in his striped buisness suit as a single card like the 2pack Con figure this year. He was one of the main characters in the movie and does not even make it to the mainstream product line...so high dollar bone tosses make them more money in the end unfortunatley and with what they did with the 5 pack yuuuck they can keep em... I'm very excited at crazy Legs & Saw Viper coming out, as my brothers & I use to use those guys heavily back in our playing days!! "(Roadblock, Scarlett, Destro and Baroness among others...), and have some newly tooled figures based on the Resolute series."
This answer is AWESOME!! finally some confirm on what to expect. We guessed as much but it's still nice to hear. "Helix will make an appearance in the line in 2010"
<---- This has me excited, as she is a new personal favorite of mine.
"I'm sure we'll have some new female characters"
Also exciting news.
Thanks for the tidbits everyone! Zoltron: Quote:

Hasbro: No, they will be released in early 2010. | I knew they weren't cancelled their is no way Hasbro was going to scrap all those vehicles and figures. Plus the only site/retailer to announce it was the Club, if other retailers would have announced they were cancelled I might have believed it.
My order for a case of wave 3 is still confirmed with Diamond. DaViper: I'm really over Hasbro bringing back any more of the ARAH characters now. They are either not going to make them or design them right in my eyes, so I just don't care anymore. The only thing I look forward to now is Resolute and PoC. I think people should do the same. They're new and we have nothing to compare them with so we can't complain about how they're not doing it right or screwing up majorly. Wishful thinking I know lol Zoltron: Quote:

Hasbro: No, they will be released in early 2010. | I actually am happy with my single Volcano Viper. He's a single Cobra rebel in my joeverse.
I hope they redeco it or something later down the line. Hopefully Single carded in wave 3 of next year. atomicpower: It's nice to see that hasbro's answers are about as lackluster as my interest in their product. We may be done, hasbro. We may be done. dawingster: Quote:

what did we learn from them other than there will be a new SAW viper and Crazylegs? for all I know Saw viper will share all the parts of those horrid neo vipers and Crazy legs could be a female figure based on some former marathon runner turned joe....
the line just seems boring despite some gnarly looking figures. The good and decent figures are HARD as F#$K to get and the rest are clogging the pegs at this right second. What does Hasbro say about that? "we can't comment on retailers' way of stocking their figures"
I just think it's worthless to ask Hasbro these questions, it just sounds like you are talking to a friggin' robot with the kind of answers they give you! Snow_Serpent: I do have to give Justin from Generals Joes a ton of credit for his quote below. Quote: |
I’ve defended Hasbro pretty heavily on their Q & A process in the past, but this is getting a little silly. I tried to ask a relatively in depth question in attempts to get some insight into their decision making, yet it was still returned with the typical marketing speak.

I can see it now... TWILIGHT Vipers, Space TREK Crimson Vipers, CYRUS Baroness and MONTANA Ana DeCobra. It's the perfect plan. We may even get an NFL deal for the return of GI Joe Capt. Grid Iron and an MU figure for Superpro!

Jmacq1: Geesh, I'd normally say something about silly complaints concerning the Q&As, but this round really was kind of lousy except for Crazylegs and SAW Viper and confirming that Pursuit of Cobra is still on (though it sounds like it might be getting postponed until later next year...not too surprising since Hasbro's only big movie "push" for next year - Iron Man 2 - comes out in March).
I'm beginning to think Hasbro has some kind of quota for actual information during Q&A sessions: "OK, this month we'll let 'em know about Crazylegs and SAW Viper."
So one site gets the one answer that has any substantial information, and everyone else gets marketspeak, no matter how carefully they phrase their questions. This go-round half the answers weren't even suited to the questions.
Still, at least they're sounding more positive about the line than the Indiana Jones folks were at this time last year, that's for sure. hantei40: No Tomax and Xamot Combat heroes. I'm officially bummed. samantha: Quote:

I am glad that Hasbro doesn't seem to be following that dismal end of the line mumbo with GI Joe. It is nice to see them very upbeat. Jediorc: What useless answers... Originally Posted by Jediorc What useless answers... And we want it all RIGHT NOW! For free!
Sometimes (not all the time, but sometimes) we ask Hasbro questions they can't really answer, because sometimes when they say "there are no plans" there really aren't any plans, and because once again, they run into problems when they announce products that then end up not hitting shelves.
Is Hasbro a too uptight up when it comes to their answers? You bet. But let's not fool ourselves into thinking we're EVER going to "get what we want to hear" because, as a whole, what the collector community wants to hear varies wildly from collector to collector. KALASH69: "We are finally releasing some of the characters that collectors have been clamoring for (Roadblock, Scarlett, Destro and Baroness among others...), and have some newly tooled figures based on the Resolute series that are sure to please... stay tuned!!!"
HELL YES!
I just hope this includes Resolute SS. |
