89PILOT:
Not impressed with this final 4 at all!!!
sewnback2gether:
Metal head/pathfinder all day!!!
skinny:
this is what happens when you don't vote!
300-320 people out of how many thousand people visit this site in a day?

Metal Head for the win.
Scotty97:
I can't believe these are the final four choices. If this is really the four we've come down to, I'd be saving money in the long run. The only one I'd give 2 sh!ts about owning is SAW Viper.

^ THIS all day...
rdblock:
Saw Viper over Frag Viper....is this poll rigged???
MaulEyes:
This Final Four is Horrible compared to the over-all list. The first round matchups caused most of my favorites to lose out and I didn't care after that. Why you have ARAH figures matched up against each other, Oktober Guard matched together and Comic Book stuff likewise? Makes people who only like one particular category give up early. Out of all the figs listed I want Bullhorn(great accessory possibilities including a marauder type piece-together gun in briefcase-better than Low-Light's), and he lost in the first round. Why Cross-Country is still around is beyond me(probably cause he is one of the last 82-86 figs to be made)
G.I. Smurf:
I know right? How did any of these make it but Cross Country!?!

We all have our favorites, and we're all going to be upset that it isn't the ones we thought should make it. This just shows who really cares enough to vote for their characters. I like both Raptor and Cross Country, but never thought anyone else liked them. Surely never thought that would both be in the final 8, much less one making it to the final 4.
rfarrell22:
Yeah. These suck!! Hopefully Hasbro is NOT watching this for ideas!!
Troops of Doom:
Cobra La defeated by Cross Country. Haha!
DESTRO:
Looks like people are voting outside the vocal minority box. Gotta love a public fair fight. I think all 4 of these characters are awesome, a little unexpected, but that's what got voted on. I welcome any new figures that made it into this poll. At the end of the day it's just for fun, even if your favorite character got voted off the island.
BigErn:
Hopefully Saw Viper can take Cross Country but the way he's been performing I doubt it. Still pissed about Pythona but oh well I had fun. Looking forward to the vehicle tournament this summer.
ndb:
Ugh, this stinks.
Malcolm:
WTF? we need a redraw something went seriously wrong here.
ero:
Thought this might have been your year, Pythona.

Go Cross Country!

I think that this just means cover girl gets a second term.

Pretty much how I felt.

Exactly. I don't think this is anything to get mad about. It's been great fun. I already can't wait until next year lol. Maybe we should do one for elements. Like snow, desert and water. I guess I did have too much fun lol.
Tman:
Wow. I am out of touch with the rest of Joe-dom. I swear, practically all my picks were first or second round losers. I suddenly feel alone... so alone...
rdodger:
Oktober Guard got cheated. At least Raptor didn't advance. I think SAW or Metal-head will win this thing. And what about Pythona? I guess it's true that Joe fans don't like female figures. I better change that to they dont like female action figures.

I love female figures. I hate cobra la figures. The only way I would have voted for Pythona was if she was up against another Cobra La figure.
wormser:
everyone is complaining about the final four. did you forget that you chose it? the reason i hate the final four is cause they are figure i voted AGAINST. you should have chose raptor like i have been saying the whole time.
Dem_Yoe'z!:
Cross Country is the only one out of my top 4 to advance this far (the others were Billy, Headman, and Interrogator)
Raw Dog:
I hope Metal Head wins, I think he is awesome, but I would be fine with any of the final four. I like them all!

To be honest, I have tepid interest in Pathfinder and Cross-country, and not much on the others remaining. I was bucking for Bombstrike or Munitia, with a traditional pillow-fight determining the winner.
Kaboomskie:
Pardon my harshness mods, but what the #### were these people thinking?!

A nameless S.A.W Viper over Pathfinder?

Goddamn army builders.

Well, armybuilders may be shooting themselves in the foot then. If Hasbro takes note of this and produces a figure, it will likely be some convention thingy. Good luck trying to build an army of that at $75 a pop!
DESTRO:
I think we are going to see a lot of these figures really soon.
eddy-arashikage:
Its all fair and above board what went wrong is the fact that the match ups... we ended up having to vote one of our favs against another and in some senses of the word we had 2 that we would never have voted on so we had to pick one.....

I think just a list of names and each one all gets one shot instead of this tournament style would be an acurate way of judging who we all really voted for.

would be interesting if we could have a tally of all the votes they acumulated to see how that fairs against the results!

That's how my whole first round was. I had hardly any "I really want A more than B" picks. They were all picking between two I really really wanted or picking between two I didn't care about.
DESTRO:
I love how you guys assume things went wrong because the characters you wanted are not in the final 4, when the people who voted on these are the majority. In the end they are all going to loose, all but 1 figure. Relax and have fun.

Exactly. Everyone is going to have some figure they love not make it. What about last year when Cross Country didn't make it. No one complained this much. Simple face is it's what the majority want, not the few. Depends on which side you are on. Saw Viper is going to win it all, and I hate him. But I won complain and say Cross Country really should have won because more people like Saw Viper then CC.

I think so too. I think SAW Viper is so in demand that he is only a matter of time. I think Cross Country is in Retaliation under the code name: Cross. I think a Metal Head with a spring loaded missile firing back pack easily fits into the Retaliation line, and I think that Pathfinder can be easily put together with preexisting pieces so his inclusion in the final four should single to Hasbro that a figure of him might as well be produced.

knowing very little about the March Madness other than it annually interrupts my regular tv watching habits, I had to look up how teams are seeded,

the field of teams is divided into four geographical regions. Each region has between 16 and 18 teams, which are assigned a seed number of 1 through 18, with the best team in the region awarded the No. 1 seed. In 2012, the format was modified so the four first-round matchups advanced two 16 seeds, a 14 and a 12 into the field of 64.

after reading up on it I can see the logic behind the bracketing Destro used.

Yes that is how the NCAA brackets worked BUT that is exactly the OPPOSITE how this bracket was built. No offense to Destro but you would never see first round match-ups from the same group/genre(conference). I don't mind this for the fun aspect, it just needs to be started better. Two '87 figures, Oktober Guard, etc matched up in the first round is my only complaint. I don't care who makes it and who doesn't, that's how you figure out who is the overall favorite or who is more supported. Having matchups like the first round makes some people go BLAH over some of the pics. If the final four ended up being all Oktober Guard(or another genre) awesome. Then maybe we might see them get made. But when half of each group automatically get voted out because of the matchups (mainly ARAH-the most popular genre) then it makes the list falible.
In the end though, it is for fun.

Everyone should just pick one Joe and one Cobra, let the mods tally the votes and call it a day.

the popularity of the October guard is pretty apparent they pretty much were the top ten seeded in their bracket. The votes that knocked them out were very close calls. If more people had voted instead of just viewed things may have been different.

considering only 300 or so voted each round they had the majority in most rounds until they ran up against each other and split the vote

that just means a lot of people want them but apparently they arent as popular as other figures otherwise they would have made it to the final 4. you cant argue with results.

Looks like Metal Head is making a comeback.

actually I can, IMHO the votes were so close towards the end that people voted for the underdog, the figure they felt had the lesser chance of making the cut, the final results were within a few percentage points. if a few more people had voted it would have made a big difference, which is why it irks me that so few people voted, not the results, but the voter turnout.
MaulEyes:
Cross Country v Metal Head is going down to the wire! Some are going to vote for CC so he can win Others are going to vote for MH in hopes of a comeback win. So who will it be?

Saw Viper is doing to Pathfinder what they did at the Battle of Benzeen.
bluesparrow:
I don't really want any of the final four. *MAYBE* Cross Country.

But then again my most-wanted was W.O.R.M.S. so I likely don't fall into a large constituency anyway.

Yes, the NCAA tournament is divided into 4 geographical regions based on where the games in the tournament will be played not on where in the country the team is from. For example, this year, the top seeded team in the West bracket was Michigan State. And of the 16 teams in that region only 4 teams played their home games west of the Rockies with 5 teams in that bracket playing their home games in one of the original 13 states.

The brackets in the NCAA are determined by a commitee who seeds the teams based on the teams percieved strength based on their record and their record against other tournament teams as well as their rankings in the polls as voted by the sportswriters of America.

So yeah, the way the characters were seeded in this tournament did not follow the way the NCAA does their tournament.

If I were to have seeded this tournament, I would have taken the top 64 vote getters in the nominating thread and seeded them in order from most votes to least by assigning them seeds in the following fashion. 1 East, 1 West, 1 North, 1 South, 2 East, 2 West, 2 North, 2 South, etc... until I had all my characters seeded. You would then have characters from each of the sub groups or genres in all the brackets instead of facing each other immediatly and elimination one another before getting out of the 2nd round.
MJjoe4life:
Definitely not the Final Four i was expecting. Oh well.
