In 1988, Hasbro introduced a vehicle that to this day, is still one of the most unique in the Cobra Arsenal – The Cobra BUGG. Created by Hasbro Designer Dave Kunitz, the BUGG was originally intended to be released as just the front Sub Pod. Marketing loved it and asked Dave to make the whole thing larger.
The BUGG served as Cobra’s Coastal Defender, able to bring the battle to the G.I.Joe Team on the Land or in the Sea. The vehicle offered quite a few play points – from the removable Sub Pod to the Jet skis that were stored away in side panels to the overall amount of figures that this beast of a vehicle could carry. Oh, did I mention the uber-awesome driver, Secto-Viper?

I never had this as a kid or knew of its existence. This is fantastic. It doesn't get any cooler then the detachable sub and jet ski!

The Bugg came out long after my toy buying days were done as a kid, but I've been curious about this one since getting back into the Modern Era.
I love that you use the new figures in your reviews. I now know that this not only works well with them, but could be a must have.

I can never believe it when some people claim this is one of the worst Joe vehicles out there. It's one of the gems of the entire ARAH run. Well-designed, lots of features, and one of the few instances where neon makes sense.
The only weirdness is that a couple years later they gave us virtually the same vehicle in a slightly beefier form with the Hammerhead....which is also a pretty cool vehicle.

I liked the Hammerhead, but there was always a part of me that liked the Bugg for what it was.
