HISSTANK.com Discussion Topic G.I. Joe 6" Inch Black Series Part 2

baroness-6-inch-cobra-gijoe-black-series1 Welcome to the new showdown over 6-Inch G.I. Joe Black Series figures. We have already seen Round One go down with a small victory in favor of producing a 6" G.I. Joe line. Now more then ever, a new scale or size class is needed in the ARAH G.I. Joe Universe. Not only would the new size class bring back a huge chunk of the larger ARAH G.I. Joe fanbase, it would also bring in new collectors from the 6" realm of collecting.

Over the years I have seen a lot opinions on size class and people who discounted the G.I. Joe Modern Era Body style as a "fad" that would be short-lived. I have seen a lot of the "Old Guard" swear up and down they would never collect modern era. However we all know that the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Line ignited the brand, and launched G.I. Joe back into the spotlight. Since that time, we have had two live action G.I. Joe Movies with different levels of success, and a big decline in retail sales of the G.I. Joe Brand.

If something is not done soon to bring back the larger pool of fans, ARAH G.I. Joe will be limited to Collecting FSS figures and whatever the G.I. Joe Club decides to produce. This may be fine for the Hardcore Collectors who are willing to buy figures at 3x the cost of major retail, but will kill the line for the general collecting public. The popularity and character selection is just not there in 4 inch scale. I can personally see the G.I. Joe Club running into problems with the same topic after FSS 3.0.

The bottom line is will you support G.I. Joe 6" Black Series?

Sound off after the jump and let us know how you feel about G.I. Joe 6" Inch but most of all cast your vote!

Flashback - G.I.Joe Arcade Game By Konami

1992-GIJoe-Arcade-Game---Hisstank Hisstank.com forum member katdan847 has shared a very cool and unique haul with us and we wanted to share it with you! What is it, you ask? Here's a hint -

Way back in 1992, video game maker Konami released a G.I.Joe arcade game that wasn't available on home consoles. The G.I.Joe Wiki describes the arcade game as follows -

It is based on the cartoon series G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and is a third-person rail shooting game, in which players choose one of four characters from the series: Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and Roadblock.

Up to four players can play the game at once. The object of the game is to find Cobra's hidden base and prevent Cobra Commander from taking over the world. There are three missions in the game, each composed of several areas, including a chemical plant, an air base, a weapon plant, a jungle, a cavern base, and a battleship. Enemies include Viper soldiers and various Cobra vehicles such as FANG II, HISS II, Razorback and Hurricane. The bosses consist of Tomax and Xamot, Metal-Head, The Baroness, Major Bludd and Destro. The final battle takes place between the G.I. Joe team and Cobra Commander.

Now katdan gets to play any time he wants! How cool is that? You can join in on all the oohs and aahs with us after the jump!

G.I.Joe Dossiers Episode 5 The Baroness Now Online

BARONESS Hisstank.com forum member skinny has posted the 5th installment of his G.I.Joe Dossiers series. This time around, the focus is on none other than The Baroness!

From the G.I.Joe Wiki - The Baroness is a character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline by Hasbro, originally appearing in the first issue of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic series by Marvel Comics in June, 1982. The Baroness is a villain, associated with G.I. Joe's nemesis, Cobra.

Baroness serves as Cobra's intelligence officer and lieutenant to Cobra Commander. With long black hair, black-rimmed glasses, and a black leather outfit, Baroness is a dark, sensual femme fatale whose beauty is matched only by her ruthlessness. In both comic and cartoon incarnations, as well as the 2009 live-action movie for the series, she has romantic relationships with Destro.

Although the character was not part of the initial G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero release in 1982, she did appear in G.I. Joe #1, published by Marvel Comics in June 1982 and was, in fact, the first character to crossover from the comics, into the animated series, and finally into the toy line. She made her debut as an action figure in the 1984 series, wearing a new uniform that was then carried back over to the comic and cartoon.

Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past. - Henry Ward Beecher

If you're planning on doing something fun tonight, make sure to do so SAFELY! AAA can be called if you need a ride home or you can download one of the many apps that provides cabs for those that need them...whatever you do, make sure you're here for 2014 as there's a TON of awesome coming our way!
