Not to be outdone by his fantastic ARAH Cobra BUGG review, HissTank.com forum member danielgogeta comes through with another vintage review, this time of the 1987 G.I.Joe A Real American Hero Cobra Buzz Boar!
With it's large, rotating wheel, the Boar digs underground to cache top-secret implements of destruction!

In 1988, Hasbro introduced a vehicle that to this day, is still one of the most unique in the Cobra Arsenal - The Cobra BUGG. Created by Hasbro Designer Dave Kunitz, the BUGG was originally intended to be released as just the front Sub Pod. Marketing loved it and asked Dave to make the whole thing larger.
The BUGG served as Cobra's Coastal Defender, able to bring the battle to the G.I.Joe Team on the Land or in the Sea. The vehicle offered quite a few play points - from the removable Sub Pod to the Jet skis that were stored away in side panels to the overall amount of figures that this beast of a vehicle could carry. Oh, did I mention the uber-awesome driver, Secto-Viper?

What an incredible day it has been here in New Jersey. While out visiting family and friends, working my way back to Florida, I always make my way to all the local Vintage Toy Stores that are located in the South Jersey area. Today I walked into The House of Fun and as always started talking shop with Chris Consalvi the owner. I do my normal shopping and pick up a few G.I.Joe items for my collection and start the check-out process. Chris then starts to say, "hey before you leave check out this G.I.Joe Art I got in the other day you might be interested in". Well he proceeds to pull out a piece of 1982 Hector Garrido G.I.Joe Original Art that was done for Hasbro Industries, Inc. -Durham Industries, G.I.Joe pinball game. The rest is History, it is now in my collection.

If he looks you straight in the eye, you'll feel as if you have a bullseye on your forehead."

New images of classic ARAH G.I.Joe Battle Coprs Mace are now posted up for your viewing pleasure. Mace was an undercover operative for Battle Corps and was also released as a D.E.F. Joe.
After years of undercover work gaining the trust of high-level criminals, Mace has managed to infiltrate some of the largest crime syndicates in the world. While concealing his true identity, he leaks valuable information to his Battle Corps partners who use the information to raid crime warehouses and bust unsuspecting Cobra villians. Every day Mace stays undercover, his life is in jeopardy. But to him, no risk is too great to continue the war against crime and to protect the innocent. From the Colorado Rockies to the shores of Tripoli, Mace is always ready to fight for what's right!

A quick look back at one of the most under rated ARAH Vintage G.I.Joe concepts the "Mega Marines"! Complete with moldable Bio-Armor and Missiles via Play-Doh, (Orange in this case) this specialized team was created to combat the evil Cobra Mega Monsters courtesy of Dr. Mindbender. Check out his file card info below.

Born on the bayou GUNG-HO's background in hostile environments and experience in the U.S. Marine Corps made him a natural choice to command the MEGA-MARINE forces. GUNG-HO knows you can never be sure where or when a MEGA-MONSTER will turn up, so you have to prepared at all times. He demands that his Mega-Marines sleep with one eye open, that way they won't think it's just a nightmare they're having when the MEGA-MONSTERS really attack! GUNG-HO is known for his effectiveness in neutralizing the most dangerous enemies - a skill that will be put to the test fighting these genetically enhanced creeps!

So, you're about to move in to a new house, you have a spare bedroom to dedicate to all of your plastic crack and you say to yourself...I wonder how I should display them? Well, if I were you, I'd take a page out of the playbook of fellow HissTank Community members McCheif and DNE76 and make yourself a GIANT G.I.Joe vs. Cobra Battle Diorama!
Here's just a taste of whats involved in this BEAST of a Dio -
The DIO was made over several months. We used several techniques and materials, including:
-styrofoam for the base and forms
-spackle for texture
-craft moss for grass and weeds
-silicone and blue food coloring for the frozen lake
-decorative sands for extra texture
-clear acrylic bases and rods for helicopter placement
and a LOT of paint!

HISSTANK.com Sound-Off: If you were in-charge of the G.I.Joe Brand? It could be the end of the world tomorrow and this could be your last chance at a fanboy rant. HISSTANK.com boards member phightower has started up the topic and it's time to sound off. I have personally gone into nerd anger fanboy mode for my top 5 things I would do to take over the world via GIJOE and Cobra!
#1 Get away from the Wal-Mart dead end. There is a little known fact about almost all Toys: If Wal-Want does not agree to buy it, then it does not get produced. Wal-Mart is the #1 reason why Toys are far less desirable and they also try and succeed most of the time at dictating price.
#2 Where is the First Person Shooter video game. Call of Duty: Black Ops II brings in $500 million in first day sales! You want to sell toys make a killer video game. I think Hasbro is having it's eyes open with the Transformers video games doing so well. So where is the GIJOE version at? Hasbro needs to let GIJOE be what it is.... A violent military fictional story about the United States being the world police, sounds familiar and current.
#3 The movie needs to be and can be done so much better. This 24 minute video is better then anything I have seen Hasbro or Paramount attempt and IMO this is what needs to be done. Slap GIJOE and Cobra logo's on this, sprinkle in the names and your good to go.
#4 Less of the same characters over and over again. Less Duke, Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow more new characters and a development of those characters via all forms of media - Cartoon, Comics and Web.
#5 Rinse and Repeat!
