Cool Toy Review: With the recent fan favorite poll recently completed here at Cool Toy Review, it looks like the results show that you're right on track with what the fans have chosen. Were there any characters that surprised you?
Hasbro: No real suprises. It feels good to know we are in touch with the fans.
Cool Toy Review: Why the choice to make Serpentor without the cobralike hood? The original simply snapped into the hole in his back. Is there any chance you will include it as an accessory?
Hasbro: All I can say is that we have plans for Serpentor and his hood.
Cool Toy Review: Are there any plans to make a SCARFACE Cobra soldier? I've been wanting him since he first appeared in the comics back in the 80's and he'd be a welcome addition to the legion of Cobra!
Hasbro: Sorry, if we didn't reveal it at JoeCon, you will have to sit tight for a little while longer.
Cool Toy Review: I recently pulled a sealed case off of a pallet at Wal-Mart. When I opened it, I noticed that the cardbacks of the figures were bent because the shipping case is not big enough for the figures!!! Why change the cardstock when all that needs fixed is the shipping case size? It just needs to be a little bigger. While you are at it, make it 12 figures per case, with more troopers.
Hasbro: Your feedback is heard. We will look into the case pack size. As for 12 figures for case, that will not change.but you will see more troopers in the future.
Cool Toy Review: Not really a question, but I wanted to pass this along...
JoeCon: What a great show, with loads of announcements and a lot of excitement. It seems like the G.I. Joe brand is on the cusp of making a huge comeback with the new toys and the upcoming movie. Congratulations on what appears to be a great line with a lot of history and comeback potential. Obviously, longtime fans are excited by the line, but I gotta tell you, even those who weren't fans back in the 1980s are excited by what is coming. Keep up the good job!
Hasbro: Thank you for the kind words. We just want to fans to realize we love the brand as much as they do.
| Lt. Faceless: Hasbro: All I can say is that we have plans for Serpentor and his hood.
I wonder what that could mean?I'm i the only that thinks since they chose to do the DDP serpy, they should do the DDP air chariot?I would love to see that in toy form. Shin-Gouki: My Guess is a Comic Pack with a Proper Serpentor Shogi: Quote: |

"Will the black timber variant of snake eyes continue to ship in wave 2 and/or 3? I was under the impression that there was supposed to be a 50/50 split between the white and black timbers, but this hasn't seemed to be the case."
While we cannot give out ratio information, the black wolf is less common than the white. We are planning on continuing to produce both color wolves in future waves.
"What is the status of funskool molds retrieved from India?(damaged beyond repair, ready to use, needs cleaning, lost, etc.)"
While we can't give too many specifics, Hasbro is doing its best to find and preserve old G.I. Joe tools.
"When you re-release boxed pack figures as singles, will there be differences so we know they're different? (IE- Color changes, new sculpted details, etc)"
No, we are re-releasing the 5 packs figures as is because this is what we heard from the fans.
"Is it possible that we will be getting anything other than toys to celebrate the 25th Anniversary? (t-shirts, posters, books, etc.)"
Hold tight until the movie and hopefully you will have your hands full.
"It was discussed at the convention that the 25th anniversary figures will be switching to a new lower mid-torso joint. Any idea as to when we'll see this change implemented?"
Look for this change in wave 1 2008.
| C.I.A.D.: "It was discussed at the convention that the 25th anniversary figures will be switching to a new lower mid-torso joint. Any idea as to when we'll see this change implemented?"

^^^^ That is why IG Destro will ROCK! Shogi: I had completely forgotten about the mid torso joint! Autobot_Goldbug: http://wiki.joecustoms.com/wiki/Hasbro_QA_4

When can we expect Mastercollector to be offering DTC wave 4?
We don’t yet have an answer for that.
How about the Rest of the Sunbow cartoons will they ever get released on DVD?
This feedback was heard loud and clear at JoeCon and the team has raised the issue within Hasbro.
Is there any chance you'll be making 5-pack of Joe vehicle Drivers (Clutch, Ace,Wild-Bill, Cutter, Heavy-Metal, Etc)?
There is no plan for this right now.
Any chance of a Cobra-La comeback, for example Cobra-La convention set?
There is no plan for this right now.
Where are the tenative locations for 2008 GiJoe Convention?
Master Collector will reveal this information in the coming months.
| FireFly5: http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=9&itemid=12009 Quote: TNI: Will the figures in the special wave of single-carded box set figures coming out at the end of the year be the exact same figures as those already released, or will some of the joint and articulation problems be fixed on these versions? Hasbro: They will be exactly the same as the figures in the box sets. Look for new articulation in the first wave of 2008. TNI: Exactly what will people have to do to get the very cool-looking Doc mail-away figure shown at this year's Con? Hasbro: To get Doc, fans will have to send in 5 proof of purchase stickers from the Comic Packs. TNI: Can you tell us more about the rank building evolution type sets to be released at TRU stores (as announced at this year's Con)? How many figures will be released in each set, what figures will be in the initial sets, and will these be new figures or just re-released ones? Hasbro: We will be debuting these at the GI Joe Club soon. These packs will have three figures and highlight the ranks of both Cobra and GI Joe. TNI: Will the new IG Destro have a soft good cape or a hard plastic cape? Hasbro: This will be soft goods. TNI: Word at the convention was that a Crimson Guard Commander comic 2-pack would be released in the second wave of comic packs. Is this true? Hasbro: Other than the wave 1 Comic Pack characters, we've only confirmed the Dreadknoks comic pack.
| Shin Densetsu: One of my questions got answered!(I knew it looked familiar!). Glad to know Hasbro is trying its best to get a hold of the funskool molds. Also, I would not be surprised if Hooded RAH Serpentor was the next Serpentor they put out. Shogi: So can someone answer me this: What is a "soft goods" cape? Yeah, that's got my Nerd Anger rising | I'm also upset at that mail-in thing.
"Soft goods" is what they call fabric accessories over at Hasbro. alexreed: Just another marketing scheme... to get us to buy everything they release. This is one of the reasons I got sick of collecting Star Wars figures. tkprime: Here goes my 2 cents on the Doc mail away figure, we have to shell out 10.00 a pack x 5 packs to get the upc to get said mail away? What about all of us that have battle points and those like me who have a whole top drawer of original flag points, When is Hasbro going to offer up some cool mail aways to get us back into the fold, I think it's great that we get an offer for a new figure, but it limits how we get it and to some I just find it unfair, let's hope that Hasbro has some cool plans ahead. Shogi: I was already planning on buying all 3 but now I have to pick up two extras!? I suppose I can try to track down 2 Hawk packs so I can make a couple more custom Original 13 figures The Superfly: wow, 5 UPCs??? I assumed it would be 3 at most.
good one, Hasbro... tkprime: As for the serpentor guys (sorry couldn't resist )maybe he's the Operation Dragonfire version, I mean have you seen the look on his face, like he just swallowed a fly! Blowtorch: Quote: |

Especially at the rate the current single/5 packs are coming out the offer may expire before you can get the right amount of flag points. Then again theres always ebay, and to think I save all those damn flag points from the VvsV stuff.
Well either way I will get Doc, I just don't have to like it. Monkeywrench: That sucks about DOC. Does anyone know when wave 2 of the comic packs are coming? Will they come in time for the mail in offer? ceraurus: 6 UPCs!!!!!!!!! This is just plain silly. Maybe an underground counterfeiting will pop up.
Hasbro: "Hmmmmm. We made 100,000 comic packs but 300,000 UPCs have been mailed in." Monkeywrench: Quote: |

I just hope that wave 2 of comic packs come shortly after wave 1. Whats the time limit on getting the mail away figure? The Superfly: From AFI: Q1. Will the single carded Flint be re-released in other waves? A: Yes. Q2: Will there be a single carded Baroness at all? A: I would never say the Baroness is "single" … Q3: Are the characters shown on the SDCC trading cards yet and indication of future figures in the line? A: The playing cards at SDCC were meant to highlight the great characters from GI Joe lore…not teasing future figures. Q4: Do you know the details for the Doc mail-in??
What will be required of fans for this one? A: To get Doc fans will have to send in 6 proof of purchase stickers from the Comic Packs. http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/p...pic.php?t=7786 C.I.A.D.: Ok...so time to vent some NERD ANGER!
Hasbro is trying this whole "we're for the collector" schmeel, right? K.
So how is it, that in order to get Doc, I have to buy NINE comic packs?
Why 9? Think about it. No collector here will cut open a card like a frog in biology class. The super anal among us (looks in mirror), will be damned if they ruin that holy piece of cardboard backing.
So that means I have to buy 9. 6 to open & mail in, the other 3 to actually keep sealed.
Kudos, Hasbro. I'll just buy Doc on feebay...will probably be cheaper. Shogi: well I guess the whole, "sure we'll use battle points" from the Q&A at the Joecon got thrown out the window after the weekend.
Also started thinking, it says UPC stickers......hopefully you'll have to fully open the package to get it out or we might have people stealing them from the store C.I.A.D.: Wow, very good point, Shogi. Never thought about that (stealing the label).
Looks like I have a life of crime ahead of me. COOOOOBRAAAAAAAAAA! Lt. Faceless: Maybe hasbro has seen the fan reaction to the neon comic packs and they were like "shit, what are we going to do now"(you like that TF quote don't ya?).Make the fans buy 6 just to get doc.If the comic packs are at least 10$ a pop.Thats 60$ for a single fig.Like someone else said,Add 3 more to keep MISP and now a 5$ fig is 90$.So much for my doc. C.I.A.D.: I can just imagine how flooded eBay will be with the first wave of figures once the CPs are released.
"RARE 25TH COMIC PACK COBRA COMMANDER!"...
Search results = 938459083475894375894 & 1 found artiepants: well, hopefully they will make the deadline long enough for a couple waves to come out, cuz i'm only planning to get Hawk from Wave 1... or toss us a bone with an Army-builder pack (like some "Fred" Crimson Guardsman or something...) Compulsive Collector: Quote: |
Originally Posted by Shogi Also started thinking, it says UPC stickers......hopefully you'll have to fully open the package to get it out or we might have people stealing them from the store | It really needs to be something that has to be cut off the back of the card, or else people could find a way to remove a sticker and return the package to the store without it. Even if that means opening and resealing it, some people would go to the trouble. tile_mcgillus: This is way past a joke. That is just absurd. You can keep you neon colored ridiculous figures and your Doc. For that price I could buy a Masterpiece Skywarp figure! swafus: HAHAHAHAH!!
Good one hasbro! Real funny!
Newsflash= that 1st wave of comic packs just plain sucks! The only figure worth having is Hawk. The rest of them are lazy, ridiculous looking repaints. Nice try, but no sale, i'll make my own custom Doc before I'll blow $60 on those garbage figs. Shin-Gouki: Well looks like my Kids are getting some #$@#%!! comic packs then. Listen to us on this one Hasbro!!!! Obiwanjacoby: This sounds awfully familiar. . .
Isn't this the same shtick they did with the very first Star Wars Ultimate Galactic Hunt?
-PJ arashikage storm: ANd Take into account that this Doc Figure is rumored to be CARDED, that makes a total of 15 comic packs: 3 to keep MOC, and 2X6 to get one to open/ 1 to keep MOC......$150 Doc anyone.... The Fridge: I'll probably have the $150 Doc set of 3 . And a ton of the new smurf Snake Eyes, and day glow Scarlett to keep him company. At least wave 2 of the comic packs looks promising! ceraurus: Quote: |

Some of the 25th anniversary figures are updated looks, not their classic 80s looks (like Zartan and Serpentor). Will we see classic versions of these characters? The desire for for classic versions of all 25th Annviersary Figures came thru loud and clear at this year's JoeCon. We appreciated the feedback.
Why can't you maintain a better supply of stock on your website? If anything you could leave the option up to preorder when stock is out that way the shop would have some idea on what to order. We've were pleasantly overwhelmed by fan response to our 25th Anniversary line, and are making the appropriate production adjsutments - keep checking your local stores … you should see product on shelves shortly.
What is the most effective format for feedback that fans can use to influence your decisions about the 25th and ongoing lines? The Hasbro team welcomes fan feedback. Talking to us through these Q&A sessions, in person at JoeCon, via Master Collector, or even posting on the boards are all good ways to contact us.
After the "test-run" of exclusive vehicles at Target, what would be the vehicles we would most likely see? Newly sculpted ones, or more repaints of original molds? Let us get through the Target exclusive vehicles and then we can start looking into the future.
Since there has been no news of a renewal with Devils Due is Hasbro shopping around for another publisher for the GI Joe comic book and if they are when should we expect an announcement about who that publisher might be? We hope to have an announcent regarding the comic book later this year.

-PJ | Yep, this is pretty much the same thing. Star Wars collectors had to buy six figures that retailed from $9.99-11.99 (depending on where you bought 'em) to mail in for a coin set, PLUS $4.95!
Now the good news for the guys who are freaking out about having to buy multiples of the (lame IMO) first wave to get Doc:
The Star Wars offer was available for a full year! The expiration date is 02/29/08. I see no reason why the Doc offer would be any different, since there are so many similarities.
Hope that helps. |
