G.I. Joe Modern Era Wave 9 Bazooka Review 100_2433
While Bazooka has never quite projected himself to be a highly intelligent individual, he has surprised his teammates and foes alike with his strength and tenacity. Having trained on both sides of armor, Bazooka is just as much a qualified tank operator as he is an anti-armor expert. When he's not busy, he likes to engage in his passion for fishing.

DESTRO:
Bazooka's trainers described him as a decisive fast thinker with the instincts of a natural survivor. They must have been on to something when they saw his transfer request to Armor School. Bazooka was driving an Abrams tank as part of the Third Armored Division when he came to the realization that an iliterate farmer armed with a rocket launcher can knock out a tank.

The new updated Bazooka figure comes with 4 rockets that can be placed inside the Bazooka weapon. The back-pack also holds all 4 shells and has a rack to store the Bazooka Weapon.

The helmet is removable and the head sculpt is very accurate to the cartoon version. Now all we need is an Alpine!

Echo7Solo:
man I thought at first this was a pass but now it seems more like a must have. The hedsculpt is good, the arms and hands are spot on. Those hands can be used for so many other figures. The backpack is spot on. This is way better than I thought from the first pics
Gothiczartan:
he's inspired from the marvel comics and the sunbow cartoons (except the color of his pants, wrist bands and helmet).

let's wait to see if there will be a new alpine figure to fit in the bazooka figure just like in the cartoon show!
ceraurus:
Bazooka wasn't a favorite of mine (came a little later), but this figure looks great. I definite must-have.
Saboteur:
Been waiting a long time for this one!
I love the ole tank bustin' joe!
Here's to hoping Alpine is on the way!

Agent-GHQ:
Another great sculpt! However, it would have been even more great if it has the knee caps.

Come on Hasbro, lets pay more attention to the details.
nighthawk:
I wish the missiles didn't fit so high up on the backpack. It looks kinda weird. Otherwise, it's a great looking figure.

Again with the knees Ryver. :P

    Bazooka looks pretty sweet.
artiepants:
hey, Destro can you compare and tell if he is a torso remold of Roadblock? the non-double jointed knees are really disappointing, and he seems way too buff to me (which is why i thought he was a remold) but the head sculpt, deco and accessories are all top-notch
barbecue:
I envy you. You have all the figures from wave 9 before everyone.
vadersquest:
I will get this fig. He was a fav as a kid. I hope to get at least 3 of him. Hasbro, in my opinion, knocked this one out of the park.
G.I.Eddie:
i've always thought he looked great, from the very first pics we saw...and i like that he's bulky, a little body veriation like in real life...

a while back i was actually considering making a custom version, and never got around to it, then this guy happened and i saw no point...cause he's perfect!...

yeah, i'm mostly just curious if he's bulky by design or if he's a remold.
G.I.Eddie:
might be Artie, but his lower shirt folds are different than RB's, and his upper has a v-neck molded on and it looks as if near his shoulder area it kinda tucks in a little, maybe to better pose holding his launcher?...i'd like to see under his belt to see if he has the same molded on belt as RB...that'd be a dead giveaway

yeah, if he is, he's definitely an extensive remold like Barbecue, because he's very different, just seems like the "shape" of his torso and proportions are quite similar.
Axelay:
Say, can the rockets be placed in the backpack upside-down? (i.e. warhead pointing down) I kinda feel like they'd look better that way since there wouldn't be so much dead space in the "holsters."

I think he actually sold the set of wave 9 he had, on eBay IIRC. I wish I would have seen the auction links earlier, because I would have potentially bid on the Hawk... ah well.
MAJOR WOLF:
Bazooka looks Great! Can't wait to get him!
murphbri:
Wow, Bazooka looks like a darn-near perfect remake of the '85 fig. Only the collar of his shirt is off. I will be happy to get my hands on this one!

I am curious about why they went with different knee articulation, though it doesn't bother me personally.
Gung.Heaux:
i think its pretty damned obvious the shells are not in the backpack correctly.
Syn3sthesia:
I can't wait got get the Zook. We really need an Alpine now!
Cavbeast:
Can't wait for Bazooka. Just gotta figure out if I you can pose him to do that yodeling from the one Joe episode.
Crimson Rage:
I think the figure itself is great, but those huge missiles on his backpack are a bit off.
xFlintx:
Bazooka is sweet. Can't wait for him. I'll echo the sentiments about needing Albert Pine as well.

The other thing I thought about was that now we need Dusty and Lifeline and then Hasbro can repaint them so we'll have almost all of the original tiger force.
gijoevscobra4ever:
Can't wait. He looks great. Darn close. Hasbro, please give us Alpine!!!
Smitty2733:
Looking at Bazooka's headsculpt leads me to think that Hasbro could re-use it pretty easily for a Zap figure.

Here's hoping. All we have left of the original 13 are Zap and Short-Fuze.

I agree they are not in the backpack right. In this pic from a toy show in Canada they are in the backpack right check the reflection in the glass.
Tomahawk:
    awesome, cant wait
Rodimus-Power:
looks great , really need and want him
VIPER 48:
Bazooka is an A+. I can't wait to find him...

Ah! I haven't seen that piccy before. Now that I have, ol' Bazook goes up in my estimation even more.
JR0d28:
10 to 1 They are going to use his head for ZAP
Monkeywrench:
Looks great! I can't wait to get him.

did destro get wave 9 from BBTS?
Cataclizm1:
Yes the missiles fit inside the backpack lower like the original figure had them. Looks much better that way. He is a nice figure in person, and I agree we need Alpine or there will be no justice in this world!
jdizz76:
This figure is a solid 8.5! I think the sculpt is great; the massive torso/shoulders are a very touch. I want to give this figure a 9, but when placed next to the BAT, I just can't justify a rating higher than an 8.5. If it weren't for the BAT, and maybe the Snow S, this would be the cream of the crop. A great addition to anyone's collection.
mandingo_rex:
I love Bazooka. He's one of my favorite Joes, and a great 25th figure to boot. I'm dying for the DVD pack Alpine. Bazooka needed the gum accessory from Breaker, and that extra knee articulation.

On Destro, it's not so much an issue, or Copperhead. Why the bigger guys don't have that knee joint bugs me, since the rest of them do.

The problem with Roadblock and Bazooka is, they both need to kneel to interact with their weapons correctly, and NEITHER can do that. Nobody else comes with a ground-kneeling-necessary weapon like these 2 bulky guys, yet these 2 unfortunate guys can't kneel properly.

Bazooka's fu manchu is a little off, good call on Zap. Maybe that's the reason for the mustache down the road? Not sure why Bazooka and Gung-Ho decided to change up their lip hair for a different style, but it's not a deal breaker.

Mad Joe Customizer's head looks much better though.

Bazooka's a freaking ox, I always imagined the Jersey was to hide a vest underneath... You'd have to be wearing some sort of kevlar to be brazen (or stupid) enough to wear a bright red Jersey on a battlefield.
dawg99:
awesome review bazzoka is sweet freakin huge compared to original
