Someone looks FABULOUSE!!!!!!! toolrocks302: I don't care what anyone says I think that Python Patrol Crimson Guard looks great. I can't wait to get a few of those. Monkeywrench: this wave looks to be very weak joshdahl: I have to think that those Python Patrol Crimson Guard guys are some kind of inside joke at Hasbro.
Like the mangy dog that is just SO ugly that you grow to love it.
I really wanna see that Tripwire, though.

 mech-grunt: Man to this day I am still scratching my head on the whole PP thing. What the hell are they thing? I know some of you are gaga gugu over it, but I just don’t get it. I might get 1 or 2 just to complete the set and give Joe snipers the opportunity to test their skills at the maximum effective range. This is the kind of stuff that made me quit buying Joes in the first place! Shin Densetsu: I am buying the Guard for sure, I love that mold, and Python Patrol is one of my fav cobra groups. I love GI Joe and I love the new line but this figure is never going to grow on me.
We have this, but no single-carded Legions Trooper, no Recondo, no Cover Girl, no Ripcord, no Zap, no Kwinn, no Daina, no Horrorshow, no Schrage, no Footloose?? thunderdan19: It's called a gimmick, a cheap way of putting more figs on shelves because they know the completists must have them and kids might just pick one up because of the bright, wacky colors. It happened before and apparently there are enough people buying these to warrant it happening again... Be careful, Hasbro or it's...

 BrettX209: I couldn't get excited about Python Patrol (or any of the repaint teams) as a kid, and it seems I can't get terribly excited about them now. skeletoncrew: this figure REALLY illustrates the different strokes for different folks principle in action...
i am one of the ones that cannot stand the look of this figure and ask myself, "could they make it ANY worse looking if they tried!?!"
but, the things that repulse me attract another...it truelly is a universe of unlimited tastes and opinions... foor: I remember I could never get my hands on an original CG. And I was happy to get the PP CG as a kind of substitute. Now though, I got an army of 25th regular CGs, so I don't see myself getting more than one of these guys purely for nostalgia. artiepants: that's the thing about PP and Tiger Force ~ i was more into Transformers in 84 and 85, and only had a few Joes from those years, so i remember getting pretty into JOe for about 86-88 so PP and TF were my first versions of a lot of those characters, so even though i will freely admit PPCG is pretty damn garish, i do have a soft spot for him
(in retrospect, i don't know why they didn't make the figures match the PP vehicles better like they did with the "new sculpt era" PP repaints ~ would have both looked cooler and made more sense...) Sasanagui: I'm glad to hear nearly everyone ignores the PP, it'll make troop building much more possible for me. I'm on my way to 20 officers so one day i'll have one of those boffo dioramas to boast about.
These repaints kind of remind me of crappy Austin Powers/007 henchman, which I happen to like very much. barbecue: Looks cool. I will only get one of each PP figures when I see them on retail. |
