Not a fan of the Tripwire release since I already have him from the comic book set, and I don't like Ripper in that ugly yellow shirt.
Thankfully I already have him from the comic set.
Ninja Viper? Meh... I don't like those inflexible Duke arms.

I don't know about the Cobra Trooper. I'm thinking I have enough of these now. The Tripwire and Ripper are total skips for me, but I want at lest a couple of the Cobra Divers. i<3COBRALA: the cobra diver is exactly a repaint he even has a the joe pyramid in his belt buckle 100% repaint but looks cool! Cobra Invasor: I'll pass on the entire wave. The best figure is Tripwire and I already have it from the Comic Pack. The only bad thing is that I need the elements... Saboteur: This wave is a pass for me, except for Ripper. I may decide to do a Gnawgahyde custom. It's a shame really, that Hasbro couldn't mold a head and a hat and they would have given us a new character. But it is wave 12 and its supposed to be a repaint wave.
It wouldn't be hard for Hasbro to make a Gnawgahyde though. And with that hat, they would have all the right parts to make a Recondo too.
Hasbro, you don't really have to get new molds for the remaining big names in the joe line (with a few small exceptions). You have enough parts already that are close enough to do the remaining big shots.

Sab darth_henning: Overall, I'm not thrilled with this wave, but I'll get most.
One ninja viper for the accessories (I passed on the SS/FF CP)
One tripwire for the canister and custom fodder
One cobra diver for canister and new character
Two PP crimson guards - one to keep, other to repaint (I'm working on a stealth set of all blacks)
One Cobra trooper for the sigil - if I have money to waste.
The ripper is a complete waste.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with the wave, new characters would have been better, but overall, decent repaints - at least theres no Duke, CC or Destro. Saboteur: Quote:

Where I think it's going sour is when they put all of their effort into movie figures instead of focusing on the modern era line.
It is the one that has become a success.

If Tripwire was smooth chested, it would be a different story.

For what it is, not bad in general:
Trooper- I have no pressing need for Troopers, however, if I can get rid of my "small logo" figure from the 5 pack, I might splurge on this one. For some reason, I always thought it more appropriate for Troopers to have the red mask rather than black.
Ninja Viper- Getting the wave 4 comic pack with SS and Firefly, so no need at all for this figure.
Cartoon Ripper- Good thing Tripwire turned out the way he did! I REALLY like this repaint, which perfectly fits in with my growing cartoon collection. My only lament is that I wasted my money on the two pack earlier in the year.
Python CG- New card art surprises me, pretty solid card art too. Given previous repaint team figures, I had expected repainted card art. This was among the few figures as a kid I had that was related to the "classic years" and I am quite happy with it.
Cobra Diver- a very nice repaint, but I'll be getting Eels and have Torpedo, so this is one that is not needed by me. Especially with skipping the MASS CC and Tripwire, I won't even be getting this for the element.
Tripwire- Major dissappointment here. I can kinda understand why the smooth padding might not have been used (may have been tied with Major Bludd or Hiss driver figures in production), but I see NO reason why he couldn't have been painted in more cartoon accurate colors (for most of the cartoon, Tripwire had very light, almost white, gloves and boots, and his padding was grey with very dark green base and blue googles.)
With him being a straight repack, I'll have NO regrets on getting the new comic pack with him AND a CC like the one I had. captain99: I'm sorry, I know a lot of you are fans of the repaints and some of these other types found in Waves like this one. Do we really need a Cobra Diver, when there are Cobra Eels? And the Python Patrol concept, really? Do we need another Ripper? And it's only a repaint.
There are so many other figures that are just waiting to be made and Wave 12 just seems to be sorely lacking in imagination and quality.
Love the line so far, but enough with the repaints, How many Dukes, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commanders, Detsros, etc do we need? Deckard: Quote:

Good thing they come with MASS device parts too. The cobra diver will look cool on the water mocassin, along with a cobra eel, diver baroness and Copperhead. CaptainDinobot: I like the army builders but the Ripper and Tripwire are useless. Well I will still be getting them anyway. darthdrew13: Inunderstand the complaints about the Cobra Diver but also understand why Hasbro made it. The NEED to defer costs to keep pricing down. Doing a straight repaint of Torpedo x2 (the SRO is the other) helps them save money on certain waves so they can spend it on others. I think if those who like this re-release wave and kids give it monetary support, Hasbro will have the $$$ to bring us more of what we want. (Skystriker?)
As for Tripwire, I thought we were told that he would have the smooth chest and arms, etc. Also I wish he had no pads on the thighs just like the vintage one. Tripwire has always been one of my favorites, and I can only afford a small MOC card collection in addition to my open figures. So Tripwire is a win for me.
And for a repaint wave, I can't complain too much.
But how about a PP Viper? Rocky: This is the first time since the 25th came out that I am not very excited for a wave. Diablogunner: Going for the diver, Tripwire, and I may have to work on the Dreadnok like the rest have said, the colors are there. Rooster3D: I'll probably get two or three Cobra Divers, Tripwire for his element and single-card factor, and at least one Trooper. I'm not keen on the red bandanna and bare neck, though.
The others are too lame for my tastes. Gung.Heaux: the diver looks great...yes its a repaint, but i like it...and its not the first repaint ive purchased.

And back to black web gear... The only thing I hate is the INCONSISTENCY!
Gah, how hard is it to get the trooper right? My favorite so far is the first one in the Cobra 5-pack, Why can't they just release a troop-builder set with that guy in it? Keep the diaper crotch, he's the best Trooper so far.
The yellow-harness troopers have the red emblem, but red necks/red masks, and that mustard yellow crap. I don't want to have to paint ALL my troopers to somewhat match.
If he had just had a black mask, I could live with the flesh neck. WHY the red face masks? They stand out like an eyesore. Granted, behind the silver-emblem single-carded trooper, which I didn't have that much of an issue with, this is the third-best trooper behind the first release. At least it doesn't have that hideous yellow. Why can't they make a TRU Day-Watch 5-pack? Leave it blue, done.
The diver, while a tad redundant having EELs, at least matches the Baroness somewhat, so that's fine with me. See, repaint that makes sense.
Ninja viper, I could care less for, but the nurse-scrub color is bleh. Ripper, come on? Those jeans are ridiculously blue. I was fine with the first 3 Dreadnoks, they were great. Where the hell is Monkeywrench?
Tripwire, really? Do we need another exactly the same? I agree with previous comments, a new paint job would have been worth it. The first Tripwire in the CP was fantastic, why they couldn't put the M.A.S.S. element with someone else, I have no idea.
I've seen enough CGs, and that PP paintjob is horrendous, even if it's true to the original. If they're not going to do all of Python Patrol and Tiger Force, why do a few of them? I say give us more new characters before needless sub-group repaints. Just release more reissues, we'd be happy for that.
