If you missed Destro along with past announced Duke, Scarlett, Roadblock, Gung Ho and Cobra Storm Shadow, you will now have a second chance to add these to your collection.

You can still buy those 5 pack cases at some TOYS R USs though, I have seen them. Killjoy: Great. Needed the Flint. Still need the Lady Jay, Armoured CC, SE w/ Timber, Red Ninja, Torpedo, Rock N Roll, Bazooka, Hiss Driver, BAT, and a Doc. Wonder if those will ever be re-released? SNAKE EYES: In Diamond's Previews it lists Commando Snake Eyes black V1(RAH) V5 25th as part of the case also.
I just wish that since the took the time to recard Duke they would have went with the fixed arms like on the new wave 10 T.F. Duke and if they were in use already just wait to release him again until the mold was available. really surprised they are running this Duke again since w.7 Duke was kind of a pegwarmer and Tiger Force Duke will be out at the same time-ish (woulda been nice too if they'd run Duke's backpack the same color green as his pants/helmet or stuck in the "corrected" pack from Tiger Force Duke). and used the new arms...
i know these are "re-reuns" exactly as before, but still... Driftbot: yeah BATs and snow serpents are the first thing scalpers nab. looks like they are getting choosey now and just going for the most bang-for-the-buck figures. at least they are leaving other wave 9 figures for people to buy.
as for this revision, pretty cool since i need a spare gung-ho (or should i wait for that rumored comic pack?).
and WHY do those duke arms keep getting stuck on new figures?! WHY hasbro... WHY?!?!?!?

I'm not sure why its Wave 11 though... its getting confusing. travisc: It's about time Hasbro started to bring some of the uber-early figures back on the comic/cartoon card... now if only they could bring my all time favorite... as for the BATS, 80sMaDe, Ive gotten mine in Walmart Glenmont, Target Colonie, and T r US....i managed to get 2 in Glenmont and two in Target THE SAME DAY. you dont have ANY? pm me , I got pretty much my fill (although i said that with the other troop builders lol) so if i see any, ill pick you up one or two...Ive had others do it for me so i dont mind "spreading the karma" lol the_loud_master: w00t custom fodder

Hasbro should rerelease these next Holiday Season ('09) with the movieline stuff. That way they can get a new head mold for Roadblock, the Tiger Force Duke arms (heck just repaint TF Duke with the og colors), new arms for Gung-Ho & Roadblock (Xamot's, Quick Kick's even Nemesis upper arms w/ Bazooka's lower arms would be better than those blasted arm bands at their elbows).
For the love of God, remold these figures before re-re-releasing these guys. RAR: Destro

are the figures exactly the same as the 25th anniversary card backs? ceraurus: Somehow I've been able to fight off the urge to buy these newer cards. I came across some the other day (RocknRoll, etc.) and it was hard to put it back on the peg. I just had to remind myself of all the things coming out in the next few months that I don't already have! hectorxd: I will probably only get a few of these new style cards. Out of this wave I just want Storm Shadow, but may cave and get the CG also. QBERT: Anyone think that by releasing some of these (ie. Dont take offense; didnt mean it as an insult...its just a truth; if collector 1 wants Storm Shadow, and collector 2 wants TWO Storm Shadows, then thats one less Storm Shadows on the shelves for collector 1 to find.
...now you guys that already have 2 Storm Shadows (one open and one hanging on your wall or packed in a closet) and still are going to buy the non 25th carded one, thats another story... MLos1: BUT...this is really great for Hasbro to do for the people who got in the game late and could find none of these characters.
It's like Hasbro saying, "Hey, we did not forget there are collectors out there that still need these guys to complete their sets."

It's really thoughtful of Hasbro... but it would have been nice to start releasing the same-style Duke with corrected arms and crotch, and all the corrections the other figures needed. If they made the corrections, though, there would probably not be a chance for late-starters to get them, because many people would have to have the upgraded version. Myself, included. annihilator: I wasn't able to find the Storm Shadow re-issue but did see Snake Eyes (wave 5), blade Destro, Crimson Guard and Spirit. A.V.A.C.: i'm ok with them not correcting mistakes. move foward and devote time to newer things. i'd rather the energy be concentrated on better, bigger things. this is just easy $ for hasbro, to hopefully invest in that.
i'm still on the fence about this revision. i like alternate cards, so i'll probably get the one's i see, at walmart if all possible. stormx7xshadow: What he meant with the card comment was the fact that all of these re releases are not on the 25th anniversary foil plated cards anymore. these are now just reproductions and are not worth as much as far as a collector's view goes. If you intend to open them anyway when you get them then it wouldnt really matter either way. |
